I used to knit with pencils and string whenever my family was at our mountain cabin back in the 60s. I never finished anything. I just liked the experience...

So I can't take my knitting needles into the courtroom but I can take pencils in with yarn, tape ( to make circular needle) Double duty activity with the colored pencils, coloring and knitting while I wait for the particular case to be up. I wonder if mechanical pencils will work better?
I didn't even think about using tape to make circulars! Brilliant! I have used mechanical pencils before and they don't catch the yarn nearly as much, especially once the clip is removed.
Dip the pencil in nail polish to avoid wood catching the yarn and color transfer from the tip. Maybe wind tape on the end to act as a stopper?
My mom interest me in knitting, tho I wasn't that interested until now, I have this big yarn my mom got for me that I haven't use and I just thought of trying to knit and so far I understand the first part but the second was hard since I had big string, Tysm for this tutorial I might try it in class someday if I had small string -w-
There’s this problem where after I tie the slip knot, there’s always one side that’s shorter than the other and when I try to grab it and make a chain it keeps slipping off my fingers and it’s very annoying

I am just strugling becouse i don't have any kniting tools

This is how it went for me:
Takes 8 minutes trying to learn how to make a slick knot
tangles up the string while making the first cast on
Finally makes one cast on
somehow undo's the first cast on while trying to make the second one
tangles up the string again
cries for 20 mins
has a mental breakdown
ends up wasting two feet of string that could actually be used by people who are good at crochet or knitting
screams inside of pillow for 5 minutes
cries again
tries again the next day
then the cycle repeats.
I know people are trying to make knitting VERY easy but stupid me still doesnt understand it
Oh no! I'm so sorry. We've all been there before 😅. Not "stupid me" haha it's a learning curve. Also, it's harder learning alone at home. I'm proud of you for giving it another shot!

I never understood all the comments on videos like this about it being stressful, I learned how to knit and crochet in 2 days with no problem, then I tried to tech my boyfriend and I completely get it now😂

Turn your work and do the same thing again: get the loops on the other pencil

😂 but now you know how to make a spider! Make sure to keep the tail end of the yarn towards your body and the yarn connected to the ball away from your body ❤️

Guys, my brain finally figured it out!🎉 this is so stressful 😂
The pain knowing that I did this before I got actual knitting sticks, I ended up with a hand full of splinters
how many foot did you do at the stsrt
At the very beginning, I pulled about 4 feet of yarn from the ball before making a slip knot. This length will vary based on the project. If you want to make a dishcloth, casting on 28 stitches is a good amount to start with.
I think I’m going to use a crochet hook more now pencils and whatever you were trying to explain to me wasn’t really working

How did I get a heart within 15 hours-
I'm actually stuck how to I keep repeating the process after all the yarn is off the other pencil?
Turn the pencil that now has the yarn on it so that the string connected to the ball is on the right end and repeat how you worked the first row :)
