- This is a video tour of the University of Pittsburgh Cathedral of Learning. This features a lot of the most common areas of the building that include the commons room, the nationality rooms, westinghouse elevators view out the windows of the 35th, 36th, 40th stories. Tour of the 1st 2nd 3rd and 36th floor main lobby, basement and ground floor. Anyone visiting Pittsburgh must see this skyscraper its amazing.
This building is still as great as ever.
Yes it is
This is probably my favorite video in all of CZcams.
Nice floor indicator
Too bad these are gone now
The elevator that serves 2 and 3 are Schindler 300a MT
Nice building
Thats because the main elevator bank area is so tall on the first floor floor that it goes higher than the second floor there for the next stop is the third floor. This isnt really a problem since most people would probably take the stairs since its only one floor up and they added an elevator for ADA reasons to access the second floor, there is not a lot of space one the second floor since the first floor is so tall. Those rooms are VERY nice and expensive.
i thought u filmed with the iphone what r u filming on is it the Casio camera
from your video they have many interesting things. nationality rooms are very expressive. you have to go to 3 to reach 2?
Now Otis Compass Plus
its i believe the 1st or second largest educational buildings in the western hemisphere, H2P
Do you know when the elevators were put in?
1971, the building was built between 1926-1932 but the original elevators were replaced with Westinghouse Selectomatic, those elevators were recently replaced in 2015 with Otis Compass Plus
They might not be allowed to because it is historic and I think they have to be kept this way.
modernizing these elevators would be a HUGE mistake.
sometimes its open, mot of the time its locked
You don't go to Pitt do you?
IS THIS PLACE FROM THE 50'S???
No, it was built between 1926-1934 in stages.
the casio can record more and it has battery battery for long videos
And a huge mess!!
