Great tutorial, but trying to remember what nodes are needed to do things with Bifrost is hell of a challenge for a visual-based artist. Lets hope Maya has more intuative ready-made tools built in for future iterations of Bifrost.

Hi, am I wrong thinking that bifrost will eventually substitute MASH system ? I recently started with Mash and I am not sure if I should continue this path or rather start to look at bifrost. Thanks

While Bifrost can technically supplant MASH, it would take a lot of customization to make an interface / workflow to rival MASH. If you want to go through that effort (or are technical enough to just use the Bifrost graph without a MASH-like interface) then yes I would recommend Bifrost since its a faster performing, more extensible system. That said, if you're an artist just looking to play around or quickly build an effect without any ramp-up then MASH is and will be a great tool for a long time to come.

Is it possible to create L-system for some trees generation in Bifrost? I am very new to Maya, just wondering.

      look for MJCG compounds 2.1.
L-system is part of that library.

MASH can do this pretty easily. Create a few random droplets and scatter them over the object using that.
