The only thing I miss really is Lettuce's little dance and stomp with the music and Mint's ballet dance and ballet dress turning into her costume. The dance in her ballet dress that Mint did was always my favorite part of her sequence.
Im so sad that they didnt include Lettuce's castanets movement or sound in the new version, it was the reason hers was my fave transformation + she is my fav mew mew so, sobs in my opinion the old transformations where all around better in terms of music and personality/poses and stuff. the new quaility in animation can't cover for that sadly
And they changed lettuce’s bottom part of her outfit to a skirt! Sorry but it doesn’t fit her theme, and looks ugly in my opinion. I think they were trying to make it look more modest, but there was nothing wrong with the original.
The thing I like from the old ones is how they gave DNA immersion background when all characters kiss the lionteen. It feels like their DNA is merged with their respective animals. Also I love Mew Mint. This transformation really disappoint me without all her ballet aspects and poses during the transformation. Afterall, this just my opinion. Nothing much

They really don't move in these transformations that much compared to the original sadly. I think only Ichigo and Pudding are the ones that do more than 2 poses the entire transformation 😭
I really wish they were given more traditional transformation sequences. A lot of people are comparing this to Sailor Moon Crystal, but even in Crystal the girls are given traditional-styled sequences especially in later seasons/movies. Something similar to Precure I think would be really nice here.
i like how ‘real time’ these transformations look. It differs from all of the other magical girl transformations and it’s nice how they interact with the background and their animals. But i wish they would’ve put more thought into them like incorporating their hobbies or personalities and also that door at the beggining of ichigo and mint should’ve been present in all of them
Um yall still don’t get that is same composer Yasuharu Takanashi who did music for Pretty Cure, Sailor Moon Crystal and New Tokyo Mew Mew?? Im just tired of ppl saying they are copying music when thats not case. Yasuharu Takanashi music is epic and modern I love it. More reboots of magical girls should use this composer if you ask me.
I really like Ichigo’s and Minto’s old transformation then this. The fact that Minto doesn’t have her dance makes me sad. Also I miss the DNA sequence they had in the back after missing the pendant. I do think that Lettice, Pudding, and Zakuro have nice transformation in the new version:)
I kinda wish they evened out the length of transformations. Ichigo's transformation still feels longer and more detailed than those of other girls which is unfair. Also, the 4Kids music slaps the hardest still in comparison to the japanese ones (except the OPs/EDs those are still great)..

Have to say, I prefer the old series, this just gives me too many "Sailor Moon Crystal: Tokyo Mew Mew Edition" vibes. I think the animation for this reboot is great, don't get me wrong! But I personally preferred a lot of things in the original that this series has changed. If you like this one better? Great! I'm glad, it's just not my cup of tea.
I also personally don't like a few of the design choices. Like Mint's hair, I think she just looked better with it up and it fit the dancer aesthetic more. The odd mix of it being up and down looks.... kinda bad to me.
I agree. Won't elaborate, other than I just have never enjoyed remakes Adding one tiny thing... I made my own mew team and have no intention of ever redesigning them to match the new designs, which is part of it. That being said, I made all mine in a doll maker, soooo

I also HATE the new color combos, they took the mint green OUT OF /MINT'S/ MAID UNIFORM. The maid outfit is the cosplay I did and I sat with reference pics for hours picking apart every little detail to figure out how to recreate it. Similarly when they released the new versions I picked that apart too, they took away a lot of the contrast, muted the colors and removed a lot of the nice details (the shoes are all black where she used to have mint green details, they changed the mint to a baby blue, her hair buns are gone and they took away the hair color change between civilian and hero forms)
Thanks for the clip! I love how the animator still keeps the awesome part of the first Mew Mew anime's transformation scene and just polishes it to be more awesome!! I hope Mint still do her "transformation dance" more, though.
The new version of Ichigo looks kind of amazing. I wish that mint could still do ballet in her transformation. But it’s nice to see that Lettuce’s transformation has improved. But Zakuro’s transformation graphics are excellent and stunning. I wish she could still have her old hairstyle though. Pudding does not have any graphics in the background. I wish they could add more magic to pudding’s background. Other than Lettuce’s improvement for her hair and transformation , her transformation is 1000000000X more elegant than the old version. Also I love the color of Zakuro’s eyes in this season. 💓💧🥬🍰 💜

Mint’s Redesign was the best and Zakuro being the worst. Lettuce is the second best but you couldn’t tell what animal she was no matter the design, but pudding and Ichigo were a bit overdone tbh

A little curious about the hair colors here. The manga colors all had them with bright colorful hair, which they maintained in the old anime, but they got duller, more realistic colors for their normie forms. But now the normie hair is carried over to the magical girl forms too? I don't get it?

It kinda freaked me out that they changed Ichigo to a high schooler, whereas she was a middle schooler in the original version. Other than that, I actually kinda liked the new adaption

Oh I get it!, I was tired that %99 of the coments was to be despising the reboted designs whit no solid reasons, i felt a little bit sad cause mia ikumi did make those re-designs...
And plus, The fans should be happy of the fact that Tokyo Mew Mew was given a second chance diferent from other anime & manga on the early 2000' whit didn't have this great opportunity to have a remake or reboot like Gash Bell for an example
(But again It's ok for criticize something or have thery're on opinions i will totally respect If i disagree or not, but the pepole is only saying the typical childish argument of: *"tHe oRiGiNaRU wASu bAtTeRRR"* whit makes me disappointed)

They should’ve adjusted it with the old sequence of transformations. Everyone loved it and it related to everyone’s animal. Why change that .. now it just seems like any old anime sequence

Mint and Zakuro's original transformation were better I think. Ichigo got a lot better, before it was way too long, while the others were way too short and now they are similar at least
Words cannot begin to describe how much it bothers me that Mew Ichigo is shown to have 2 sets of ears.
It kinda freaked me out that they changed Ichigo to a high schooler, whereas she was a middle schooler in the original version. Other than that, I actually kinda liked the new adaption
