That camera system looks like more of a distraction and an annoyance then a safety feature
They are bloody horrible we have them in works vans . They mine picks cars up also to avoid crashes . Picks them up like a mile in front and tell u to pull back or picks people walking on the path that no we're near the van 😂 does my tree in

I'm torn with those warning systems. I get the idea but, it always seems like these things were designed by people who don't have to sit in a cab driving around busy city areas all day, because they would know just how distracting that thing can be barking in your ear every 5 seconds!
Yeah they are very infuriating, ripped the speakers for the system out my truck because I got tired of it beeping to let me know I am next to parked cars, fences, hedges and anything else close to the road. The beeping annoyed me so much it gave me road rage 😅
@@SirBioSnake I took a local one-hour bus ride to get my visa in Dong Nai Vietnam. Buses have indicator alarms and once in built up areas the driver leaves them on while traveling in the bike lane. I was never so happy to get off the bloody thing, only with the dred of having the return journey to look forward to. This was even worse as the driver hooted at anything that moved and twice for things that didn't.
OK now have 5-year visa, 3-year ID and Vietnamese driving license against my UK one. Now I just have to find the horn button again.

They install the cameras and all you get is distracted by constant noise of the system sounding off, that's really going to improve safety 100%.

I’ve been a rigid HGV driver for 15years, never bothered wanting my artic licence. But from watching your videos I’m going to buy a Scania v8 and turn it into a show truck. Don’t need a trailer when you have side pipes bbbbrrrrraaaappppp. Love the videos keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Well done on wiring up your beacons timbo. The DVSA wasn’t as picky as I throughly they might have been. And Darren needs to wrap the front camera so it doesn’t stick out.
DVSA were less picky, maybe something to do with the camera and CZcams channel 🤔 the fact he knows it’s not dvsa friendly but still drives it 😂 nice to see it’s doing proper hgv work and giving the industry good publicity

I squashed a poor lady in Paris back in 2003 because of the blind spot. Nothing I could do unfortunately but I’ll guarantee that it wouldn’t have happened with these cameras!
I’m not one for technology and love keeping things old school but I have to admit this looks a great system to prevent deaths.. trust me, it has a serious impact on the driver as well mate when shit happens.

That camera system is needed, can’t argue with that, people walk out infront of moving trucks don’t give a shit but it’s the driver that takes the prison sentence when they walk out into blind spots unseen and are killed,

So how come a lot of bikes (one of mine included) came from the factory with the front indicators lit up constantly and only flash when turning?
Mine is a 2016 and bought brand new straight from Honda. There are many more.

Great video mate. That camera system you have is rather large i must say. The DVS system we av on our trucks is alot more descrete, we av a little camera on each corner facing down the sides, and a little camera in the windscreen, hardly know they are there lol.

Does that go off everytime someone is walking past as well or just when the person stops there otherwise that will go off left right centre in built up areas I.e London, Manchester etc
Get a front camera that goes inside the cab on the dash or top of front window. They can be annoying and often go off when there is no person there.
I'm always nervous when I see polive on the road, even though my truck is completely legal. We used to have a Scania R560 6-series with a roof bar with lights and lights along the ridge of the roof wind deflector but that was sold off a couple months ago. But over here the police usually don't stop trucks on the highway, even if you have a couple additional markers or parking lights on.They will give you crap for it if it's a dedicated vehicle control and you're being pulled into a weight station, or the like.

There does exist tintable windows that can be electronically effected, making the dark tint road legal. But i have not seen them installed as a front window. Just side and roof windows.

Just get a modded bit of software to change the voice to the terminator. Many choice terminator lines should be broadcast outside the cab to inform pedestrians of their options before termination.
