The lazy girl story

In the land of rolling savannas , there existed a village where tales and lessons were passed down through generations. One such story was that of the Lazy Girl and the Diligent Girl.
In this village, a Diligent Girl, raised by a caring father, lived alongside her stepsister, known as the Lazy Girl. Their lives were intertwined, but their hearts beat to different rhythms. The Diligent Girl, with a heart full of kindness, was sent by her stepmother to seek work and earn a living.
As she ventured forth, she encountered a wise old tree, its branches burdened with dry twigs. Without complaint, she diligently cleaned the branches, carrying on with a joyful spirit. She then came upon a vineyard, where another tree, entwined with vines, pleaded for its branches to be cleared. Though weary, the Diligent Girl did not falter.
Next, she discovered an old oven, damaged and forlorn, seeking her touch for a restoration. In her determined manner, she set to work. Along the way, she met a shaggy dog, dirtied and in need of care. Without hesitation, she cleaned and groomed him, paying no mind to her own dirtied clothes.
Her path led her to a hidden fairy's dwelling, where a year of service was offered. Six rooms were entrusted to her, while the seventh remained off-limits. The diligent girl fulfilled her tasks with care and respect. When the year was done, the fairy revealed the seventh room, a chamber gleaming with gold and silver.
The fairy advised her to rest upon the precious metals, granting her anything that clung to her garment as a reward. The Diligent Girl awoke, her attire adorned with a shimmering wealth of coins and jewels. With gratitude, she bid farewell to her fairy employers and began her journey homeward.
Beside a glistening river, she encountered the once-unclean dog, now leading her to a chest brimming with treasures. "Take what you desire," he barked, and she did. The Well, too, offered its refreshing waters, and she drank to quench her thirst.
Further along, she met the now-restored oven, offering her freshly baked bread. Gratefully, she accepted and continued her journey. A tree, laden with crisp apples, beckoned her. She feasted on the fruit and gathered some for the road.
Finally, she arrived home. The house rooster crowed, announcing her return, bedecked in diamonds and wealth. Her stepmother, astounded and envious, urged her own daughter to seek riches.
The Lazy Girl set off, encountering the same tasks the Diligent Girl had faced. Yet, in her slothfulness, she scorned the requests of the ancient tree, the vineyard, the oven, the well, and the dog. When she reached the fairy's abode, she took the task but succumbed to her curiosity, entering the forbidden room.
The room closed in on her, a swarm of insects and stings punishing her transgression. The Lazy Girl fled, seeking help from those she had once ignored. However, none were inclined to aid her, for she had shown them no kindness.
With a heavy heart, she returned home, her hands empty and spirit broken. Her stepmother, disappointed and unsympathetic, turned her away. The tale of the Lazy Girl and the Diligent Girl echoed through the village, a testament to the power of diligence and kindness, and a warning against the perils of laziness.
