It would have been even greater had you left out the "but"..

It is quite difficult to sing French pieces without nasality; it is the nature of the language. If one listens to the French singing their own music it is quite apparent. I never had an issue with nasality until I sang this song; I was just listening to an old tape and thought 'my gawd! where did that come from?' That being said, this is a beautiful rendition and pronunciation does not affect the gorgeous sounds issuing from her mouth.
