Last night, I was tired and overwhelmed when I went to sleep. . . not only with caregiving, but also with a cancer diagnosis of a young niece that we had just received. . . I had a dream in which I was sitting and speaking with Bishop Sheen. This morning, I turned on my computer and came across this sermon, first thing, when looking for Bishop Sheen on U-Tube. No coincidence here. I believe . . . I believe . . dear Venerable Sheen. Pray for us all.
There are absolutely NO coincidences. God has His hand in everything big or small either by Willing it or allowing it. Bp Sheen certainly wanted you to watch that. The Saints and God have Their way of communicating to those who have faith and are opened to God’s unconditional AGAPE LOVE! May God bless you and strengthen you. When we do all for LOVE of Jesus, and in union with His Passion and Death, our Crosses often seem lighter. He is always right beside us helping us carry it. I will pray for you!
No one speaks like this anymore. What a mind! What faith! This man had all the qualities a person could ever hope for. His main teaching was to spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament. He practised what he preached and spent at least an hour everyday from the day he was ordained until the day he went to heaven. He died on the floor of his apartment in adoration of our Lord Jesus. I like to think he Jesus in all his glory and died of happiness. I cried when I read about his death and I don't cry at anything.
Where is our Bishop Sheen today..I can not think of one clergyman who can speak like him"maybe there is and we haven't heard him yet but he can convey the love God has for us in a way that I have never heard from anyone else.

I love how almost every moral lesson in the bible boils down to :"Do wtf god tells you to do or else." Which makes sense since all religion is about controlling behavior, so if you want to control behavior, you need to make people afraid of the punishment for not behaving the prescribed way.

Understanding this will help understand the Church. The Church always holds fast to Christ's position of 'hating sin' but 'not the sinner'. And the Church admits that we are all sinners and therefore unworthy of casting a stone calling someone else a greater sinner. Further when I go to confession with a priest, he is morally bound to be silent on my sins no matter what the pressure or implication. This has been the reason for much mud slinging for centuries but withstanding all, the Church continues to stay faithful. The Catholic Church is an amazing study and contains answers dating 2000 years. Despite the numerous splinter groups since the reformation, the Catholic Church continues unabated as the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. May God bless us all.

It is impossible for us to acquire faith in God. It is always only a gift that God can give. And you will see it someday if you continue your effort to disprove God and his Church. Sin is as real as the air we breathe. It's the manifestation of our concupiscence. Just because we don't see air, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We can feel it. And the weight of sin is something I feel lifted off me everytime I go for a confession with a genuinely contrite heart. Morality doesn't come from the invisible man in the sky, it comes from the core of our being. Our conscience. And this compass of our life gives us direction. There are sons who disown their fathers. But that doesn't mean his father is not his father. We are creations of the Creator and our soul leaves to stand before him one day. There is nothing any of us can do to stop that from happening one day. Keep going your way brother, God will reveal Himself to you like He did to me. He has a special affection for us prodigals.
