Walking Through the Streets of Taipei, Taiwan
Taipei just might be my favourite city I've ever been to.
Great, I was there a week ago. It’s a very underrated place.
I agree.
What's the average expenses per day?
@@mr.mod11 As a Taiwanese living in Taipei city, I typically spend around 13 USD per day.
Such a beautiful place, so many things to do. We are planning to go back. Excellent video.
Lived all over Asia, Taiwan for 5 yrs, currently in Japan. Taiwan is the best country in Asia,if not the world, for quality of life in so many ways. Food, people, sights, costs, weather, the best.
Its under rated.. Everyone talks. Bangkok. Seoul , Tokyo and such.. Taiwan is no joke.
@@ZGSPG I believe they are a Country. They have their own flag right?
@@ZGSPG Yes it is a country, It has a different passport. Can you bigland nongs travel visa free to most of Europe and America? Didnt thinnk so, seems like two veeeeery different countries and cultures.
@@ZGSPG Umm a concept is by definition not clearly defined by laws or regulations. The PRC and ROC are different, and one has the ability to travel freely and vote for who it wants to rule the country and the other....no choice at all. Why would a European want to go to a dirty, polluted, corrupt country where everyone is controlled like a robot and could die from a new disease every month. Taiwan for the win!
明远 well I assume you would agree that if they wanted to leave China they should be allowed. Like Hong Kong right??
Taiwan is amazing place to travel. China wants it back in a fold but it is currently independent country, hopefully stay that way.
@TigroTom
🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼
@Every Word Is A Made-Up Word That's right. Taiwan was never administered by the PRC. That's something that they don't want you to know.
这是中国内战遗留问题,台湾是中国的一部分
Gabriel i believe you had mentioned in one of your videos before Nepal you were cutting down in your videos of travelling... I thank you for not going ahead with it because you have many fans and we always look forward to seeing you and sharing your travels. Stay safe and keep it going!
Nice to see you in a new country.
Booked a flight to Taipei yesterday.. great timing to make this video 😃
I'm stoked! You are finally here on this island.
I'm stoked too. Nice island.
seems very clean, orderly. looks great. JDS/CT
Been waiting for you to visit Taiwan for a while now!
Amazing timing with this one
Thank you so much for this. Very interesting and great how you let the pictures speak for themselves. One of my favourite You Tubers
Looks a fascinating country. Love people watching 🙂❤️🙂
great stuff... keep on travelling...
Cool video Gabriel.... definitely a lot to see there... Safe travels.. 😎👍
Awesome walk through Taipei! This is really amazing! My friend ActionKid just left there on January 4th, he also did tours through there! Amazing timing Gabriel, now I really want to visit there this year.
Hi Gabriel, Thank you for your videos, they have being helping me a lot on my trips.
Always give Gabriel a thumbs up! I did a brief two night stopover in Taipei...poured rain....need to go back and tour around. Keep travelling!!

Hello my favorite traveler! 👋
George Constantinou forsure 🍂🍁
memories i was there last month great place
Cant wait to watch!
gabe, been following you for years- I've traveled in a similar fashion-enjoy your videos, thanks
Leon
Welcome to Taiwan !
Thanks.
Cool video, but i think you did a little of mistakes in talking about Taiwanese political situation.
I'm glad you hit the point that not as much people in the World knows about Taiwan indipendence, and that's because of PCR.
Taiwan (or Republic of China) was recognized as the true Chinese Nation until 1971, when it decided to quit the UN.
After that time, for economic reasons, more and more states began to recognize the PRC as the real china. (so to speak, I am Italian, and my government has more interest in taking the billions of dollars that PCR invests in Italy without thinking about it too much).
Although not recognized, Taiwan does not belong to the PCR. The communist revolution of Mao, has never ever, taken root in the island, but china claims it equally.
And by the way, only PCR recognizes the principle "one state two systems" among Taiwan.
Hi Mattia, I'm not sure which point I made that you're disagreeing with, but to be clear I never said that Taiwan was a part of China, only that it's not recognized by the international community as being fully independent and that it doesn't have UN representation.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos You do not need others to recognized you as a human being. Any air plane or ship come to Taiwan without permission will be sink. If Taiwan is not fully independent then who has the power above Taiwan government? If one day your government decide to quit UN then your country is not a country anymore?
The billions of investments have a string attached, actually, many strings. China infiltrates the host country's political system with the intention of subverting it to make it an image if the Chinese totalitarian regime. It's a slow process and before the citizens realize this, their government has become a copy of the PRC. The most advanced example is Venezuela. Serbia is progressing far along that route too. Too bad for China that their virus has woken up the world to their vile intentions.
Fascinating. Thank you for the walk. Glad you got this in before COVID-19 was impacting our daily lives.
Yeah great video very clear well done.
Your work is top shelf
Nice way to hear the natural sounds of the city...as if walking with U...👍
Love Taipei. Great city!
Thanks,Gabe 😍😍😍
People in this country are so polite that they have a problem using the word NO...nice people, will be interesting to see where you are going next there. Some nice hiking maybe...
Having problem saying NO is not being polite but hypocrite
A blessed day sir Gabriel There In Taiwan Thank u so much sir Gabriel for your nice excellent walking around the beautiful and very modern high tech city Ximen of Taiwan Wowwww I love this place quiet and Very clean streets thank you keep safe sir Gariel have a nice journey trip Godbless u from your solid fan viewer from The Philippines sir vhin.🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😇😇😇😇😇😇🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Spent 7 years there. Brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for sharing Gabriel.
are Taiwenese religious ?? Or which religion they follow? Do they take it seriously??
Can u tell me
कट्टर मुसलमान Predominantly Buddhist, of course there are a small percent of christians and other religions. In my experience most follow their version of Buddhism seriously.
Peace Advocate we Taiwanese embrace and respect all religions but evil one.
Even people like who have no religion.
Every God live in some of people’s mind and no other one should against them for theirs.
That is Taiwan, Loved by every God on earth especially during current pandemic outbreak from very beginning.
Great video i dont understand why the thumbs down so much...dont let that stop your travel spirits buddy!
Welcome to travel to my country! Taiwan ! Taiwan is a beautiful Treasure Island that worth exploring. The food 、the culture、 the mountain、 the sea、 the fall 、the hot spring...especially the people's generosity、 hospitality and kindness. Thanks for your sharing! Nice video! Welcome to visit us again!
Nice video you got here. Showing neat Taipei street and some wonderful street food stands in the tape, got to try that dragon fruit, it's sweet. Yeah, baby!
Thank you Gabriel 😊❤
I used to volunteer in a hostel there. Miss this city!
Are Taiwenese religious according to you ?
@@user-hm2ni6lg3j Sorry, I've no clue about that.
Marvelous Taiwan... Ciao... Gabriel... Mille grazie for this excellent video... 💞
Beautiful.
Tq sharing your great vedeo👍👍👍✌️✌️
Nice
Another City, I would love to visit 😁.
Hello!
The city of Taipei is lively!
The carp is very beautiful.
I think it is a wonderful city with its historic buildings.
Thank you for such a wonderful video!
Amazing that you are in Taiwan. Besides Mandarin language they also have their own aboriginal Taiwanese language very different from Mandarin. You can also visit Taichung city (Central Taiwan) and Kaohsiung city in south of Taiwan. South of Taiwan is different from North. You can travel easy from North to South by using THSR. The local food is fantastic. I also suggest you visit Shifen Waterfall it is in Pingxi District, New Taipei City.
The dragonfruits are my favourite fruit along with passion fruit to have in my Asian smoothie, but only the pink/red variety. The white ones are really bland and disappointing but those pink/red ones are like a mixed berry kinda flavour. They are a cactus fruit too which is awesome to see
nice video
Hi, if I were there, I'd say hello to you.
Welcome to Taipei.
Dude, as I was watching your previous video yesterday I was wandering if you'd ever go to Taiwan on your trips.
Cool. Here I am.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Very nice. I'll be there in a couple of months as well and everywhere I look the universe has been throwing Taiwan into my face lately.
Very beautiful 😍👍
Amazing 😉.....Enjoy
Be sure to try the Pork Bun at the Roahe Night Market, before you leave.
So Gab what did you think about Taipei? I went for the first time last summer I really liked it it definitely impressed me
Great video! I've started to do similar ones where I'm living in Guadalajara :)
Right on, how do you like Guadalajara? I'd like to visit there, I've heard good things.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos It's really good. Tons to do, the food is good, people are great, not too many gringos! :D
Any plans for Ho chi minh city? i will be there in Feb
Hope you get a chance to try Taiwan’s world famous high mountain oolong teas.
i wish you could do the video of Beijing to Lhasa train journey 😊
Me too, I'd love to go to Tibet. We'll see, maybe sometime.
Wow nice, its very clean city ,when is this gonna happen in my country India 😫
Awesome! You gonna love Taiwan! 🇹🇼 👍
Yeah I like it a lot. I'll have to come back sometime to explore more.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos For sure! Lots of amazing places to go in Taiwan!

@@GabrielTravelerVideos thanks!
I'm curious about tour accommodations and the price. I'm always curious about that.
Sorry about the weirdo who commented. My next video will be about prices.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I meant to type YOUR accommodations, not Tour. Thank you.
Hi there any chance you could tell me what camera you use? 📷
its in the description, gopro 7
If your looking for places to go next after you go back home and rest up for a bit Gabe my suggestion would be the amazon jungle in peru. I was there last year and the year before that and it truly is the best place on earth, even tried the ayahuasca lol strong stuff that!
Peru is my next trip. Anything I should see besides the usual red mountain and Machu Picchu
Mike Freeman the Amazon jungle dude, go to a city called Iquitos. Everyone there makes it easy to find a good tour where you can sleep deep in the jungle
Watching from the Philippines. 15TH
Taiwan is great! Flashback from 2009 :-)
Have you been to Ho Chi Min City? (Vietnam). Very busy also
No, I haven't been there. I visited northern Vietnam: czcams.com/users/gabejedmosearch?query=Vietnam
Dunno if it was on your end or mine..with my volume on high..I could barely hear you..Safe Travels..Thank You For Share 💖
Strange. No one else has commented that it was a problem. I just checked on my phone and it sounds fine.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos it was on my end..I had to restart my phone..thank you 💖
It seems to be Chinese cultural tradition to have colorful night lights around the city as I have experienced that on Mainland China.
How come you don’t do the central Africa and safaris
terrorists control central africa.
8:01 the greatest strett food place in Asia (apart from roache night market)
03:29 the nike building used to be tower records
I am Taiwanese. Wish I have the opportunity to buy you a meal to thanks the greatest trekker on Earth.
Are Taiwenese religious ?? Because i've heard most Chinese or Taiwenese are not religious at all nd are atheists .
People here believe in deity in purpose, such as fortune, family, business and gamble. Evveryone knows there is no god.
Why is it ...that on any video of a busy street any where in the world there is always some random guy walking with a ladder ??
I think it's Murphy's Law...or Occam's Razor. Maybe a Catch-22. Or just synchronicity. One of those things.
Hey Gab,
Love your vids over the years. I’m also a world traveller ( 76 countries so far) I’ve lived 8 years in Taiwan, speak Chinese & can show you around if you want.
I live in Taoyuan City ( near Airport) & have a spare room here if you want. Welcome to Taiwan 🇹🇼
& hope to meet up if time permits. Lots to see, do, eat, explore & experience here.
Thanks for the offer, I just flew today from Taiwan to Manila, Philippines.
Gabriel Traveler right on, enjoy Manila, lots of travellers stay in Malatte. Friendly’d guesthouse is pretty good. Have fun!!
Hi gab. Why are you not using hero 8?
Various problems with it. The audio fades out randomly sometimes. I need to return it once I get back home to the US.
Gabriel, I just finished watching this Taipei video, very beautiful. May I suggest you something, move your camera a bit slower, removed the super wide angle set setting, those setting are like being on a small boat in bad weather on the high seas. Thank you🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼
YOOOO GABRIELLL CAN WE MEETT
IM CURREN TLY IN TAIPEIII , IM SUCH A BIG FAN OF YOUUU
Have you ever been to Borneo?
Yes, to Kota Kinabalu: czcams.com/users/gabejedmosearch?query=Kota+Kinabalu
Massive underground commercial walkways, you can get lost in it.
I like the video more
How easy is it to get around there if you only know English and not Mandarin? Is it doable? I want to go.
It's pretty easy. Quite a few Taiwanese speak English and otherwise you can figure things out.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Thanks Gabriel you rock man!!!
How cool is it in taiwan?
Very cool. But if you mean the temperature, it's 68F or 20C.
People look very nice but the city seems like a colourful big store.
Why don’t you use a translator app during all your travels
Gabriel, come visit Hong Kong again, best time to visit Hong Kong now, riots have stopped, accommodation is much cheaper due to the riots, hk$200 for 3 stars hotels, guest houses like the one you stayed last time are even much lower than 200, and winter temperature is comfortable
left thailand already?
Hi you are amazing wonderful we love you we always watch your videos and enjoy thanks the only problem is or the only request is to please make good videos means change your camera or please don't move your camera very fast we get dizziness, ues a gimbal or change the camera or method of making video
Thanks
Hei Gabe the video is too Goproeeeee!!
👍
It's filmed in superview to show more of the scene, but it also distorts the video and makes it look a little weird.
There are 3 types of dragon fruit, according to wikipedia:
Hylocereus undatus (Pitaya blanca or white-fleshed pitaya) has pink-skinned fruit with white flesh. This is the most commonly seen "dragon fruit".
Hylocereus costaricensis (Pitaya roja or red-fleshed pitaya, also known as Hylocereus polyrhizus) has red-skinned fruit with red flesh.
Hylocereus megalanthus (Pitaya amarilla or yellow pitaya, also known as Selenicereus megalanthus) has yellow-skinned fruit with white flesh.
Had the most delicious Dragon fruit I bought in Guatemala. Was red on the inside.
Cool, thanks for the info. It all makes sense now.
From Thailand to Taiwan what a nice journey ! ❤️
From Taiwan to Thailand would be not a nice journey ?
It was a nice journey. Direct three-hour flight from Bangkok, pretty easy (plus a short flight from Ko Samui).
From Siam to Formosa.

Did I miss something; what happened to Thailand?
I was there a couple weeks but didn't do much filming, so just two videos from Thailand.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Thanks. I'm ejoying your Taiwanese vids.
The dialect ofMandarin spoken therein is Fukien, so I understand thus far.
Interesting, thanks for the info. Do you speak Mandarin Chinese?
@@GabrielTravelerVideos My pleasure! :) :)
Nah, nah,. nah ... I do not speak any dialect of Chinese.
