You want grumpy old lady? Check out the MLL videos featuring Moomin, or the CD rom games. That voice is much more relatable to your metaphor
I had a chemistry/physics teacher that had the same hairstyle and she was short, same voice, everyone just called her little my, quite a temper on 'er as well.
There is no-one - NO-ONE - who can voice Pikku Myy better than Elina Salo.
@@mr.dieinglysad3383 no, she did not. Elina Salo had already made a long carreer as one of the most beloved actresses of all times in classical ”Suomi-Films”. The most known films she has done include the Komisario Palmu -detective films from the 1960’s and The Match Factory Girl from 1990, all before the Moomin -series.
Too-Ticky's voice is so smooth and pretty, it really fits her
Something interesting: I went to school with Sniff's Finnish voice actor's son. Learned it because his older brother was in my older brother's class and my brother had learned it from him. Sure enough, the last names matched the credits when i checked.
Ever since i ‘ve worked as a nanny in Finland, i think back about Nuuskamuikkunen and his unique deep voice.

@@VV-ho8dg This show is Japanese-Finnish-Dutch production , that Japan, the Netherlands (Dutch) and Finland are the original countries of the series. Generally, Finland is considered the country of origin, but from what I have discussed with Finnish Moomin fans, they know that Japan is the original country where the series was made and that the series came from Japan to Finland and was dubbed into Finland based on the Japanese dub. The original language of the series is Japanese. The producer of the series is Finnish.
One of the series' production companies is Finnish and the other is Japanese.
The series was invented by Dennis Livson from Finland, who got permission from Tove Jansson to make that series and they then traveled to Japan together. In Japan, Tove agreed and the series was put into production. The series was written by the Japanese Akira Miyazaki and the series was produced in Japan.
In other words, Japanese creators were involved and the series was produced in Japan, but the inventor of the series and one of the producers is Finnish, and the series has also had Finns as creators, so it was not entirely a Japanese series.
Some of the information is from a Finnish Wikipedia article and some from conversations with Finnish Moomin fans from a Finnish Moomin-themed Discord server.
I just wanted to say that the series is not entirely Japanese and that Finns were also involved in the series.

He changed in the original series too. Both Samuli Edelmann and Ilkka Merivaara did Niisku.

Hello. I wanted to ask you something. Where did you get these episodes from? I'm currently building up my anime library and I'd love to get the whole moomins animated series, including the movies. Normally, I'd be fine with just the Japanese audio tracks, since I go by my principle that everything should be appreciated in it's own language when possible, but knowing where the moomins originated from and what they represent to modern Finnish culture, plus the fact that the dub is actually pretty good, the Finnish dub has grown on me to the point that I'd consider it the primary dub, so if i were to only get the series in Japanese, it would be incomplete in my eyes. I'd love to know where I could download the episodes.
There are a few places you can find episodes with the Finnish dub. There are links in the description of this video for example: czcams.com/video/crAp9iksRxc/video.html
Of course they don't come with subtitles, I translate and sub the clips / episodes on this channel myself. Hope this helps!

You can download all finnish episodes from pirate bay with original finnish dub and there is also 3 episodes with japanese dub because they were never shown in finland. Real problem is probably trying to find subtitles

Okei nimestä päätellen oot suomalainen jotenn tota aika moni on ehottanu paikkaa nimeltä pirate bay, siellä on kuulemma kaikki jaksot mut se on vissiinkin laiton. En sit tiiä mistä sais ihan luvan kanssa, mut dailymotionista ja vimeosta pystyy kans kattoon (tosin itsellä tuli viimeksi tosi paljon ongelmia kun yritin vimeosta katella). Varmaan jossain myös myydään ihan DVD:llä vanhoilla äänillä, mut en sit tiiä.

Possible, but I doubt it.
No, the Finnish and Swedish dubs have completely different voice actors, although both casts are from Finland. Only the theme song is performed by the same singer (Benny Törnroos) in both dubs.
I think they would have an accent though

@@zoolkhan I've never seen the Swedish episodes neither - but I didn't even think they wouldn't exist. I think I've heard bits and pieces here and there, when Swedish speaking kids have watched the Moomins on videos. I know a few Finnish families where there are 2 languages.
So never mind where the films where presented first. They musst be on CZcams now - and if not, then the names are found in Wikipedia. Let's just be practical, and not adding to the complexity of things. Don't make it sound hard to find out.
@@zoolkhan One year late, but several episodes of the Swedish dub are on CZcams last time I checked. The dub has received various home media releases (often bundled with the Finnish dub) and has aired in re-runs on Swedish TV for decades. It’s not hard to find enough clips to at least cover the main characters.
