Same happens in bowling. You maybe the best bowler but if your partner releases pressure from the other end it's a big headache for you.

If Waqar would have played 1992 worldcup he would have taken more wickets and would have been more famous than Wasim..Also, Wasim kept Waqar for sometime out during his captaincy so as to avoid him overtaken..Again Waqar strike rate was well ahead of Wasim, only advantage Wasim had was the short run up and left handed bowling action..
Waqar Also palyed one game in 1999 wc that was also fix against BD......

Waqar younis was slightly better than Wasim Akaram in my view. He was master of Yorker batsman use to put steel on their shoes for waqar Yorker.
Waqar definitely had more potential than Wasim. However, there are countless interviews from players from that era that say all the same thing, Waqar had no management skills, and in addition to the injuries, his attitude is what got in the way of him being as great as Wasim. While not always the most straight guy, Wasim was known to be an inspiration to the youngsters during his Captaincy, such as Saqlain, Afridi, Razzaq, Azhar Mahmood, etc. So many of these players played under his captaincy and to this day call him the best captain they played with. So I would say Waqar had more potential for sure, but Wasim actually utilized his to the maximum, and was overall a better player and captain. Also if you factor in his batting, a must for any All Time XI.
@@Moiz009 Waqar was a genuine fast bowler with reverse swing Yorker. His wicket taking ability was better than others in his time. If he would have played as much matches as wasim did, Waqar wouldn't have taken much more wicket than wasim. Waqar has better bowling average. I am not against wasim he was also one of the greatest but as a fast bowling lover I pick waqar.
@@VikashSingh-sf2xp I complete agree actually. But to me, overall skill and the attitude of the players can have a huge effect on the team. For those combined reasons, I would pick Wasim, as he gets along with pretty much everyone, and overall, he eliminated the need for a lower order all rounder, since he can easily come in at 7-8 position and give the team a quick 20-35 runs during death overs with a very high strike rate.

@@arcticwanderer2109 Most importantly more than 50% wickets came as bowled out & lbw. If you consider the Pakistan fielding(actually misfielding) & dropped catches you will realise their true class. They not only took more wickets than Lillee - Thomson but conceded less runs @ wicket. Lillee-Thomson bowled in bowler friendly pitches without any restriction on number of bouncers to batsmen without helmets, chestguards or arm guards.
They were the best bowling pair in tests. But in odis I'd rate Ambrose-Walsh or Donald-Pollock ahead of them because of their consistency & economy rate.

Waqar Younis used to bowl very fast; that's why, he suffered a lot of injuries in his career. Otherwise he would have achieved a little more & also played longer.
@@carrepairandtoolsvideos Waqar led a revolt against Wasim in 93 when he first became captain. Waqar has never been a good leader. Just look at his coaching for Pakistan. Wasim was never the issue, Waqar was. just look at any player from the 90's interviews', they all say Wasim was the best choice for captain. Wasim chose Shoaib Akhtar over Waqar Younis for a reason too. Waqar was still getting wickets post 96, but was conceding too many runs. For the 1999 world cup, Wasim made the XI and asked Waqar to fit himself in, and even he himself couldn't do it. They had Wasim and Shoaib opening pace bowlers both in form, also had Abdul Razzaq, and Azhar Mahmood, both very handy batsmen as well. that's four pacers right there. I am a huge Waqar Younis fan when it comes to his bowling, and I do not believe I have seen a better run up and bowling then Waqar in his prime. But, If you do proper research on Waqar, you'll find out he is a very insecure and selfish player. No people skills whatsoever. He ruined his own career by only focusing on pace, and not getting smarter with age like Wasim did, and also wanting to be captain when clearly Wasim was the better choice. Then he continued to ruin Pakistan cricket by being the coach and wanting everything his own way.

Waqar at his peak was unplayable.he had the best statistics since the second world war.wasim was good but not in the same league.after keeping waqar out of the team and waqar having back issues that's when they become similar
