New spit at Hurst castle

This is a new spit that seems to have appeared over this winter at Hurst Spit.
On further analysis, it's a breakthrough of the spit that was already there. never the less it's still a hazard at high tide.

Environmentally this is surely to be welcomed as an extra sea defence in a very vulnerable coastline. It's not all about sailing!

It's only because they have stolen 50m of shingle from the entrance to keyhaven dumping it all on the end 🤦
