camera work was excellent it really felt just like gta's 3rd person camera
Arpit Johari Sweet, glad you liked it!
@@CorridorCrew can you make a studio tour?
and they recorded each sound by hand 😲
when you know that they could have just extracted the sounds from the game...
Genius idea with the GoPro. I clicked BTS immediately because I wanted to know how you guys filmed the footage!
Same
iTiamo plays BTS is necessary in Corridor Digital films! :D
BrothersShortFilms except i wanted to see what they did in Maya and After effects, if thats what they used! :c
cornflakes23 They use After Effects and 3DS Max
+iTiamo plays Hello Kerbal! I miiiight of killed Jebidiah before...
Very impressive i was sure it was drone video!
***** same here!
Anderz :D
Tjena Anders!
Visste inte att du kolla på corridor digital 😊
***** Same. Interesting the way they did do it though
Anders? Ser du på Corridor Digital? Suprise xD!
Ok guys, lets take this in. They shot this with a $600 gopro and i don't really know how much the gimbal was, but this video is incredible and they shot it WITH A GOPRO. I was expecting all kinds of professional cranes and a couple of REDs whenever i first saw this video. Absolutely amazing guys, bravo.
Elijah Vivio Thank you
there's a lot of amazing videos filmed with go pros... it just depends on how good you are with editing the go pro footage. the gimbal is a feiyu tech G4 ($380) .
Sam and Niko what filter was on the video)
@@AliA-ex7st lol you can't just ask them to give away their secret sauce like that
I thought for sure it was filmed with a drone. That's crazy inventive and impressive. Great work guys.
SlayedByBlade Me too! I was like "Easy. Drone Shot" Then they came out with a less technological yet more efficent solution. Amazing
SlayedByBlade Something that made me hesitate it was a drone shot was when they recorded at "Vespucci Beach", which was a really crowed area so I thought, "How the hell no one kept staring at the camera like if it was an alien?"
Matman Blog I didnt think it was a drone, because of the special filming, but i did thought "how the hell do they do that without a drone" :P
Advanced selfie-stick was the answer.
Thomas Andersen simply amazing!
same.
2:17. Excellent jump. It's a shame it didn't make its way into the final video!
WALTERRIFIC the jump is in the final video
samandniko I guess it is. It just isn't as obvious or funny when it's not done randomly while walking.
The
The
Was any post stabilization added? Or was the footage just that naturally smooth?
I really want to make films and this is inspiring.
i saw your dad tlks to michael vid
This is so cool. I really like BTS videos, especially for your GTA video, it's really interesting to know how it was made. Keep up the good work.
KnightsGambit Thanks a bunch!
Sam and Niko how do you guys make that , character change effect like gta 5
dude in 50-10 years GAMES are gonna look just like that! damn
game looks better
Its true, some games look better than real life
God,lifes graphics suck!
Awesome film-making! This is my favorite video you guys have done since Mini-Boss!
5 Dice Productions Thanks!
@4:02 selling money for drugs ? what ?
I didn't notice that until I saw this comment. LOL. Sorry for replying 3 years late. I was just in the toilet.
Erhan Burger LOL
Buying drugs 😂
@@tappineapple3381 you mean money lol
MY MIND IS BLOWN!!!! Super production value, super post-production!!! Wow!
i was thinking it was drone footage, thanks for sharing. this was awesome :-)
The acting is also spot-on! All those little movements, the way he walks, rides a bicycle... good job! But the Porsche would definitely not have been in such a good condition after arriving to the destination, it would usually be missing the mirrors and maybe the front bumper. Or you would arrive with another car altogether :D
Dude, that was amazing. It just goes to show that sometimes, the best solution to a problem is just a big stick.
LOL the criminal is a lawyer - Oh my bad, sorry lawyers ARE criminals...
GTA look like a Playstation 1 game after that video
I'm impressed your story's are still so good after so many years.
Great job Sam and Niko and all the other crew
GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!!! All video i was thinking dang they are getting good with that drone. Never would have guessed it was all boom work.
Very awesome video for such little equipment. Very cool, guys, hats off to ya!
MrSlowestD16 thanks!
What about the VFX? I LIVE FOR THE VFX!
Freepdied they actually ran over those people and brought bundles of money from in the game to real life
that's why @ 3:38 he's all so: "umm?! :l"
TehObLiVioUs LMFAO
VFX is for nerds, no one cares about VFX people
so awesome im expecting more from you guys hopefully all your next projects can meet my expectations like this.
Wow! Crazy rig... Never would have thought to come up with something this awesome! Great video & BTS!!!
I had no idea that Los Santos was a real place! o.O
What? I'm not american....
Sam Master (can't tell if you're srs btw) Rockstar bases some locations off of real places in California. c:
TheFancyJoker RBLX
yeah I was serious :P
thanks for the info btw
Sam Master Np ^_^
You need a much better education. No one deserve to be so stupid.
Sam Master Los Santos, San Andreas is based off of Los Angeles, Califorina
I want to know more about the "Random Crazy Guy."
Loving all of your videos! great job guys!
Wow! I was AMAZED how smoothly your DRONE was shooting!)
I didn't know what to make of it: either it's a robust drone with hell lots of gyro-compensating stuff and huge control over DSLR-lens or it is a lot of stabilisation done in post + some crazy lens-correction to imitate it.
That was "way simplier" and at the same time more complex and efficient! Bravo!
Ingenious! I could've sworn it was shot with a drone...do you think a similar setup could work using the Nebula 4000 with an A7s ow GH4 for better quality?
JohnFelipo possible
samandniko Random question, but what kind of sunglasses are you guys wearing?
"The footage almost looked like drone footage"
When I watched the original footage, that's what I thought it WAS. O.O
This is my favorite Corridor short. Amazing work! 👍👍👍👍👍
This was awesome. wish it was longer. You guys should definitely do more like this!
This was god damned genius.
Wow, I thought you DID use a drone!! This is impressive.
Your video is awesome creative work. I first really believed the background location was some actual footage from the game, spiced up with effects and shaders. Incredible how you managed by camera perspective, movement and the right location to keep the GTA feeling almost 1:1. Sound, FX and good editing did the rest. Great!
You guys are GENIUS! NICE! I liked it! no words to say how awesome that turned out
wait, wait, wait, So are you telling me locations in the game exist in real life?
D.C. Stranded yup!
samandniko
wow dude, I had no idea.
D.C. Stranded i visited LA some months ago and when i was there i was like "this place looks familiar....." for example in the beginning they are at venice beach, then a cousin told me the game is based on LA, its really accurate, at least the places i went
It's all on WikiPedia... San Andreas (Los Angeles) Liberty City (New York City) Vice City (Miami-Dade)
@@DomoniqueMusiclover san andreas is more like california los santos is los angeles
What are those things called that move around standing up in two legs? 3:31 Because sure I need one of those!!!
Mirosuke Egarraided iohawks czcams.com/video/WvVww2BdYYA/video.html
samandniko Oh my, they're expensive... but I need one of those...
Mirosuke Egarraided Hovertrax
Mirosuke Egarraided Humans?
***** I really hope that is a joke...
awesome vid! can't wait to see some more D&D, you guys are the best!
great work , loved it , one of the best clips I have seen
What?
The whole video I was like ''This must've been hard to shoot with a drone''! Oo
OMG! Wren is getting a paunch!!! Wren!! That skinny guy.. holy!! 4:02
This was almost like watching gameplay!! One of the best vids I've seen!
I _love_ seeing behind the scenes footage of any film I see. This was _dope_!
Carpenter brut is also one of my fav electronic artists, anyone share a passion for Le perv? (Another one of his songs)
did you have to get permission to drive in the storm drains?
The Dude theyve shot in it before so probably
The Dude Nope. But we were in & and pretty fast :D
CorridorDigital much rule breaking very law wow
The Dude not like california needs storm drains anyways now if you'll scuse me i need to go water my forest wash my car and maybe head on over to the columbia river for some nice boating before my hour long shower
nemesisnick66 You tease us with your precious water.
I think it's absolutely awesome on how you guy's made this video. So a big thumbs up from me guys.
I love this and I really want to do something like this . Subscribed both channels and looking forward to watching more .
damn i thought the io hawk was an april fools video, but you guys use it every day! SRSLY!?
sotty115 It seems fun to use.
sotty115 If you looked closely io hawk's video was up the day *before* April Fool's plus you could research it on google to find it was actually a legit product. People assuming...
4:02 Didn't realize you sold money to get drugs...I always thought it was the other way around.
You guys are amazing. I found you through Node. Great Video! I hope you can make more!
This is absolutely mind-blowing, you caught such minute detail wow!
What video editing software did you use?
What kind of filters did you put on the footage to get it to look so similar to the game? Or did you just manually tweak the brightness and contrast and stuff?
Evanz111 I wouldn't know, obviously, but that's the way to do it when you're trying to mimic a certain look. There's not going to be a filter for "2014 video game", so manual brightness, contrast and color correction is the way to go.
Evanz111 No pre-made filters. Spent a day using a program called DaVinci Resolve to get that look with the colors. Basically a lot of curves and color tint adjustments.
Shared this with my gta v crew, and they absolutely loved it! Great job guys!
awesome video...salute to all those who worked...awesome work with 100% perfections
What were the 2 wheeled things you were riding around on, they looked like segways but smaller and less mid life crisis
Mike James IO Hawk czcams.com/video/WvVww2BdYYA/video.html
But how did you guys do the ragdoll thing at the end of the original video. Y'know, where the character gets driven over.
They might have drove into him slowly then when editing sped it up
They simulated it in 3DS Max most likely and created a CG version of the MC and threw it in their video.
MotionlessParadox Ah I see
you guys did a great job i really loved the video you guys made
just loved it
you guys are geniuses, i mean i had a lot of fun watching your video just as much as you had making it and it's awesome ! We need more ! ^_^
one sentence to conclude the whole BTS : All hail GoPro
No, all hail gimbal
That mega64 shirt tho. Internet soldierz where you at?
opoof #dadrippedapart
your profile pic is godly
This is cool guys!!! Behinde the scenes!! Thanks!!!
Guys, excellent to see other people using such simple tools as skateboards to get fantastic shots. Kudos.
I see that mega 64 shirt (;
2:30 what happened to the graphics?
Elites Engineering When we recorded the in game stuff for the audio, to keep the file size smaller, we recorded a lower resolution video while keeping the quality up on the audio.
samandniko Dude i love your videos!
samandniko oh that makes sense :p thanks for the fast reply!
Passing of the cameras from man to car is so smooth I can't believe it's so low tech in background.
This is blowing my mind. I was so sure you used a drone but you didn't!! Such a clever use of technology, never thought about using that mini segway in filmmaking. Genius.
Would it be possible to shoot this with a drone? If yes, would it be more difficult?
***** I suppose a lot more difficult, especially in areas where a lot of people are. Drones are loud and not easy to maneuver in crowded places. Also legal issues.
You are limited on battery power and when you are filming a car you might get into trouble because you are "endangering other drivers" although it's more likely that your drone falls down and someone drives over it. Which is a problem in and of itself.
***** Well... It's possible but you can't legally fly a drone in urban areas, but Sam & Niko are above the law :D
Yeah they could it's just that a drone looks very suspisus in public places
whitepaws60 besides that i doubt that cheap drones are able to fly in a speed a car does in town
whitepaws60 some guys with GoPro camera on a stick with guns don't look suspicious.
Dat mega64 shirt
Congrats on your video. Your "Vespucci Beach" section really blew me away.
You guys are brilliant! Keep it up!!
Ummm what shirt is Sam wearing when interviewing...
Zaim Azhar Looks like a Mega64 shirt.

awesome video guys, you have one more subscriber! :3 everything on the video was great, the filming, the acting, the music and sounds. i was only looking for the real locations and i found you. This is more better jajaj
A stunning piece of film! You guys rock at explaining the BTS! Love your work!
Nailz92 thank you very much!
that video was EPIC, great job, loved it so much !!!
You guys really did great on the Real GTA video, I just had to check this out and see how you did it
This was beyond awesome!!! So amazing!
Thanks for the vid! I was really wondering how ya'll did the whole car chase scene 👌🏼 very crisp.
I love you guys!! You are my absolute favorite CZcamsrs! ;)
Keep being awesome and doing sweet vids :D
Oh sweet! Griffith Park Observatory is where the big action finale of The Rocketeer took place! Nice!
I totally thought this was drone footage. Thanks for the video! Great great shots.
Awesome, nicely done!
This is really cool, I also was thinking to myself it looks like drone footage but I knew it couldn't be because the camera angles were so rubber banded to the person at all times and the changing angles during turns and so forth were too smooth. The actual gta camera does look like a camera on a crane especially when you move the camera around, so the video came out extremely accurate.
I don't belive you have answered every single one, it's impossible ! But if you do read this one... you are the best guys, following you for 2 years, awesome stuff and awesome laughs always, I wish I lived in the US so I could join some of the roller coaster days.
Ok i hit that subscriber button so that i can see and learn stuff from these kinds of videos :D your works are awesome.
Awesome to watch behind the scenes.
thank you. I REALLY LOVE IT. and its so awesome that you didn't use drone at all!
Incredible. I've seen more than one of these attempts but this is the one 👌
From a filmmaker myself, this was a an incredible achievement- well done
The locations really made it for me, it was crazy how you could find so many places that looked exactly like the game!
Fantastically smooth shots.
that some rocking music! thank for the recommend guys!
Guys I can't thank you enough for making these videos! You are absolutely amazing!!! Can't wait to see more amazing content :)
P.S. you guys inspired me to make films and vfx :D
Awesome to see it was all shot using the GoPro. That gimbal is amazing!
