I make an awesome chickpea tikka masala and I am happy to share the recipe!
1 large can crushed or diced tomatoes
    1 large can chickpeas
    1 small onion
a squeeze of ginger from a tube or a thumb of fresh
a spoonful of garlic from a jar or 1-2 fresh cloves
1 heaping tablespoon garam masala (or more!)
garlic, onion, cumin, paprika powder and pepper to taste (experiment!)
I start a rice cooker with at least 2 cups (dry) basmati rice. Brow if you prefer. You can use regular rice as well, but the basmati gives it that extra Indian taste. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with cold water.
In a pan I add some water and water saute garlic, onion and ginger until they start to turn translucent.
Add a bit more water as needed, add your other spices. Allow to simmer for a few minutes. Make sure it doesn't dry out and burn!
Add tomatoes, stir, let cook until steaming.
Add chickpeas and stir again, cook until thoroughly heated or your rice is done and you can't wait any longer! If you want to let the flavors really soak in you can heat it on med-low a while longer, but I am usually too impatient 😄
For a little extra deliciousness you can add some canned coconut milk, but it is higher in fat so for SOS you may want to avoid it while you're in the losing weight phase.
    Enjoy!

My goodness me! I've been eating like that for decades. My wife, however, freaks out and shouts out YECK!! If I make oatmeal for both of us it's just plain oatmeal, period. Also I do have the tendency to throw everything in the pot and make goulash type recipes. Don't get me wrong I can cook very good conventional meals for any group of people and my wife excels in this department. I too, use an Instant Pot several times a week and it helps a lot. I love your easy going philosophy on food and exercise, some of which I have incorporated into my life-style over the years. I'll keep checking out your videos for further inspiration. Thanks for posting, au revoir.

Maybe you can help. I'm going on year 2 of being a whole food plant-based eater. I'm not going to say Vegan because I don't eat any of the vegan junk. Anyway I was so proud of myself for eating an entire pound of baby spinach mixed with baby kale everyday. I was so proud of myself for all the vegetables and beans that I have been eating. Then I ran into this channel Daphne Reloaded and she claimed that everything I'm doing is wrong and that I'm setting myself up for kidney stones as well as a number of other serious health problems. Even though right now I'm off all my medications and I feel very good. Thoughts on her views
