For me, Nirvana is like God. This is the first cover of a nirvana song I have to admit it is better than the original. Fantastic work.👍🖤🎶
I am a fan of old death metal from the late 80s and early 90s... and I have the problem that the modern metal bands with grunt voice (no matter if female or not) mostly try to be to progressive and... are crafted/produced way to good. They are mostly very good musicians and are really engaged AND they show this very much in their production. For me... that is often a bit over-sized. And then... sometimes elements just got lost.
E.G. the somehow jazzy vibe in the original... is almost gone in my opinion. The voice part is so well crafted... its just too good for a nirvana song. The very unique part of Kurt Cobains singing was that it always sounded weird and lazy... but also was well crafted. But he wasnt that good as a singer what you can see in many life perfomances of him. The distortion in his singing sounded always like his real pain - not like a well trained singing voice.
This feeling was put on all of their productions. It somehow sounded a bit lazy but was really really good. Even more complicated songs like this had very simple elements in it that were supposed to be simple.
This cover performance here... is way to good crafted (for me). What means its REALLY different. Which is the most important challange when you do a cover. Try something new with a song. They did it.
If you like this new song you just like this style more or anything in details that you maybe cannot even explain - which is fine. But in my opinion there is no "better" or "worse". They both are really good, and although its the same song, both perfomances are just different.
I dont like such a well crafted raw metal not that much. In e.g. symphonic metal I really like it. But raw... is felt by myself best in a song when the production tries to hide the talent and good crafting and so the production also tries to be... "raw".
Better than the original and Nirvana is God? You're on some good $h!t and I need the number to your dealer because you're higher than anyone I know. Do yourself a favor and check into rehab my dude. The party is over for you making such a stupid claim. It was good but definitely not great and definitely not better than nirvana. The drummer is boring as hell as well as the guitar player. Nothing excites me about them. Im sorry but you're wrong. Have a great day
