As a beliver and provider in the mental health field, this is further showing the parallel of scripture and psychotherapy. This confirmation has drawn me to study and support biblically within the church. I was struggling to separate the clinical aspects. Truly grateful, continue to let the Most High God use you.

Came here because the last few hours I have been ruminating and re-acting my last steps to try and remember for sure on something.
I am staying in a homeless hostel and had to have a room inspection by staff. I have social anxiety and insecurity right now. I still rely on wearing a face mask due to this and wearing a bandana and a comfort scarf round my neck.
Due to previous staff bullying me at this hostel I tend to record my interactions with staff on my iPhone so I did this before they I let them in my room. I also opened my room window and curtain before letting them in
Long story short AFTER they came and left J started worrying if my mask was on when they were in my room and then if my bandana and comfort scarf was on when they were in my room
The thought only happened after they left
I kept checking and re-listening to the recording on my iPhone to keep trying to check and even re-enacting it all over again to get myself to stop
Last time this happened my thoughts were not true because I had visual proof and someone told me it was not true
    I want to cry

Im a christian and I have ocd, I just want to mention something that i dont see mentioned anywhere and i feel like im alone with this. Findig someone who is christian teaching about ocd helped me so much and i learned much more than any other things(spirituality, therapy) but i feel stucked cause whenever they mention satan giving us the thoughts, i just start to obsess more. I had obsessions about having schizophrenia, then that turned into being afraid that demons are talking to me,cause my ocd got so bad that the thoughts got loud and it was im hearing demons talking to me and i was so scared that im going crazy. Viewing this as ocd and overriaction to my thoughts which made them louder just gives me peace cause i know it was just a bad reaction, but because i try to recover in a biblical way, i hear everybody talking about "negative thoughts is satan" its just streghtens my fear and obsession gets back that the devil wants me to like him and not God, and i start to feel like im really liking bad things and its scary... If i just view this in a "wordly" way that its just overreaction it helps me get through it but the christian way makes me obsess more...Im not sure whats the problem, i tried to not be afraid of the devil but that itself became an obsession. So the worldly view helps me but the christian view scares me more and i would like to ask if someone can help me in this, what can i do differrent or what do i do wrong?

@olaszarnold6499 I have had OCD all my life since childhood and I can relate with you. Are you seeing a therapist and are you on meds for your OCD? I know meds don't work for everyone as everyone is different and built a little differently even though we are all human. OCD runs in my family where my mother had it and my son has it, but he responds very well to Prozac which was prescribed for his OCD. However, when I took Prozac, I had a very adverse side effect from it, so I couldn't take it. Other meds never really worked for me either. OCD is a very negative energy which drives a person's mind to go around in circles. My OCD has no cure and will be with me for the rest of my life where it comes and goes sporadically. I could be free from it for months, but suddenly it will come back without warning.
There is a book that was a real opener for me which is entitled, "Getting Control - Overcoming Your Obsessions and Compulsions" by Dr. Lee Baer, Ph.D (Dr. Baer is a renowned authority in the treatment of OCD) In his book there is a section that gives an exhaustive and comprehensive list of all types of intrusive thoughts that are very common in patients, whether they are Christian or non Christian, including religious OCD thoughts that are intrusive, etc. OCD afflicts people from ALL walks of life. I can't post the link to the book as it will get removed by YT as part of their censoring protocol.
OCD is a mental handicap due to a chemical imbalance in the brain where Satanic entities can capitalize on that and use it to torment us by adding to it in the form of all kinds of intrusive thoughts. Christians with OCD are easy prey for the false doctrines of Calvinism and Arminianism which are both very notorious in taking Scriptural passages out of context where they will be misapplied causing much fear, anxiety, confusion, and no assurance of salvation.
Trying to deal with OCD using the Bible does not work. I can attest to this as I tried many times in the past. It simply just does not work. It depends on what type of OCD you have. I have communicated with many Christians who obsess about their salvation over and over again with intrusive thoughts and questions that come in the form of thoughts like "I think I lost my salvation", "I must not be saved to begin with", or "Can I lose my salvation?", etc, etc.
If this is the type of OCD that you have, then dealing with it Biblically might help as a person needs to be able to tell the difference between true biblical doctrine versus false doctrine, both of which use Bible passages. A true biblical understanding where a person gets the true interpretation/understanding of the many difficult passages in the Bible comes from reading the Bible in the right context using exegesis, by reading it in light of clear Scriptural passages, whereas all people who are entrenched in false doctrine will read the Bible out of context and take passages in isolation using EISEGESIS, where they will impose their own philosophical presuppositions into the Bible thus perverting it and coming to the wrong conclusion. It is because of the way certain bible passages are written that confusion arises in many Christian's minds. This is especially true of the book of 1st John and other books in the Bible including James 2. The Bible is the most easily perverted book in existence. There are currently 19 false denominations within mainstream Christianity perverting and twisting the Bible and perverting the gospel.
Many intrusive thoughts are further aggravated by the 2 false doctrines of Calvinism and Arminianism which are like 2 cancers that have permeated all of mainstream Christianity today perverting the Bible and the Gospel. For many Christians who have OCD, it is best to deal with it in a cognitive way by seeking professional help and taking meds, but again, every Christian with OCD is different.
Sometimes the intrusive thoughts are our own, but sometimes new intrusive thoughts can come from Satanic entities to aggravate our own existing thoughts by whispering new thoughts into our minds making us think that they are our own thoughts. It can be very tricky sometimes. I know it is for me.
      Hope this helps, God bless!

      @olaszarnold6499 Před 8 měsíci

@@wtom04 well i have to work on this, cause its logical that everything that is bad and dark, it comes from evil, but everytime you have a negative thought and you say "its the devil" or "demons are attacking me" you just put yourself into more trouble... I know God said that we will have suffering here but that doest mean that you have to put all your focus to the spiritual war with demons and satan... that will make you go crazy. For me it helps to say well maybe it is from evil but im just dealing with thoughts... simple and you can just move on.
Second part, I have alot of problems with what you mentioned that there are many false doctrines that christians believe and if i dont believe in them or dont follow it i start to be afraid that im following my own understanding, i live for the world not for God... There are so much laws that christians want to live by but you cant live like that. It just made me get angry about everything and i was afraid that i start to lose my faith cause it was overwhelming... i blamed myself cause i thought the reason i feel angry is because i cant let go these worldly things and i rather live for the world than God... so it was very tiring... until something really helped, i just took a step back, realized who is God and everything was clear... If i make up a false God in my mind then it is what it is, im tired of all the law based faith... I believe sin is a sin cause it makes us a bad person and it ruins our lifes, not because God told us its a sin and if you do them you dont go to heaven... sometimes im tired of christians and i decided that i need to get off some christian videos or writings...just makes me angry and tired and feel like im a bad person and i live for my desires not God's.
And about medicine, i had meds that gave me really bad side effects, im currently on meds but i just take them cause i started it and i dont want to stop just stop it, but im planning. With meds you have to take that mindset that thats not what will make you recover, it will help, but you do the 80% of the job... for me it just helped when i was depressed cause of ocd and gave me energy to go to work, but didnt make the thoughts go away or heal me or make me happier, and thats okay cause either way i wouldnt take a pill that makes me change, thats dangerous. Meds are just helping tools but you do the work. Mark Dejesus helped me alot, he does christian themed videos about ocd, go check him out, the other person who helps me alot is Ali Greymond, she is very helpful. I wish you recovery, i believe we can recover, do what you need to do and God bless you! :)

I went through that when my anxiety what at its worse. What helped me was to know that it’s just anxiety. It’s not like it’s possession. Also with schizophrenia, if you’re scared it’s that then it’s most likely not that. People with schizophrenia don’t tend to experience anxiety about it and don’t even see it coming. They actually think they’re normal for the most part. It’s the anxiety talking. I would hear things when I’d fall asleep and I was scared it was that but as soon as my anxiety went down I no longer hear anything.
I would recommend shaan on CZcams for anxiety. He does it in a “worldy” way. Once you understand how anxiety works then come back to this video. Because that’s what happened to me. The Christianity world view was only freaking me out more because i would obsess that I was possessed or something.

    • @bex308

A lot of people who don't keep the Sabbath use the scripture about not letting anyone judge you about the sabbath festivals... the Sabbath is part of the actual 10 commandments. We wouldn't take any other commandment and say we don't have to keep it. ❤ I believe it should be kept as He commands. ❤

    • @piercereed8426
      @piercereed8426 Před 6 měsíci

Hey are you still struggling with this? Jesus does not command us to now keep the sabbath for salvation. I too wrestled with this for nearly a year and suffered severe anxiety from it thinking I had to keep the sabbath to be saved. Nope!! Jesus only asks us to believe in His cross for salvation. By Grace through Faith (Ephesians 2:8-9) and this scripture also says it is nothing of ourselves. We are free from the law and cannot be justified by the law in Gods sight (Romans 7 and much other scripture from Roman’s talks about this). Rather we are only righteous because of faith in Christ. Also, Colossians 2:16 claims let no man judge you in regard to a sabbath day. And also, in Roman’s it says one man esteem’s one day holy, another esteem’s all days the same. It follows up with let each man be fully convinced in his mind! So God no longer required sabbath keeping of His children. That was mosaic law and the old covenant. Jesus Christ fulfilled the law for us therefore we no longer strive to keep it, faith in Jesus alone is the only requirement. Hope this helps, God Bless You. Praying for you also!

Repent definition: When you come to the New Testament, you need to know the Greek word metanoia, which literally means “to change the mind.” Repentance fundamentally means to change your mind about something. It has to do with the way you think about something. You’ve been thinking one way, but now you think the opposite way. That’s repentance - the changing of the mind. 🙏🏼

Meaning they're following their thoughts and not God's will and what if they're going to die will they enter the kingdom of God? Because if you read the Word of God in Revelation 2 - 3 Jesus says Repent

@Dub_97 I understand and know what you are going through. I have had OCD all my life since childhood. No amount of therapy or meds have helped. I had the exact same disorder that you now have when I was 20. It devastated me bad. What helped me was not therapists or meds, but what helped me was going to a medical library where I looked up every paper that I possibly could find on the subject. This disorder is called the "pseudohomosexual anxiety" which is a type of OCD which is very common among many heterosexual men and women when they experience a masculine or feminine failure that is a major blow to their pride and identity as a young man or woman. However, having this anxiety/fear does NOT mean you are "gay", or that you are a "latent homosexual"/"unconscious homosexual" if that's what you're thinking, but that you are having some internal issue/issues with failure, dependency and power.
Satanic entities know us inside out and can capitalize on the fact that we have OCD and then use this disorder to afflict and torment us mentally.
There is a very well known psychiatrist named Sherwyn M. Woods, MD (from UCLA - now deceased) who wrote an excellent article that really helped me. It was this article that helped open my eyes where a great weight was lifted off of me. I had experienced a major masculine failure when I was turned down and rejected by 3 girls whom I wanted to date which was a major factor in triggering off this OCD anxiety in me.
Anyway, the article is entitled, "Anxiety in Men About Homosexuality" by Dr. Sherwyn M. Woods, MD, Ph.D, Chapter 20, pages 283 - 291. This article can be found in the book entitled, "Sexual Problems in Medical Practice", published by The American Medical Association, 1984. You can do an online search to find this book or you can go to your local public library to do an interlibrary loan through their database where they can track it down.
There is also another book that was a real opener for me which is entitled, "Getting Control - Overcoming Your Obsessions and Compulsions" by Dr. Lee Baer, Ph.D (Dr. Baer is a renowned doctor in the treatment of OCD) In his book there is a section that gives an exhaustive and comprehensive list of the types of intrusive thoughts that are very common in patients, whether they are Christian or non Christian.
OCD afflicts people from ALL walks of life.
      Hope this helps, God bless!

@@Dub_97 I hope you feel better, brother. OCD is a real bitch to deal with and is a real negative energy that drives a person to go in circles. I have had OCD all my life, but I feel God has called me to help others who suffer from OCD because I am so familiar with it and am slowly learning to focus this negative energy in helping others. God bless!

There comes a point when you start to wonder if God is actually Satan and is Satan actually God? Just put 2 and 2 together....

I am a therapist with ocd. There is no cure just control and possibilities of going into remission and then even having a trigger again later in life, I know as Ive gone in and out of phases withh my ocd. Ive had it since I was 4 yo due to the trauma I endured as a little child (sexual and physical abuse as well as domestic violence) and no satan doesnt cause your brain structure to be "broken"... Trauma does... Genetics also plays a role. This can be very triggering to people who suffer with religious ocd in the type pure o category... Please be mindful.

I'm just sharing what helped me overcome my OCD. I was told the exact same thing you just mentioned, no cure for it, high percentage of remission, and only maintenance mode. But I've been free from it ever since. I also know many people who learned to deny/forsake the intrusive thoughts and were also freed 100%. I have no intention of triggering anyone. My intention is to shed light from a spiritual perspective that they didn't teach me while in therapy. If you're a therapist, you should be at least open to hearing it out. As stated, the realization that there are evil thoughts that aren't from me allowed me to combat the voices/thoughts as enemies. This allowed me to stop following or even acknowledging it. This gave me strength to live a normal life and never turn back. There are cases of OCD without trauma and you know this as well. Please be mindful as well.

I took the term "Satan" to mean "physical manifestation of our inner shadow"
To me, it's a non-medical perspective to experience ones suffering.
Ocd is a b-word no matter how you frame it. I'm so sorry for your trauma.. no 4yo/kid should go through what you did 😥

You mention you’re a therapist. So then in school, getting licensed and doing continuing education you have learned about the fact that clients come from different backgrounds and have different spiritual or religious values that are incredibly important to them. No licensed therapist worth their salt would come onto a clearly spiritual CZcams channel to make statements like you just did and think you’re doing something valuable. It might be good to talk through your bias with supervision or take ongoing education about spiritual models of treatment that many clients use and find helpful in their lives. It’s not your job to tell people they’re ‘wrong’ like this. Self-reflection, and addressing bias is key for any therapist, respectfully - maybe it’s time for you to check yours.
