OMG Sheridan Smith is amazing singer I didn't know she has such a beautiful voice!! I remeber her in Two Pints Of Lager as a great actress but this... well very very very good!
Sheridan is such a great Elle :) *so in love* she plays a totally different Elle than LBB and that makes her unique. so stop comparing them please... I went to see her yesterday and its a really really really great musical :D hopefully the cast recording is coming out soon
Nerves aren't an excuse, but I always wonder how well they can hear themselves and the orchestra in such a situation. I can imagine she's infinately better on stage, performing in a studio always appears to have a severly negative effect.
Have you noticed that serena's cheerleader outfit is different, once the london production got going the point on the cheerleaer outfit has always pointed upwards rather than down!
In my opinion NOTHING can beat the cast that Laura Bell Bundy was apart of BUT I must say these ones are AWESOME, not a huge fan of the one who they picked to play Paulette but still they are awesome nevertheless, definitely my favorite cast after the original.

This performance was awful compared to how spectacular the cast actually are! Sheridan was slightly screechy and I didnt like how the melody was just thrown together. But live, they are AMAZING!!! The energy they have and the humour they portray is just seriously amazing! I applaud them for doing it 8 times a week!
it is not mean it is merely an observation. i am currently training to be in the west end and one of the fundamental aspects of singing is tuning. i'm not saying they are bad singers, but to promote a new west end musical on t.v. you expect a higher standard than that.

It won't be like this in the actual production, silly! This is a medley so they could try and cram in as much of the show as possible. Unfortunately, it was a bad idea. They should have stuck to one show stopper, like So Much Better, to promote the show. I still have faith in them though. I've seen Sheridan perform and she was fantastic and incredibly powerful, I believe she'll pull it off when it opens. I'll get back to you when I've seen it!

Bailey didn't get it cancelled... it was already on its way out. The reason they partnered with MTV was to try and give the musical more publicity and keep it on Broadway. Bailey was simply a marketing tool, she probably kept it open longer than it would have otherwise... But I agree, LBB is fantastic and was wonderful as Elle!

I'm just saying that they are trying to speak in American accents when their actual accent is British. Their accents aren't natural. I mean, in New York, Mary Poppins isn't as good as it was in the West End, they are British but they are using an American accent.
Elle and Warner were terrible in that performance! I'm going to see it a few days after xmas and I really hope it will not be that bad!!! The rest of them were AMAZING mind you. :)

Ehh. The Elle looks funny, Warner doesn't say "back the hell out of her way" Serena is to pale and her wig is to big. Of course all the good shows get a London release, can't it just stay in America?
I love Sheridan.. but there is just something about the way she shapes her open vowels.... it's not squeaky enough for a Malibu accent.. bring it on though.. can't wait to see this on the 5th.. x :)
