I mean, I did lose my voice a few times while recording my cover of Melt but that’s for three reasons:
1. I’m not a professional. I just sing for fun.
2. The song’s in Japanese and while I am learning Japanese rn, I’m not fluent so I had to rerecord over and over because I kept mispronouncing stuff.
3. THAT SONG IS HIGH AS HECK. I even lowered it and my vocal cords still hurt like a day later.
Karma’s in English which I’m assuming is Jojo’s first language, and the highest note in it isn’t that bad, just your standard pop range. What’s her excuse lol

Always make sure you're utilizing your diaphragm and abdomen when singing and not solely relying on your throat. You never want to feel tension or pain when you sing.

Apparently they needed DOZENS of recording sessions for the various sections to produce this mess of a song.
They literally had recording sessions where she would only sing the “high parts” and different ones for the “low” parts, because she couldn’t do both in one session.

Heres the info you guys need to know. A guy wrote the song and it was originally for Miley Cyrus, Miley Cyrus didint want the song so it got passed to Brit Smith. Then it got passed to Jojo because Brit never decided to officially release her music video or her version of the song. So Miley, Brit, and Jojo all didn't write the song some guy wrote it and Jojo just bought the rights and changed like only two lyrics of the song. Spread the real information!

And most of the artists never disclose the fact that they did. Jojo actually did disclose the fact that she bought karma, and she doesn’t need to mention it at every single interview. I’m not surprised that people don’t know Jojo’s podcast, I didn’t know it existed either until doing research to find proof of her claiming to have written karma. I didn’t know why people are saying that she did when I never saw that and I went looking for proof and never found it. I wish people would do an ounce of fact checking before spreading lies. No one stole from anyone, Jojo bought the rights to the song. Brit Smith recorded it before but it wasn't her song either. It's a common thing in pop music. Half the American hits in the 50s and early 60s came from the Brill Building in NYC where songwriters would write songs for others to record, and artists would buy the rights & record them. Jojo claiming she wrote the song is ridiculous, but she didn't steal from anybody if she rightfully bought it.

There are 6 other people credited on the song apart from Jojo and Columbia records. 3 of them are songwriters 3 of them producers. Her “creative process” was hiring out for actual creative people.
I'm not even a Jojo Siwa fan but to her credit, she's not claiming to have written it. She just didn't outright say "I didn't write the song" or "the song was offered to me to record". Instead it's more "I wasn't comfortable with these lyrics, so I tried some different things." I think that's more on Billboard's editor for putting "The Songwriting" as the header of that section when the songwriting process is hardly mentioned at all.
