I think it's great that you use a breadboard, it makes the project much more approachable.
After 90 seconds I had to pause to catch my breath.
But, this video was just what I was looking for.
I now understand how the detectors work (in principle). On youtube, this is by far the best explanation I've seen so far.
Great video as always! wish I had found you back in the school days so could've owned those science fairs.
dude you are awsome. keep thinking of those ww2 metal detectors and how they workd with no chips n bits
Great build
Perfect! Thank you. I still have ALOT to learn about the world around me.
Actually, I do metal detecting as a hobby and there is a real use for short-range detectors. They're called pinpointers and they help locate the exact location of an item in a pile of dirt you dug out (or help inform you if you failed to pick it up with the first dirt shoveling). Just thought id inform you if you weren't already aware :)
What are these exactly? Readily-built circuits or components? (refering to short range detector)
@@josephj5864 They are readily built devices little metal detecting wands you hold in your hand and wave in through the dirt clump to find the metal object inside. Look up 'metal detecting pinpointers'. They also make waterproof ones that vibrate instead of make noise.
This is so cool! I love this channel more and more : )
you have quite energy mate. keep going.
this is one of my favorite channels. Keep up the great work man!
Awesome and creative job man keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, how do I get a coil wire stronger to pick up metal signals deeper in the terrain or ground?
impressive memorization skills. note to self. this is a KSL news endorsed channel via twitter
Great video ! Thank you!
DUDE I LOVE YOUR VIDS
THERE SO COOL
KEEP IT UP
Very interesting! It would be great if you could slow down your talking just a tiny bit though xD
Wow you’re smart. Good on you!
I want to see more of your videos!!
Is there any way I can had an LED in the circuit to notify when the coil detects a metal?
I think it would be really cool to see some of Tesla's inventions, such as the famous Tesla coil, his turbine, or his oscillator.
Very interesting! It would be great if you build a more powerful detector to search for stuff in the ground
esta muy bueno el detector de metal amigo
Hi, thank you for share with us.
very well done
this video is really cool and interesting
back for an update mines working great explanation i didnt have to go to diagram to put coil and speaker on it :)
This channel seems to be growning pretty fast so if it stays at this rate and you keep making videos like this then you should be at 1,000,000 subscribers pretty soon like 1-2 years the average is about 10 years for 1,000,000 su subscribers
You left me curious about that other, better, more complicated circuit you mentioned.
thank for your video are very interesant a frend from mexico
A detector with multiple coils in a grid array , for example 60 coils by 60 coils may be able to show a visual pattern on a screen at the same 60 by 60 resolution, also you could have an inline detector with potentially hundreds of coils in a row, this attached to a wheeled vehicle ,driven in a straight line the data from this could then be recorded and an image could then be shown, it is likely the coils would interact with each other but I wonder if they could be shielded, to stop the interference.
thanks a lot... thats great.
So with everything you did if I get a thicker copper wire with more strands I get a search capability as far as depth?
Do you have a schematic for that other chip you used? I have a chip with a PWM signal generator, checker and modifier. SG3525A. It's an 16 pin chip. I'm trying to do the same as you did just to see if I could. I can't getting it working and maybe your implementation will give me a clue what I'm doing wrong.
great video! you could try to make a railgun
thank you!
Last week's build is going to be hard to beat.
+Ben Belanger yeah haha
I like. Thank you. Any thoughts on building something regarding sight or vision? Like night vision goggles or a optical tel
And your videos as quite amazing
Thank you I guess I will buy one.
very cool. how can you build a functional detector for actual use finding stuff?
Thanks for sharing. I need help from you, I won't use metal detector for my project thats need more than 3 fit detecter range can you help me out.
so how would you output more power at say 17 khz than another coil running at 17khz im trying to understand how you could increase the emf in a specific khz range or would it be fixed for each khz and then the shape of the coil dictates the power over a sustained distance so a larger coil would run 17 khz but would hold more emf for longer than say a smaller coil running at 17khz is there any way to add more power to boost emf ?
Can you make a coil gun
Is there some tool I could use to turn the strength of the signal going to the speaker into useable computer data instead, so I could pair this with a raspberry pi.
I would like to see you build a induction coil!!!one that would be capable of heating a 3" pipe or crucible
How would this design have to be altered to make it capable of detecting ounce or so heavy metal bits from few inches below surface of the ground?
Thanks a lot !!!!
So if I use a thicker copper wire I get a better depth reading? In other words I have better search capabilities for metal in the ground
Good 💯 may you make it more sensitive and more deeply
WOW, your channel grew fast.
+DangerousPie03 haha yeah xD I get around 700-1000 subs a day now :D
Keystone Science That's absolutely amazing. I guess that's just what happens when you make such awesome content.
+DangerousPie03 awe thanks man! :D
+Keystone Science ,,,i wished you demonstrate how to make metal detector with cd4011 and cd4023 ,,,i found it in kavmaster.ru channel but i doubt if this will work, like a coin detect in 90cm and a big stuff for 2-3 meters ,,,i found this channel great,,, thank you
Awesome as always! Do you have a patreon so we can support your supply cost and keep these videos going?
What this tool you use to calculate the inductance of the coil
Yes, how do I get a more powerful coil to pick up a signal deeper in the ground, say about 30 cm deeper?
what capacitor was it? I heard the first one is a 2.2 uF but what voltage? Does it matter
thank you
I have the same tweezers as yours. Even when I live on the other side of the earth.
Great work! Very interesting, cool, and something you can really learn stuff from! It is simple, but a great and cool build!
Electromagnetic levitation next please :)
So... using this design you can make the metal detector discriminating, so it can tell the difference between certain metals.
In order to do that you simply place an adjustable capacitor or a potentiometer in parallel with the coil.
As potentiometers and varicaps that have wide ranges of values are best.
so the coil is waterproof right and can u make a toturial with the better circuit?
RYU47376 It should be the same as this but beefed up. Just google schematics or tutorials and yes, the coil is waterproof the circuit is not.
nice one
amazing
can u plz tell me if we can use a 5v buzzer instead of a speaker?
Can u make a video or several videos where u explain every electrical component like capacitors, transistor, resistors etc .Explaining how do they work and when do you need them in your circuits.
very good show I hop that god help you to reach your wishes
Do you have a data sheet for detector device components 20 meters away from gold or blanks
Nice!
How do you modify a cheap metal detector to make it as powerful as you could and accurate for silver and gold
could you build a more powerful detector to search for stuff in the ground?
Love your vids :P
How does metal detectors extinguise the type of metals?
I have a big coil from an electric motor, should I use that?
Where did you get the large compaciter that you wrapped the coil around ? Reply plz
+Master Builder I think I got it at a scrap yard to be honest, sometimes I'll go there and find useful things
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks too much
Hi! Can u please make a manual longe range gold locator? Thanks
You should make a multistage coil gun.
Nice
Good
hey what about going less simple to make your own detector with knobs to fine tune the signal with depth detection
How do you increase the range exactly? I'm sorry I'm not a very circuitry literate person
I enjoy your videos and have just taken an old microwave apart and will try to make some Lichfield fractals because your videos have gotten me interested in them. However I'm old and you speak very rapidly. It would make for easier viewing if you slowed your speaking down.
Please don't think I'm complaining just to be grumpy it's just that my hearing is poor and I often have to rewatch parts of a video to understand what you're saying.
Again I enjoy your videos and will continue to watch and subscribe.
I did my first fractal and I didn't electrocute myself. I used an piece of plywood and it turned out well.
I suggest you need to reduce the Voice volume.
because when you talks, I hear *audio clips* (distortion).
I've made this but the audio output is outside the audible range what to do?
P.S.- I've used buzzer instead of speaker.
Would you be willing to help make these for the school board? I have a housing i could make to go along the doorways. It would be a fairly cheap option for them to install to increase safety
congratulations
Could you help me make a metal detector and voids at depths like 20 meters underground
I subscribed!😆👍
I have a question to ask you. Is there a reason why you set the number of turns of the coil to 200? Also, is there a reason why you set the diameter to that extent? I would like to know if there is a related formula.
Short answer: to get the desired inductance value of the coil.
hey keystone science can u tell me circuit using relay and sensor without any controller
Panalo/The best ever
i really like your speed talk
efficient way of talking
Easy tiger, my brain nearly exploded.
I paused the video so that the narrator could rest
I can build one now but no I still don't know how it works. why do those specific wires go in those specific places? and so on. Like your channel btw. been a subscriber for awhile.
Love u bro plz i am made metal detector in home plz deep reng metal detector circuit nd part name plz send vdo
Helo! Keystone Sc, to be honest, your video will only help those who have the basic knowledge of electronics. What do you have for us who don't have the basic knowledge of electronic? I got an Idea! Make another video on how to make a metal detector using electronic parts from a broken electronic devices like radio, tape recorder, stabilizer, refrigerator, TV etc n etc. Pretty Plz! TY
Would it be possible to use a frequency generator such as a phone app, then amplify signal with audio amplifier and connect to coil and speaker??
can you upload the video of the circuit which you showed at about 1;28 sec plz??
how about a plasma lighter,, i would love that
