If you play for rewards and packs, you have an addiction that you've developed. You're chasing that buzz. I play to improve my gameplay and get better results in the game. Although rewards, packs and getting a good player are desirable, it does not interest me much. I play to win and get better.

Realistically as bad as gameplay is in FIFA and FC24 (despite the fact most people complain that the gameplay doesn't benefit the true rats enough), no other football game on the market will ever compare. Also gameplay is so irrelevant now and even if it was perfect no one would care. It's why PvP type games are dying in popularity because its too repetitive and monotonous. And the main reason EA will always be superior is their daily content system and despite it's flaws, there is an abundance of content throughout the year, plus their aesthetic and design of cards, promos, and the menus themselves. The fact PES is nowhere close appearance wise is very telling. Also there will never be even close to a perfect football game. Because trying to program the functions and physic of the game into a videogame strips everything that makes football special away. Football is dynamic not only in how its played but in how its operated both managerially, financially, and through refs. Even career mode is extremely robotic and repetitive. The fact you cant set up your team tactically to hold a lead because the RNG allows opponent s to get kickoff goals and corner glitch goals as if your defense wasnt there is one of the biggest issues and disparities. Shooting and passing is an acquired skill irl, but in this game you have a power bar and a 2 dimensional view facing the pitch from the side view, and therefore the execution is purely in the developers hands. So while every football game will never completely reflect the real game, EA have the cleanest in game graphics and the smoothest animations and most tactile controls, PES feels like your players are on ice or floating, which can make the game feel far worse than delay and lag. And this is all in addition to main reason we should all play the game which is the content. FUT isnt career mode. Its a videogame. We need fun progression based content. We need a sense of achievement. Just competing and stacking up meaningless wins over and over doesnt give you the same rush. Look how quickly game like COD, Fortnite, Fall Guys, etc fall off. Its too repetitive. As football fans we're getting involved in the team, being creative, creating our favorite lineup, ranking players, discussing our favorite or most desired transfer. Its why in FIFA we love to see visual progression through upgrading our team. Its why we like to incorporate our favorite players into our teams through promo, and create personal past and present team, especially now that EVOs exist, despite their many flaws. Although the flaws of EVOs are finally proof that all the things that certain creators have been begging for for years are impossible to code and still make every player equally satisfied. So while I will call out EA on their blatantly stupid daily decisions in their content release, I do recognize the bigger picture and do no gripe about the things I know can and will never be fixed by anyone. Nothing Kurt complains about has any value as he's just salty he got banned and he probably has a contract that prevents him from endorsing another company.
