May could prove to be a breakthrough month, but it’s not without its challenges. For many people, April was a tough month with its eclipse, Mercury retrograde, and the portal-opening Jupiter-Uranus conjunction. Therefore, it might come as a surprise that, as intense as April was, it is not the crescendo. It’s as if we paid the entrance fee to a wild amusement park, only to discover that the rides are not as tame as we expected and there’s no way to get off before the ride comes to a complete stop. And the thrills and chills are not likely to stop coming in May.
Action-hero Mars is feeling his oats while moving through its home sign of Aries all month. Energy is expressed more readily, especially now that interactive Mercury is moving direct. But a gathering of planets in pragmatic and persistent Taurus suggests that we can steadily maintain our course, even when we encounter rough terrain. Unquestionably, there are tricky twists and turns this month which will require skill and stamina to successfully navigate. Potent Pluto is a pivotal player now as it remains nearly stationary throughout the month, even though it technically turns retrograde on May 2. Sobering Saturn forms an anxious semisquare to Pluto on May 6, yet this is a long-lasting aspect which will have resounding ramifications for weeks and even months ahead. Boundaries are being tested in ways that require transformational adjustments, both emotionally and physically. We must face our demons and find solutions to chronic problems that could lead to dire consequences. Mercury’s dynamic square to Pluto on May 17 might act as a turning point as divisive words clash over fundamental beliefs about what is real.
Thankfully, mighty Pluto also offers cosmic assistance when the Sun enters adaptable Gemini on May 20, followed by gracious Venus on May 23 and generous Jupiter on May 25. Each of these planets form flowing trines with evolutionary Pluto-the Sun on May 22, Venus on May 25, and Jupiter on June 6-creating the potential for radical metamorphosis where change previously seemed impossible.Opportunistic Jupiter’s shift into versatile Gemini opens so many doors that the plethora of possibilities might be overwhelming. We can prepare for these potential distractions by focusing our intentions and grounding our energy during the sensible Taurus New Moon on May 7 at 8:21 pm PDT. Locating our center of gravity as this lunation forms a cooperative sextile to stabilizing Saturn offers us a chance to realign our ambitious goals with our core values. But we cannot sit idle; we must be proactive to set the current cycle into motion. If we are actively pursuing our best expression of self, the illuminating Sun’s conjunction with ingenious Uranus on May 13 can shine the sudden light of awareness onto our path, revealing our next steps and inspiring bold actions.
The optimistic Sagittarius Full Moon on May 23 at 6:53 am PDT is a cosmic paradox. On one hand, power-hungry Pluto’s easy sextile to the Moon and its trine to the Sun combine to act as a natural release valve to the tension between the external/objective world of circumstances and the internal/subjective realms of our feelings. Additionally, there is an easy flow of energy from the sweet Venus-Jupiter conjunction at the very last degree of earthy Taurus to ethereal Neptune at the last degree of empathic Pisces. However, we can flounder or fall if we unconsciously succumb to the temptation of excess, over-indulgence, or avoidance of responsibility. We must remember to slow down when everything around us speeds up or we can lose control of our trajectory. Meditation is medicine; following our intuition is likely to produce the most satisfying results.
May is a month of amazing opportunities, but there is still hard work to be done and difficult lessons to be learned. Old wounds may resurface at the end of the month as militant Mars conjuncts mentor Chiron on May 29. We cannot blindly force our way through whatever resistance we encounter. Success may require serious compromise as vulnerable Venus forms a stressful semisquare to the Mars-Chiron conjunction, but swallowing a bitter pill of truth is a wiser action than choking on the poisonous fruit of unresolved fear and anger. Speaking the truth is essential for our evolution.

I am a Columbia alum and actually work next door, and as the protests began I did think of Jupiter's correspondence with higher learning and global/international questing, etc., along with revolution (UR) but I JUST realized that the Taurus aspect here directly corresponds with the issue of INVESTMENT on the part of these universities (waiting for a news segment on THAT) in 'unjust' 'foreign' entities, etc. So the astrological bullseye is just amazing.

Rick- I always 'felt' astrological energies, but your historical presentations really 'proved' it to me, starting with your 2005 Video of Quantum Astrology- so much so that I had to buy a copy of it! Thanks once again! I hope to meet you in person at one of the events you listed pending this DCIS Cancer Stage 0 surgery getting over with. I plan on refusing their radiation and chemo treatments, but time will tell!

@@8888cjstarwoman mine is technically PRE-cancer at Stage 0. I can leave it or have surgery. So far, all docs involved, including my naturopaths, say get the lumpectomy so I'm going for it. The NDs say no radiation or chemo, pending the further sample testing.

Thanks for the warning Yesterday, 5/13 Uranus/Sun 23°Taurus ~ packed (still loaded) a punch. Felt like a Taurus Sun in a pinball machine. Everybody around me: clients, neighbors, social media imaginary friends ... pushing & popping up with frenetic energy. . I fixed it with good boundaries & watching basketball playoffs. Feeding that celestial action with energy seemed an insane thing to do.

My Moon at 1 Aquarius is getting hammered by Pluto and Saturn, and Neptune semi square my Sun at 13 Taurus creating a big haze around it all, but I trust. Each day I trust, one front in front of the other, doing what I and we can to show up as love in the world. Blessings.
don' t know what to feel, because in western astrology Pluto is in aquarius and in the older vedic astrology it is still in capricorn for still many years, so now what...that is why still many people don' t take all serious, because it looks confusibg and all can be possible at the same time
Vedic astrology doesn't use the outer planets, only the traditional 7
Western astrology uses cycles that are tied to the Earth, not the fixed stars. You can use either system. Sidereal astrology has its place, but observations seem to support tropical astrology.

I've also been going through my Jupiter return 15* Taurus...back and forth...and once Jupiter moves into Gemini it will hit all 4 of my planets-Mars 0*, Mercury 15*, Sun 26* and Venus 29*. So it's going to be an interesting few years but I always get something out of your videos, so thanks again.
