The 2014-15 Villanova Wildcats were one of the best shooting teams in the country before getting upset by NC State in the postseason. Jay Wright’s squad ranked in the top 20 in field goal percentage during the regular season. In this drill, you’ll learn one of coach Wright’s fundamental shooting drills that helped the Wildcats be so accurate from the floor.

Kids shoot the ball wrong and jack up 50 threes with improper form (all my 4th grade players do) and as coaches it is IMPERITIVE and CRITICAL that we teach this drill. Excellent example of perfect practice drill. Log the shots made. Track player performance. Use a notebook and write down the shots made in this Get 50.
Awesome job by Council Rock's own Jay Wright!!! Yes! I'm using this to coach my players.

colton422 I think it's good to listen to coach Wright. Obviously he knows how to teach this. He's a 2x national champion having made history with his team reigning more 3's than any team ever this year.

This is an ok way to give some sense of shooting to a group of people who are really bad ...so it could be ok for a group of lousy 4th graders....but not sure it makes sense for an individual. Would never recommend to a player to take this approach. It´s better to get a real understanding of shooting personally and then take a day for each kid to give them the concepts. The Wright approach is very McDonalds.

@@neetrabBeing a National Champion coach doesnt really mean that someone understands how to teach shooting.

@@trple2 I'm simply establishing that coach Wright must know what he's talking about because his team, being a national champion, has the record for most 3s in a year for a division 1 school. You have to know what you're doing if you've won multiple championships. And let's not assume that he told us everything about shooting in 4 measly minutes.

@@trple2 you said this is a McDonald's approach. Can you point me in a direction of a video of a bball drill that's not ..... that actually works?

I hope he's teaching Jermaine Samuels and ALL the cats this because their shooting stinks right now....at least in their last game.
