We may never know unless his medical records get released. Autopsy report says he had a scar on his one hip from surgery. So he had something done there. But he likely would have had significant relief if he had bilateral hip replacements. If he didn't for religious reasons, its a real shame that it cost him his life.

If you are really interested...did you notice the cane he holds. It is not a prop. Prince needs a hip replacement due to all those terrific moves he used to do. Did you notice him leaning on or against something the whole time. However, due to his religion, he will not let doctors operate. I don't think he's mad, I believe he is in pain.
Mikki Greene 💜 You people crack me up, so stupid!! Yes, He did have Hip, & Knee surgery, Both!! I'm not sure what year that was, but he did have Hip Surgery. I think around 2010 ? I can't remember... His religion didn't say he couldn't have surgery, just that he couldn't have blood transfusions. & My husband had both of those Surgery's & He didn't have to have any blood transfusions!! YOU, people need to do your homework before, you write things, you know nothing about!!! He wasn't in pain, that you could see, he was just tired of waiting... And I don't blame him, anyone would have been.

I know he (Prince) hated this kind of shit (being filmed) wout knowledge, but I'm glad I get to see a tiny (no pun intended) bit of him when he's just being ...whatever. If he was waiting to get in that elevator than when those people got off why did he let the door close? and why was he sitting by himself at a table and NO ONE for 5 or 6 minutes talked to him (that's cool) but he seemed uncomfortable, that "stance" he's doing is definitely a stretch for his hips, back, leg whatever...He was a trip, BADASS BEAUTIFUL, but soo small. I have no doubt that painkillers and that "shot" of adrenaline along with the flu kept him up forever till his (BIG) little heart gave out....i💜U baby FOREVER

You're so right! Fanatics go nuts whenever anyone suggests that Prince was anything but a 100% perfect rock god who poops Skittles and pees rainbows. Personally, though he was (and still IS) probably my fave pop musician of all time, the more I hear about his human side, the more I appreciate the dude. Don't understand why this bugs so many people. He was a lot more than just "cool." He was a real person who did a whole lot to help others in his brief time on Earth. Prince was a beloved humanitarian and a true genius who worked hard, gave so much of himself, and who will be dearly missed. Some of the 'stans' on here just need to get real!
