Lol yep you’re right about that. I kept yelling “stop trying to pry the hex off, it unscrews” 😂😂 Nice video. I absolutely love my Grom! You’re right, upgrades on cheap trucks don’t make much practical sense financially, but, it’s part of the hobby guys like us enjoy. As soon as my LHS starts getting the upgraded parts I’m gonna start on mine too 😁
I’ve got 2 groms, I’m keeping one stock for a control and the other is getting everything I can throw at it, brushless, aluminum only where it makes sense, bigger wheels and big bore shocks. I run mine HARD at the skate park, I’ve seen both truck 30+ feet in the air off a vert ramp land in any configuration you can imagine and they just zip off like you just took it out of the box, 10/10 one of my favorite Rc and 110% recommend to anybody in the hobby
Note I’ve had them for about 3 months now and my only issue has been the dinky plastic diff couplers, but jb weld temporarily or possibly permanently fixed that issue lol
I took the spring tension clips off the shocks and cut the front springs down a little to get the suspension to droop and it handles more like a hobby grade and less like a toy. It is 5x better handling.
Great video! Horizon did right and released an ESC/receiver/servo mount for upgrades. Their part number is ARA320753. A side note with those SLT transmitters, it has to be one of the new dual protocol SR215/315 receivers. The older ones were only compatible with the DSMR protocol.

3:43 was not expecting that either. Commentary made me laugh. Cool stuff! 👍

Little tuck looksgood, I might have to pick one up now!!! Let's get some skate park video!!
No skate parks around here, lol. I would if I could
AT Ease, ... They sell a 3d printed servo ESC mount for grom on ebay for like $8 shipped.
Thanks.
Some people need to read the parts diagram! REALLY
Agreed, lol
So new esc makes it faster? More juice to brushed motor? What receiver part number did you use?}😮
It is a more efficient esc so a bit faster. Using a 315 rx
Nice video, do you have a link to the screwdriver/multitool you are using?
That tool comes with the Grom
You can just unscrew the servo from the mount
Yep, I just chose not to.
3s?
