  • Deijha Vu's Jerk Hut derived from my first visit to Ghana. I got a vision so profound to do Jamaican food in Ghana that I was passionate about seeing that vision come true. I was able to move to Ghana and with the help of friends and family, build my food truck from the ground up. .
Speaking to Dentaa on the Odana network, Deijha shares her transitional journey and many more... Enjoy

She's a great inspiration and I feel it's necessary for African Americans especially to see that where they're living is WORSE than anywhere they could live in Ghana. Also, it's not all about Accra; Ghana is so much more than the capital city but hopefully, videos like this will help expand people's knowledge and get black people worldwide to make the move.

I really appreciate the three things Deijha said should be considered for preparing a move to Ghana:
    1) be patient (don't expect people to get things done at the same fast pace as Americans),
    2) do lots of networking (to build your business, establish relationships, make yourself known to others),
    and my favorite --
    3) don't try to change Ghana into an America (my interpretation: don't bring that "colonizer" attitude with you. Leave behind the "this is how we do things in America" attitude. If you're going "home," then bring your talents and gifts with you to help build up your home.

I think most parents want the best for their children so when they’re pushing them into high paying jobs like doctor or lawyers, it’s so that they can escape poverty. Chasing your dreams is 💯 important but nothing can be achieved without money. I worked in corporate roles, saved up and then set up my businesses. Ghana isn’t a cheap place to live but it’s definitely better than living anywhere in the West.
