If you didn't have the drag slicks it would be such a sleeper, nobody expects a Jetta to be putting down 554 to the wheels. In a roll race where traction wouldn't be as much of an issue you could beat a lot of much more expensive V8's
Nobody expects a 2012 stock jetta to have a track mode, manual shift, and a laptop tuning plug in the glove box either but my girl's does Lmao, i wish i had a build guide for exactly what he did to this

Once I get used to the is20 I will go IS38 then jump to big boy power! ;) Check it out if you like GLI'S.. I have a HOW TO on the IS20-IS38 swap for the Gen3 engines! edit #2 ; IS38+ putting down roughly 380+ crank waiting on meth injection kit! edit #3 ; Garrett GT2260s is the move!

It was actually chosen over the GTI because of the gearing in the GLI's 6sp transmission. The GLI doesn't have to leave 5th gear by the time he finishes the 1/4 mile, whereas the GTI needs to get to 6th, otherwise he's redlining. That's why the most boring car in it's time was chosen.
It's obviously a bigger turbo, but I wish they would just say what the hell the put in it. Also...I noticed some of the comments below: one guy asked about 2.5L? .. from my experience, straight pipe exhaust and intake, 5 cyliniders have restricted power anyway. After that, Stage 1 tune, without a turbo -forced injection there's not a whole lot more to do. You could do a front body kit GLI or GTI conversion maybe for more free air but it might not work so well if the car isn't turbo so idk.. For the 1.8t SE guy, I have the same thing... intakes alone don't add more horsepower, downpipes and exhausts usually do. That, Stage 1+ ...good suspension and Enkei' wheels (lightweight wheels)...we're good to go! Stage 2 and beyond..you'll need deeper pockets and more parts.

Point of information. We don't know how if this is fastest Jetta in the universe to not as its top speed is not tested here. But it's pretty darn quick.

a k04 does fit a 2013 gli, many companies such as unitronic and apr sell them, a bit of money required but you get 330 whp so its a good trade
