Not to be a downer but the catch with MK8’s expansion pass is that all of the tracks seem to be Mario Kart Tour courses that were touched up a bit. The courses look way less detailed, they aren’t 1:1 from Tour but the tracks look really empty and bland compared to any of the tracks from MK8D. For 25 bucks it’s not a terrible deal but it isn’t the miracle deal some are making it out to be, they’re mobile game courses Nintendo ported over for cheap. It’s less Mario Kart 9/Ultimate and more Mario Kart Tour Remastered.

@@UncleAlPlus Yeah, it’s still definitely not a bad deal. A lot of people will be quick to point out that a couple of the courses in this pack aren’t in Tour yet like Coconut Mall but they were datamined for that game ages ago. They never ended up releasing for Tour and now we know why.
I honestly doubt that Nintendo is going to do Microtransactions, mainly because for each piece of gear, something goes up but something also goes down. Also not only isn’t there an option for it, but usually micro transaction games have a little plus next to the currency which is absent for Strikers. I hope to god I’m right, but I don’t want anyone to be surprised if they do happen

i'm not too concerned about microtransactions in strikers. every gear option seems to have an equal stat decrease so i think it's just a standard unlock system to customize character stats to be what you want
I honestly think the in-game currency and and gear might be similar to Splatoon. You obtain it from just playing the game and you use it to buy the appropriate gear you need to create a play style that you like and can play effectively with. However, that doesn’t mean you’re a god either. You still need to be at least competent to use this play style to the fullest. If not, you can still get destroyed, no matter how good your load out may be in theory. So yeah, moral of the story is I’m excited for the game, and I ain’t worried lol

Personally for me this was the best direct every, xenoblade 3, mk8 dlc, new wii sports and a metroid dread boss rush hit the right spot. I know it’s not for everyone but I really liked this one.
I agree with you on this. It may be sad that Nintendo ain't doing the switch's very own mario kart, but 48 new retro courses+tour tracks is pretty consumer friendly. I'm also cautiously optimistic about mario strikers, I hope it doesn't use the finish it later approach. I don't think there's gonna be microtransactions though. (knocks on wood) I wish we got a new dk game though.
My thoughts on the direct: -Mario Strikers battle league: I'm going into this game cautiously optimistic. I'm verry worried that it'll end up like mario golf super rush -Splatoon 3: I'm looking forward to it. But unless you missed out on 2. I don't see much of a reason to get it unless they add some new modes and weapons to play with. -Kirby and forgotten land: It's shaping up to be a blast. -Mario Kart 8 DLC: It's cool but why now? -Portal on switch: This was a suprise. -Switch sports: I'm probably going to pass on this one.

I'm pretty sure strikers won't have micro transactions but we'll see. if the courses from mk8 are all from the mobile game, that would kinda suck. I thought they had taken them from the og games and I also hope they use an orchestrated Ost again. this was actually a pretty hype direct for me so I do hope it'll be cool when it all comes out.

Mario Stikers Battl League was a pleasant surprise because I wanted a new Mario Strikers for years and while I’m stocked for this game to come out is 2 things: 1- Like you said the cosmetic thing is worrying. 2- The character roster being like 8 characters and “new” characters being added in future free updates. Also put Petey Piranha as a character.
I loved klonoa getting something on a new system!!!! Seriously it is a neglected gem that hasn't had anything proper since the Wii era. I do agree that Nintendo is just...doing too much Fire Emblem, and might be putting too much faith in triangle strategy. Beginnings and Earthbound for Switch would be an immediate purchase if it wasn't tied down by being an online service thing. The Kingdom Hearts cloud is...awful, I do not know what made them think cloud gaming for KH on switch was a good idea. And baseball is...good for those who want it, the rep launching himself away at the end was the highlight. Virtually everything else was at least interesting or great to see Live A Live, Chrono Cross, the Gundam 3d fighter (hey, It's Big Zam! ) and even the footnote games like the Lego smash bros with Mounts look interesting
2:34 - I completely agree on wanting them to add Koopa Beach, mostly because I adore the music that plays on those tracks, also the dull sand and bright blue clear water could look so pretty if "remastered" and it just gives me this bittersweet but calming vibe. I would also love to see it get an underwater section too.
This Direct was pretty alright in my book. There wasn't much filler, the pacing was solid, and it felt like everyone had something to look forward to. Mario Kart was the standout for me, too. Even if the courses aren't gonna have the same amount of polish as vanilla 8 did, just the fact that the game is essentially doubling its content is insane enough for me to wanna put down the money. I'm going into Mario Strikers super cautious since Tennis and Golf really stung. Granted, this game is NOT being developed by Camelot thankfully, but the whole incomplete free update thing is how I'm conditioned to look at Nintendo's multiplayer games now. They basically confirmed that Nintendo Switch Sports would be unfinished at launch, too, which further proves my point. Plus, 3 of the 6 games that'll be there at launch are just ball rally games, nothing that really stands out. And Splatoon 3 continues to not justify its existence which is lovely. Otherwise, Advance Wars looks surprisingly great, Xenoblade 3 is pretty cool, No Man's Sky and Portal ports were pleasant announcements, Live A Live looks like it could be interesting, and I'm sure Kirby looks great, but I refuse to watch any trailers because of spoilers, so I'll take your word for it. So it definitely wasn't a Direct that set the world on fire, but it was still one I could walk out of in a decent mood.
That fact that their adding more tracks in mario kart 8 make me feel like Nintendo is doing everything in their power to not make mario kart 9 is just hilarious. That new mario strikers game is great I have a soft spot for the wii game so I'm definitely getting it. Also glad they finally add earthbound to NSO I honestly thought we would never get it, so that neat. Kirby is definitely fun I love 3D open world games so Nintendo Direct is really good in my book
While I am hyped to get a new Strikers game I have this sense of "how much are they going to detract from Strikers Charged?". I can already tell that they won't let their characters be as expressive as they were before since if Super Rush taught us anything Nintendo's new mantra is "Fun for All Ages = Flat, Bland, and Safe" but I've also noticed that there seems to only be one field with each half getting reskinned for each team, which for the competitive focus I think they're going for is fine but what does that mean for other fields.
Wait, Mario Kart sold 48 mil? I thought it was at 23 mil like last year. Wtf Mario Kart 8s gonna feel like CTGP now with like triple the tracks of any other kart game in the series.
Tbh my issue with the mario kart dlc is that the graphics are pretty underwhelming. Doesn't look as modern as other retro tracks. Seems like they just ripped tracks from the mobile game. Good deal still, but just wish it was prettier.

I think Nintendo has ran out of gimmicks they can feasably make for a mario kart, so they are saving Nintendo Kart for Switch 2. They saw the demand and decided to make Mario Kart 8 the equivalent of Smash Ultimate, but didn't want to put much effort in. At this point I hope they add Tour characters like Birdo, Kamek, Diddy, Funky, and if they ever add him, E Gadd to round out the roster.
Everytime I watch someone react or stream a Nintendo Direct, at least once I hear "I'm happy for _ fans, but I'm not gonna check it out" and I'm not sure how to describe how it makes me feel.
I feel like they'll have single player story mode which you can get coins to buy the gear as well as winning online matches you get rewarded coins at least that's what I think
The coin count in mario strikers doesn’t have a little plus sign next to it to let you buy more coins, which does lower the chance somewhat of microtransactions being in Mario strikers since Nintendo usually have that little prompt next to the currency count to entice you to buy more of it
Out of the 50 comments here, the 3 things you should take away from the new mario strikers is 1. I feel like if there were gonna be micro transactions, Nintendo would’ve mentioned the fact it would be f2p or try to hype up that “there’s now awesome new mushroom crystals” to enhance your character with real life money or something along those lines 2. When the game is released, veterans with the series will be disappointed, and newcomers will be impressed. They removed the sidekicks added in the wii version and no new characters were shown, so presumably they’ve decided to replace the bigger roster with unique movesets and more diversity with ugly cosmetics that probably require grinding games as an excuse to fill out the lack of content I’m 99% sure there isn’t. no new items were shown, no new modes were shown, (even mario golf had speed golf), no different stadiums with different gimmicks were shown. And it’s a mario sports game on switch. Tennis aces and rushed golf both followed that formula. However. I think they’re trying to improve upon the basic formula of both games, and that formula was really really incredible, I expect this game to be a great tech demo for the next mario strikers game or to become great after months of updates when nobody cares about it anymore. 3. I gotta disagree with u on the Mario strikers thing. Nintendo doesn’t do micros in their AAA titles like this. It’s no different then buying gear in an RPG to raise your stats with coins u earn from quests. Literally no different.

Sorry for the incoming wall of text; but I feel like I should try to at least 'defend' Mario Strikes. I am completely certain that the game will have no microtransactions for one reason: history. Nintendo's pretty damn stuck in their ways, and for as much bad as it's been, there's some definite good in there. Nintendo (to my knowledge, please let me know otherwise) has never put in microtransactions for a paid game on console. Every time Nintendo has put in microtransactions for a game, its been free-to-play. Pokemon Rumble World, Pokemon Picross, Pokemon Shuffle, Kirby Clash Deluxe, Kirby Super Clash Deluxe, Pokemon Unite, etc.. If you ask me, one of the better things Nintendo has done has been their approaches to DLC. The Smash Fighter Passes, BoTW DLC, hell as much as I hate SwSh, I'll admit the DLC for those games were fair. And now, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Racer Pass is a pretty damn good deal. $25 for 48 tracks? That's damn near 2 tracks for 1 dollar. I don't care if they are lifted directly from tour, that's a pretty damn good deal. I don't think there'll be any sort of microtransactions for this game. And my final argument for said stance: think about it. If Nintendo WERE to start putting microtransactions for their paid console releases, then why the hell would they start with Mario Strikers? Why not another, more popular game like; I don't know, Mario Kart? I truly do love this company, and that's why I criticize it to no end. I want to see it rise above their shitty corporate decisions. Despite that, I will defend this company's actions on DLC until they start shitting the bed, and I don't think we need to worry about this microtransaction deal with Strikers.
I honestly hope theres a mode where we can play with out the power ups and gear! The gear does have me worried especially online, you know theres gonna be hype azz people that play everyday all day and have every gear available, it better be off when playing online!
You do the same with mario kart, where if you don't have car pieces you demand for everyone not to have them available and just run with standard kart? Nah, just unlock things then go online if you mind it that much. Also the stats total should remain the same, since every gear boosts a stats while nerfing another.
One thing i hope for the new Strikers is unlockable characters, cuz while I'm SUPER disappointed that my main girl Daisy isn't in the base roster, i wouldn't mind if she was an unlockable along with other characters such as Diddy and Petey. Maybe we'll get new fellas like Pauline and Toadette?
My biggest fear with strickers is getting the Tennis Aces treatment, we only have seen 10 characters and one stadium, I need at least another trailer to made me 100% HYPED But mario kart, even with the not smexy graphics... I have to say, this direct was actually interesting, and it's been a long time since I've had interest in it, or actually watched it. You got me into watching you stream the direct! The Mario Kart is certainly really interesting to see, the kirby... cursed, but a new idea, Mario strikers, an amazing game brought back to life, but feels... lacking? It's brighter palette, lack of kremlings, and in game currency is a turn off, but I'll see if it's worth it when it comes out. Switch sports... killing miis off destroyed what defined the games, but the environments are really pretty. A bunch of other things added like free metroid updates and Kolona are also looking really nice! So yea, this certainly was better than the previous ones, besides the lack of donkey kong,,, still, a pleasure to watch it with you!
Strikers was the Highlight for me. I played the Gamecume one slot with my friends to the point they hate playing me at it. I'm a little worried about how it will play that I'm hoping it's still as crunchy and strategic as the OG one but here's hoping. Mario Kart was a huge surprise since this Deluxe didn't feel like it really added anything completely new but I'm down for it. Wii Sports was fine. I'm honestly just their for Bowling and maybe Tennis I honestly thought Nintendo was going to pull a full Gamer move and say along with Earthbound Beginnings they would also release Mother 3 but maybe if the amount of people that play Earthbound today really go all in on it, maybe by the Summer they'll release it. And honestly I didn't even know there was a Xenoblade Chronicles 2, so that's how much I cared about that reveal. Pretty fine Direct all around.

I think it’s a bit lame that this DLC isn’t coming with characters. They could’ve added characters from Tour like Pauline, Dixie Kong, and King Bob-omb.
This new strikers isn't exactly what I was hoping for. Ideas for strikers 3 Trophies and cup battles: vast and lovely like in the 1st game. The Cup Battles should have normal and super cup battles like in the first game. And the trophies should get bigger shinier and with lovelier detail in the higher difficulties. Captains: Have them be better than all the sidekicks and have their own special abilities super strike and mega strike. Like maybe the super strike of a captain be like a fully charged shot of a sidekick. Examples like Mario's being a fireball that burns and stuns the goalie leaving an opening for a goal for Mario or a teammate. And for Luigi maybe the same but with green fire. They could do like a 2 or 3 point score like in the first game. Keeping the megastrikes the same though. But with different ways to block em that arent motion controlled Sidekicks: vast and customizeable like Charged but none being OP. As well as adding in more sidekicks like Magikoopas Chargin chucks and bloopers items: Same as in the 1st game. Courses: More like the 1st game's courses with limited hazards Losing animations: Some captains having animayions where they attack enemy players like Bowser grabbing an enemy player and breathing fire at their face and Wario sitting on an opponent and farting on them. Inspired by Petey eating an opponent in Charged. Other customizations: outfit colors and details. Also keep the charged armor and ball Most of all, make it balanced and fair and depending on player skill. Another thing. Use more of that cool sketchy art style from the gamecube game's cover art.
4:30 fair point, counter point, what if this is like how it is in Smash Bros you know how at the end of each game you get a few coins you can buy stuff in the shop like how it is with the gear. It could be possible that new gear down the line might have micro transactions like with Mii outfits but I don't think it would be that the coins can be bought with real money though I could be wrong but just saying.
Still getting strikers, You probably get them in game, the free update stuff, that's more likely honestly I never had an issue with it if the game is fun then I pay and see if it's worth it, Mario Kart DLC is my top priority, finally a reason to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe again.
Honestly the thing that concerns me about strikers is just that looks very corporate and clean in terms of presentation compared to how raw Charged was. Like the cinematics feel slow and weak and without that oomph that charged had. Also they clearly toned down on the violence which is what Super Charged was kinda known and loved for. Well maybe thats just me looking too much into things. The gameplay looks at ok least. It does look slower and im not sure about the whole orb thing. Well the box art looks cool. Thats a plus lol.
Im not concerned about the gear unlocks in strikers. Both previous mario sports games had a similar system. Tennis had purchasable rackets that didnt have microtransactions and golf had the club set upgrades that also didnt use microtransactions. Nintendo hasnt really pushed microtransactions much if at all in there mainline console games, outside of expansions for games which im totally ok with
The thing about the gear in Strikers is that they all seem to be very balanced. For whatever they add to one stat, they remove from a different stat. Because of that, I heavily doubt that microtransactions will be in the game. There would be no real statistical benefit in buying currency for gear that isn't a net positive benefit. I could be wrong, but I'm like 76% sure that I'm right. Call it a hunch
I'm thrilled with what's been shown with Mario Strikers: Battle League. I trust Next Level Games, they're keeping the style and hyper aggressive gameplay intact. Microtransactions are a stretch, as disgusting as stuff like Mario Kart Tour and Pokémon Unite are with monetization, Nintendo hasn't fallen that far into the darkness yet with putting disgusting monetization in their console games. Next Level Games, considering their track record, I think Battle League will be fine. But about the same as you, this, Kirby, and 8's DLC were the highlights of the Direct.
I don't see this as a problem for Mario Strikers. Splatoon does has in game currency to upgrade gears and weapons as well without microstransaction. Guess we'll have to see ^^
On the Mario Strikers thing, you don't need to worry. The only games Nintendo implemented micro transactions into were their mobile games, none of their console games have micro transactions so you don't need to worry. Pretty sure the in game currency will be earned in game

Also, nintendo never considered NFTs, they just said that they didn't have any current plans in them, which is a statement that was solely made to please invest without outright confirming that they'll start it.
if they make it so in the new mario strikers that you earn coins by winning games and have no microtransactions then the cosmetics changing stats wouldn't be that bad really. but if it does have microtransactions then yeah not good.
I don’t understand why wii sports needs free updates. It’s wii sports it’s a tech demo game, and on top of that a party game. Mario Kart 8 dlc kind of has me conflicted. I’m not upset, new tracks is cool but yeah dlc for a 5 year old port of a 9 year old game is kind of bizarre. I know that strikers won’t be as “in your face” as before. No way Nintendo will allow Waluigi to crotch chop, and I really really hope that Mario strikers doesn’t go down the route of what Mario golf did with their win and lose animations. Those genuinely gave the original two strikers a bonus of 80 points. As for micro transactions, I genuinely hope not but given recent history it’s probably likely. The cosmetic system by itself is something I welcome. Customization is cool for a game like this, but the stats thing is a bit of an interesting choice to go. I don’t care about fire emblem, people who like fire emblem only pretend to like it so they don’t feel upset when a fire emblo gets in smash. And big chungus in splatoon

As someone who loved both the bosses and unforgiving difficulty of Dread, a free extreme mode and boss rush is exactly what I wanted!

Mario Stikers Battl League was a pleasant surprise because I wanted a new Mario Strikers for years and while I’m stocked for this game to come out is 2 things:
1- Like you said the cosmetic thing is worrying.
2- The character roster being like 8 characters and “new” characters being added in future free updates. Also put Petey Piranha as a character.
I loved klonoa getting something on a new system!!!! Seriously it is a neglected gem that hasn't had anything proper since the Wii era. I do agree that Nintendo is just...doing too much Fire Emblem, and might be putting too much faith in triangle strategy. Beginnings and Earthbound for Switch would be an immediate purchase if it wasn't tied down by being an online service thing. The Kingdom Hearts cloud is...awful, I do not know what made them think cloud gaming for KH on switch was a good idea. And baseball is...good for those who want it, the rep launching himself away at the end was the highlight. Virtually everything else was at least interesting or great to see Live A Live, Chrono Cross, the Gundam 3d fighter (hey, It's Big Zam! ) and even the footnote games like the Lego smash bros with Mounts look interesting
Dude, Mario Strikers Charged was legit one of the best Mario sports titles IMO. You should play it, it's an absolute banger!
2:34 - I completely agree on wanting them to add Koopa Beach, mostly because I adore the music that plays on those tracks, also the dull sand and bright blue clear water could look so pretty if "remastered" and it just gives me this bittersweet but calming vibe. I would also love to see it get an underwater section too.
This Direct was pretty alright in my book. There wasn't much filler, the pacing was solid, and it felt like everyone had something to look forward to. Mario Kart was the standout for me, too. Even if the courses aren't gonna have the same amount of polish as vanilla 8 did, just the fact that the game is essentially doubling its content is insane enough for me to wanna put down the money. I'm going into Mario Strikers super cautious since Tennis and Golf really stung. Granted, this game is NOT being developed by Camelot thankfully, but the whole incomplete free update thing is how I'm conditioned to look at Nintendo's multiplayer games now. They basically confirmed that Nintendo Switch Sports would be unfinished at launch, too, which further proves my point. Plus, 3 of the 6 games that'll be there at launch are just ball rally games, nothing that really stands out. And Splatoon 3 continues to not justify its existence which is lovely. Otherwise, Advance Wars looks surprisingly great, Xenoblade 3 is pretty cool, No Man's Sky and Portal ports were pleasant announcements, Live A Live looks like it could be interesting, and I'm sure Kirby looks great, but I refuse to watch any trailers because of spoilers, so I'll take your word for it. So it definitely wasn't a Direct that set the world on fire, but it was still one I could walk out of in a decent mood.
That fact that their adding more tracks in mario kart 8 make me feel like Nintendo is doing everything in their power to not make mario kart 9 is just hilarious. That new mario strikers game is great I have a soft spot for the wii game so I'm definitely getting it. Also glad they finally add earthbound to NSO I honestly thought we would never get it, so that neat. Kirby is definitely fun I love 3D open world games so Nintendo Direct is really good in my book
While I am hyped to get a new Strikers game I have this sense of "how much are they going to detract from Strikers Charged?". I can already tell that they won't let their characters be as expressive as they were before since if Super Rush taught us anything Nintendo's new mantra is "Fun for All Ages = Flat, Bland, and Safe" but I've also noticed that there seems to only be one field with each half getting reskinned for each team, which for the competitive focus I think they're going for is fine but what does that mean for other fields.

Tbh my issue with the mario kart dlc is that the graphics are pretty underwhelming. Doesn't look as modern as other retro tracks. Seems like they just ripped tracks from the mobile game. Good deal still, but just wish it was prettier.

I think Nintendo has ran out of gimmicks they can feasably make for a mario kart, so they are saving Nintendo Kart for Switch 2. They saw the demand and decided to make Mario Kart 8 the equivalent of Smash Ultimate, but didn't want to put much effort in. At this point I hope they add Tour characters like Birdo, Kamek, Diddy, Funky, and if they ever add him, E Gadd to round out the roster.

Everytime I watch someone react or stream a Nintendo Direct, at least once I hear "I'm happy for _ fans, but I'm not gonna check it out" and I'm not sure how to describe how it makes me feel.

I feel like they'll have single player story mode which you can get coins to buy the gear as well as winning online matches you get rewarded coins at least that's what I think
The coin count in mario strikers doesn’t have a little plus sign next to it to let you buy more coins, which does lower the chance somewhat of microtransactions being in Mario strikers since Nintendo usually have that little prompt next to the currency count to entice you to buy more of it
Out of the 50 comments here, the 3 things you should take away from the new mario strikers is
1. I feel like if there were gonna be micro transactions, Nintendo would’ve mentioned the fact it would be f2p or try to hype up that “there’s now awesome new mushroom crystals” to enhance your character with real life money or something along those lines
2. When the game is released, veterans with the series will be disappointed, and newcomers will be impressed. They removed the sidekicks added in the wii version and no new characters were shown, so presumably they’ve decided to replace the bigger roster with unique movesets and more diversity with ugly cosmetics that probably require grinding games as an excuse to fill out the lack of content I’m 99% sure there isn’t. no new items were shown, no new modes were shown, (even mario golf had speed golf), no different stadiums with different gimmicks were shown. And it’s a mario sports game on switch. Tennis aces and rushed golf both followed that formula. However. I think they’re trying to improve upon the basic formula of both games, and that formula was really really incredible, I expect this game to be a great tech demo for the next mario strikers game or to become great after months of updates when nobody cares about it anymore.
3. PLAY MARIO STRIKERS CHARGED THAT GAME IS SO SO GOOOOOOOOOD get it on dolphin grab your wii mote and nunchuck, do the tutorial and enjoy the most polished serious charming Nintendo spin off the world has ever seen

Sorry for the incoming wall of text; but I feel like I should try to at least 'defend' Mario Strikes. I am completely certain that the game will have no microtransactions for one reason: history. Nintendo's pretty damn stuck in their ways, and for as much bad as it's been, there's some definite good in there. Nintendo (to my knowledge, please let me know otherwise) has never put in microtransactions for a paid game on console. Every time Nintendo has put in microtransactions for a game, its been free-to-play. Pokemon Rumble World, Pokemon Picross, Pokemon Shuffle, Kirby Clash Deluxe, Kirby Super Clash Deluxe, Pokemon Unite, etc.. If you ask me, one of the better things Nintendo has done has been their approaches to DLC. The Smash Fighter Passes, BoTW DLC, hell as much as I hate SwSh, I'll admit the DLC for those games were fair. And now, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Racer Pass is a pretty damn good deal. $25 for 48 tracks? That's damn near 2 tracks for 1 dollar. I don't care if they are lifted directly from tour, that's a pretty damn good deal. I don't think there'll be any sort of microtransactions for this game. And my final argument for said stance: think about it. If Nintendo WERE to start putting microtransactions for their paid console releases, then why the hell would they start with Mario Strikers? Why not another, more popular game like; I don't know, Mario Kart? I truly do love this company, and that's why I criticize it to no end. I want to see it rise above their shitty corporate decisions. Despite that, I will defend this company's actions on DLC until they start shitting the bed, and I don't think we need to worry about this microtransaction deal with Strikers.

I have to say, this direct was actually interesting, and it's been a long time since I've had interest in it, or actually watched it. You got me into watching you stream the direct! The Mario Kart is certainly really interesting to see, the kirby... cursed, but a new idea, Mario strikers, an amazing game brought back to life, but feels... lacking? It's brighter palette, lack of kremlings, and in game currency is a turn off, but I'll see if it's worth it when it comes out. Switch sports... killing miis off destroyed what defined the games, but the environments are really pretty. A bunch of other things added like free metroid updates and Kolona are also looking really nice! So yea, this certainly was better than the previous ones, besides the lack of donkey kong,,, still, a pleasure to watch it with you!
Mario Strikers UI reeks of Pokemon Unite and I cant get out of the feeling they would add microtransactions.
Strikers was the Highlight for me. I played the Gamecume one slot with my friends to the point they hate playing me at it. I'm a little worried about how it will play that I'm hoping it's still as crunchy and strategic as the OG one but here's hoping.
Mario Kart was a huge surprise since this Deluxe didn't feel like it really added anything completely new but I'm down for it.
Wii Sports was fine. I'm honestly just their for Bowling and maybe Tennis
I honestly thought Nintendo was going to pull a full Gamer move and say along with Earthbound Beginnings they would also release Mother 3 but maybe if the amount of people that play Earthbound today really go all in on it, maybe by the Summer they'll release it.

Ideas for strikers 3
Trophies and cup battles: vast and lovely like in the 1st game. The Cup Battles should have normal and super cup battles like in the first game. And the trophies should get bigger shinier and with lovelier detail in the higher difficulties.
Captains: Have them be better than all the sidekicks and have their own special abilities super strike and mega strike.
Like maybe the super strike of a captain be like a fully charged shot of a sidekick.
Examples like Mario's being a fireball that burns and stuns the goalie leaving an opening for a goal for Mario or a teammate. And for Luigi maybe the same but with green fire. They could do like a 2 or 3 point score like in the first game. Keeping the megastrikes the same though. But with different ways to block em that arent motion controlled
Sidekicks: vast and customizeable like Charged but none being OP. As well as adding in more sidekicks like Magikoopas Chargin chucks and bloopers
items: Same as in the 1st game.
Courses: More like the 1st game's courses with limited hazards
Losing animations: Some captains having animayions where they attack enemy players like Bowser grabbing an enemy player and breathing fire at their face and Wario sitting on an opponent and farting on them. Inspired by Petey eating an opponent in Charged.
Other customizations: outfit colors and details. Also keep the charged armor and ball
Most of all, make it balanced and fair and depending on player skill.
Another thing. Use more of that cool sketchy art style from the gamecube game's cover art.

4:30 fair point, counter point, what if this is like how it is in Smash Bros you know how at the end of each game you get a few coins you can buy stuff in the shop like how it is with the gear. It could be possible that new gear down the line might have micro transactions like with Mii outfits but I don't think it would be that the coins can be bought with real money though I could be wrong but just saying.

honestly I never had an issue with it if the game is fun then I pay and see if it's worth it, Mario Kart DLC is my top priority, finally a reason to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe again.

Honestly the thing that concerns me about strikers is just that looks very corporate and clean in terms of presentation compared to how raw Charged was. Like the cinematics feel slow and weak and without that oomph that charged had. Also they clearly toned down on the violence which is what Super Charged was kinda known and loved for. Well maybe thats just me looking too much into things. The gameplay looks at ok least. It does look slower and im not sure about the whole orb thing.

Im not concerned about the gear unlocks in strikers. Both previous mario sports games had a similar system. Tennis had purchasable rackets that didnt have microtransactions and golf had the club set upgrades that also didnt use microtransactions. Nintendo hasnt really pushed microtransactions much if at all in there mainline console games, outside of expansions for games which im totally ok with

The thing about the gear in Strikers is that they all seem to be very balanced. For whatever they add to one stat, they remove from a different stat. Because of that, I heavily doubt that microtransactions will be in the game. There would be no real statistical benefit in buying currency for gear that isn't a net positive benefit. I could be wrong, but I'm like 76% sure that I'm right. Call it a hunch
I'm thrilled with what's been shown with Mario Strikers: Battle League. I trust Next Level Games, they're keeping the style and hyper aggressive gameplay intact. Microtransactions are a stretch, as disgusting as stuff like Mario Kart Tour and Pokémon Unite are with monetization, Nintendo hasn't fallen that far into the darkness yet with putting disgusting monetization in their console games. Next Level Games, considering their track record, I think Battle League will be fine. But about the same as you, this, Kirby, and 8's DLC were the highlights of the Direct.
I don't see this as a problem for Mario Strikers. Splatoon does has in game currency to upgrade gears and weapons as well without microstransaction. Guess we'll have to see ^^
On the Mario Strikers thing, you don't need to worry. The only games Nintendo implemented micro transactions into were their mobile games, none of their console games have micro transactions so you don't need to worry. Pretty sure the in game currency will be earned in game

I don’t understand why wii sports needs free updates. It’s wii sports it’s a tech demo game, and on top of that a party game. Mario Kart 8 dlc kind of has me conflicted. I’m not upset, new tracks is cool but yeah dlc for a 5 year old port of a 9 year old game is kind of bizarre. I know that strikers won’t be as “in your face” as before. No way Nintendo will allow Waluigi to crotch chop, and I really really hope that Mario strikers doesn’t go down the route of what Mario golf did with their win and lose animations. Those genuinely gave the original two strikers a bonus of 80 points. As for micro transactions, I genuinely hope not but given recent history it’s probably likely. The cosmetic system by itself is something I welcome. Customization is cool for a game like this, but the stats thing is a bit of an interesting choice to go. I don’t care about fire emblem, people who like fire emblem only pretend to like it so they don’t feel upset when a fire emblo gets in smash. And big chungus in splatoon
