It was quite rare to see that Lee Chongwei's attack was perfectly handled in this manner. Chen Long was glorious in defense, a real master of it.

Yang Devon right. I could be wrong, but it seems like among the singles players, he does the stare downs the most. Could be a nice guy in person, but on the court, his fight-or-flight instinct kicks in all the time. If we’re talking about being a “gentleman”, no one more gentleman than Chen Long.

Lee's mistake was playing flat and fast rallies way too early in the game. The final in 2014 was where Lee played with so much finesse and handsomely won over Chen Long.
Lee should be more aggressive in attacking because that’s what Lin den and Chen does against him
many people think Lee is better than Chen, but it's partially right. Lee played an offensive n beautiful styles, he had lots of winner because of his power smash. But besides, he makes more faults than Chen. Chen is play a more safe style, he did half-power smash instead of full power smash. And, he make less fault. Audiences like the powerful smash, so because of this (might be), they think LCW is in an higher class to Chen, but the matter here is about the playstyle, and the performance. Both of them are standing in the highest class of the world. Dont compare

I find that hard to believe...Not too long ago, if you see the olympic game between Chen-long and LCW, you can see LCW playing a totally different level.
I think LCW needs some time to get back up to speed...in WC 2013 we will probably playing his best game.
That's true, everyone besides the eventual champion CHEN Long scored equal to or less than 12 points in a game. But CHEN just wouldn't die! His defense is superb!

chen long is too stiff. LCW and LD are still the best badminton players this era.
It doesn't matter in terms of titles. You can say LEE is the greatest all you want, but he was NEVER a world champion nor Olympic champion, but CHEN and LIN were!
Jinjinaka Palayam Peter grade is a great player indeed, but not a world champion material for sure. Great because he has contributed so much to the badminton community and being one of the top badminton players that stay competitive enough for very long . You can call him a legend but not a champion
Stiff? He has two world titles. Chong Wei has none. He has an Olympic gold after one try. Chong Wei has none after three. If anything this guy is underrated and underpromoted. They keep talking about four legends. This guy is the fifth.
@@KeithHiew I dont deny Chen Long is good, but his movement aint as fluid as compared to Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei. There is a difference in level. That is why it is more challenging for him to maintain a consistent form. Kento Momota looks like the next rising start with very fluid movement on court.

I disagree. Though LCW is not tall, but he is a very physical player, fast, strong legs, good court coverage, fast attacking. If you want to write a textbook for badminton, you can use LCW. If you notice the last few points of the match, Chen Long did not just passively responded to LCW with solid defense, but take great initiatives to go offensive. Look at 20-18, how could you say CL is not exciting to watch? I can't believe You even think Lee Hyun Il enjoyable? His style is so boring..
Chen Long is tall, fast, and strong. His court coverage is excellent. He won all right but I just can't see the glamour we find in LCW or LD. He just smashes, blocks and sends the shuttle to the rear courts. He did all the basics to perfection. Next time, when LCW faces CL again, by varying his tactics, LCW will win CL again.
It is so boring to watch Chen Long and Du Pengyu. It's so much fun to watch LD and LCW. It's so enjoyable to watch Peter Gade, Taufik, Boonsak Ponsana, Li Hyun Il.
I don't get your point by categorizing LEE Hyun Il with others on your list -- he is the most boring player out of all of them! Also, playing like LIN Dan and LEE Chong Wei is extremely demanding in terms of physical strength, not everyone can reach that level! And that is why most of the players are defensive players.

He's washed up has-been. His emergence was in-between the steady decline of LCW-LD & the meteoric rise of youngsters such as Momota, Viktor, Ginting, LZJ and co. He's great player but his peak was very short-lived.

Nope however good they are, they have to train everyday to make sure their technique doesn't rust over time. Plus they have a passion for playing the sport so they don't exactly hate the training

soo sad Lee Chong Wei lost this game i wished he won this game he deserved it. Yes Chen Long is good but i think Lee Chong Wei is still better. Only the pressure is maybe to much for Lee Chong Wei at some kind of tournaments I hope that Lee Chong Wei will win the next All England. Also I'm a Lin Dan fan and I'm also enjoying games between LCW and Lin Dan more than this one. But i love the speed games and a lovely game is when both players are equal to eachother
