Cathedral of Learning Tour featuring nationality rooms, commons room, elevators and 40th story view

  • This is a video tour of the University of Pittsburgh Cathedral of Learning. This features a lot of the most common areas of the building that include the commons room, the nationality rooms, westinghouse elevators view out the windows of the 35th, 36th, 40th stories. Tour of the 1st 2nd 3rd and 36th floor main lobby, basement and ground floor. Anyone visiting Pittsburgh must see this skyscraper its amazing.

    Thats because the main elevator bank area is so tall on the first floor floor that it goes higher than the second floor there for the next stop is the third floor. This isnt really a problem since most people would probably take the stairs since its only one floor up and they added an elevator for ADA reasons to access the second floor, there is not a lot of space one the second floor since the first floor is so tall. Those rooms are VERY nice and expensive.

      1971, the building was built between 1926-1932 but the original elevators were replaced with Westinghouse Selectomatic, those elevators were recently replaced in 2015 with Otis Compass Plus

    They might not be allowed to because it is historic and I think they have to be kept this way.
