  • Skytrek is one of the great 4-wheel drive tracks of the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. Many of the station properties offer self-guided tracks to explorers and Skytrek is one of the best.
Willow Springs is a family-owned property not far from the iconic Wilpena Pound. This is a sheep station with a long family history.
The Flinders Ranges is one of the top destinations in Australia offering plenty for travellers. There is exploring, bush walking and stunning scenery here.

@@adventuretravelaustralia yes we had a ball. Wonderful trek around the property. Would recommend it to anyone looking for some 4wd adventure

Honestly can't see why any new model 150kw 350Nm plus high range 4wd couldn't do this, looks fairly tame. I don't know why everyone's carrying on all the time about needing low range in 2022 for 30 degree climbs just incredible how underrated people take some new vehicles for. There is a reason why German made VW Amarok came out for some time without low range until everyone kicked up the fuss about it not been a real 4wd wout dual range box, so because of that they added one in later models and weighed it down more for no real reason.
People need to move past the low-range story, we're in 2022 technology is now with us.

I’m not sure how this is relevant to the video, but Skytrek is a really interesting, scenic drive

@@adventuretravelaustralia sorry, there is context behind it they do not like vehicles with no low range on the track hence my comment, so I had to go around and see what it looked like cant see a reason why there would be any issues. Exactly it scenic drive! Great content, sorry I was a big roughed up on the day I commented. Cheers for replying and all the best.

@@AllTerrainAction A very good reason for playing it safe by stipulating low-range gearing to be safe on steep grades ,is the fact that all of the electronic traction aides, including hill descent control, operate through the ABS. It is not about power required to drive UP the grades, it's about control over the vehicle DOWN the grades. Simply put, if the ABS over-heats it will behave exactly like any other brake fade. You will lose braking energy. Because these vehicles cannot default to using lower gears, because they don't exist, the vehicle will run away downhill. Nothing to do with power or torque or whatever for driving uphill. Why would any private landowner risk that on their insurance?

@@trickster8635 just lots of fancy talk and no actual practical testing in the real world actually seeing how much this actually comes into play, but as you said why would anyone be interested in letting anyone have a good time.
Go ahead and let plenty more inexperienced drivers in a 4wd with little to no training go do what they want.
