*FUCK* it is a blast! Our adventure before the last one had the party engaging in hunting down a pirate's colony, engaging them in naval combat to reach the docks, then talk their way into an audience with a pirate's leaders and switched into a kind of round-robin SOCIAL battle...resulting in adding the pirates as a naval force under Carthage's control. And the final quest of the adventure was trying to keep an 50,000 strong ARMY from sacking the city! When we only had 800 men at arms.
Still succeeded, by pulling some SERIOUSLY underhanded crap with the Alchemist, the Assassin, the fallen angel, the enemy's wine stores, and....well...thier latrines. Turns out that while an army MARCHES on its stomach, it can't do much *MARCHING* if it is too busy DEHYDRATING, lol.
But yeah, check it out. I'm lucky enough to be in the playtest, and last I heard they are just waiting on art to come in before they go full-out with it.

As someone who's preparing to publish my own roleplaying game system, I would like to thank Wizards of the Coast for making D&D as unappealing as possible and giving me a genuine chance to break into the industry. It's rare that you see such a big, bloated corporation do their part to support smaller businesses and creators.
Likewise, because I'm working on a game myself.
And it's not 'my game'. It's your game. I want you to take this game and do whatever you like with it and have fun. It's literally for everyone, anyone that wants to play.
My best wishes to you and your endeavors good sir. Perhaps one day in the future I may stumble upon your work and obtain a copy of it try table top rpgs for the first time.

I gave up on WOC despite being a huge fan of MTG like 3 years ago when they really started this Diversity stuff and there was a duo of guys that had an idea. It sucks I can't remember the details of what they were trying to do but they were screwed over a few times and eventually they got to talk to one of the leaders in the company... and basically the guy said that instead "Look how much smarter I am for hiring a POC" Like that made me realize that these people want to ruin everything and that they are maliciously racist.

I can play D&D without buying a single thing from them. All you really need is imagination and a little bit of cleverness, but I also have D&D manuals from 1978 that still work just fine.

Im worried actually. There is a portion of people that actually support this madness. They will have a backbone in them in the beginning and at the same time will try to make indifferent masses(milking cow) believe that its actually fine and normal, a standard(I guess they call it social responsibility). At the moment it looks dumb, but cant say they wont succeed in the future, we will see. Making people change their priorities worked in the past several times, just some time needed until for example Amazon makes awful series the average consumers got used and are content with.

Paizo is just as woke as Wizards, the best alternatives are Troll Lords games and the OSR.
Lamentations of the Flame Princess is a good hardcore dnd system. Ascending armour class like 5th ed, streamlined classes. Good art too
Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea (or ASH) is basically 2nd edition AD&D refined with a lot of good world building and mechanics baked in.
Plus art from the Marvel Comics artists who did the Conan short stories as graphic novels.
*Basic Fantasy RPG* is great, it's a rules-light game system that's at it's core is modernize of AD&D (makes it compatible with d20) so that anyone can enjoy it and greatest of all it and all the modules & supplement for it are ENTERELY FREE though you can get print on demand copies which will cost... $5 each.
What i never understand is the people who say these sorts of things then precede to give every excuse as to why they dont just quit and leave. Like if he doesnt think people like him should be around, why wont he just go?

I play DnD 5e since release, and we play a continues campaign for 2 years now. I asked my DM if we switch to a new system because of all the nonsense going on. His words were: we are not switching, he doesn't give a sh*t about all the stuff they are pulling he home brews nearly everything anyways 🤷♂ . I tend to agree.

I started playing D&D around 1982, went to RPGA cons in the 90s and I pretty much found that color didn't matter. Most of us were like, oh cool another nerd 😎. Some guys were anti-girl, not me or any of my nerd friends, it was hey a girl I can talk to about D&D, sweet. Now how do I talk to her? 🙃 Yeah, I am the demographic that they hate, so no more money from me.

Even if they get ousted, they'll just pretend to have "changed their ways" until they can get back into position to DO IT ALL AGAIN. They exist SOLELY to make life miserable for everyone else, all because we assume they are like us, just wanting to enjoy what little they can from our limited time on Earth. But they get off on stealing enjoyment from us, they are addicted to the dopamine of being able to do evil things without anyone punishing them. What they actually need is a swift beating, not lip service or lawsuits. That way, their inborn instincts to survive MIGHT correct their course...

I always envision an alternate universe where skin color didn't matter at all, but instead people cared about hair color deeply. Hairism was the buzzword and executives came out in droves to complain about people with blonde hair not leaving the workplace quickly enough.

We just used to call D&D players nerds but we never wanted to kick them out of their games based on their skin color.
That said I grew out of childish name-calling and actually quite enjoy the Dungeons and Dragons like role-playing video games these days.

I am sick to death of everything being changed and destroyed by these diversity warriors. All the best things have been ruined.
I hate the idea of an all-digital D&D or TTRPG because that means it requires something to run. a service, a program, something you have to sign up for. and at any point you can be denied service if you violate the TOS.
And their TOS will be discriminatory.

What i don't get is this: D&D has been the most popular/successful TTRPG for the last 6+ years and instead of looking back and going: well, things are going bad at the moment, let's look back at we did better before and are doing worse now they go; Huh, what about we just ignore what we did well and continue with the shit that has gotten us here!

I still hold onto some tiny shred of hope that all of this will loose Hasbro so much money, they'll be forced to sell D&D to someone who won't completely trash it. But then again, I'm the type to hang on to hopeless causes.
Amusingly enough almost every official forum I can find is vehemently defending the statement as brave and simply wishing to spread opportunity to represent the more diverse modern player base and other buzzwords. An anyone concerned with it is simply racist and wants to either stir drama or hates women and minorities.
People are whiplashing themselves from actively hating Wizards for being greedy to actively defending them because they made a stupid statement that agrees with the message.
This could have been stapled to the OGL announcement and people would have bent over backwards to defend it
