    Thank u soooo much...yeah idk y they give us a whole 'nother truck knowing that all I was ever taught was out of a Freightliner ,I mean everything is completely opposite,all the Freightliner was really used for in training was the basic of the driving skills, backing up,etc. Which the Trainer still showed us how to use the Amenities in the truck knowing we're not going to have the same truck but I can say it does gitty up better than the Freightliner,the drive is real smooth....great video... straight to the point

    • @DDTruckDriver
      @DDTruckDriver  Před 2 lety

      We have looked into this extensively. You don't, unless something changed in the last year they consider this a necessary "safety" feature. When in reality it is more of a "prevents you from sleeping" feature.
      So my recommendation, find the power line to your horn and put in an on/off switch. You could also look for the fuse to your horn and pull that out while you sleep. But don't leave it out because if you get inspected it is a violation if it doesn't work.

    • @RIAN69
      @RIAN69 Před 2 lety

      If you open the door after you arm the auto start the truck will pull the horn after it dose interlock check my trick is to arm it with the door cracked then close it and it thinks I'm still inside so I can get out at will after without reading the sys again......just for the next confused drive lol

      2014 is older than we have had personally so I can't say for sure because I haven't had my hands on that personally. However, in all the trucks I have used with this system it is actually cumbersome to get it to turn on. The main one being that you have to turn on the switch on the dash. So if yours is turning on when you don't want it on I am not sure why that would be.

    • @DDTruckDriver
      @DDTruckDriver  Před 3 lety +2

      AC can't function without the engine. You would have to have an APU to run AC without your truck engine. I believe the bunk fan would also be tied into the truck being on. When we just want air moving we buy some of those cheap fans and plug in a couple to move the air through the sleeper and reduce idle time.

    • @skylerdroubay8209
      @skylerdroubay8209 Před 2 lety

      Tough to say on that much info, batteries do go bad regularly though so that is always one of the first things I'd look at. Also I have noticed that KWs like to trigger that "low battery" beeping noise in the truck a little prematurely. What voltage does your gauge read when this alert comes on?

    • @Bendigo1
      @Bendigo1 Před 2 lety +1

      Starting the truck uses up a lot of power, 20-30 minutes is long enough to charge the batteries very much. If you have any phone chargers or anything plugged in or if you have an inverter or elog system in the truck there will always be a small drain on the batteries, not to mentiin all the electronics in the truck always use up some electricity, even if the truck is not on.

      Now, do you know if your truck has this feature? If it wasn't built with it included from the factory it can't do it. This is not an automatic feature, it is like a $1,000 add on at the factory. If your truck has an APU that usually means it won't have the Auto Start/Stop system
