      @@louloudemondemon296 No. What EU is doing is RESPONDING to all of the bullsh*t that has been spewed at and about MLS women for the last decade on CZcams alone. Also, the lifetime, ongoing negging that is done towards attractive people is insane. It is long overdue that this obsessive behavior that UABW and UABM exhibit towards MLS people is exposed.

    • @sophiam9886
      @sophiam9886 Před 5 měsíci +14

      OMG! Sadly, this is such a common thing. I figured out years ago that I needed to hide my hair whenever applying for a job. It kind of balances out the jealousy that I knew was going to be inevitable from a woman intervieer and it tempers the lust that I knew I'd get from a m¤le interviewer. My face is still my face, so I knew that I'd be treated decently due to the "halo effect" that pretty people have on others. The trick to the halo effect is that people like to help or give things to pretty people but they don't like you to be "too pretty" and since hair is a form of beauty, I would just pull it into a low and sleek bun, and just let my face shine. This "balancing trick" has gotten me into many doors. But the problems ALWAYS come when I drop my cover and let the hair down.😅 This was in my 20's when my hair was almost hip length. Now, I just keep it between bra-strap and waist length for convenience. Long, healthy hair is such a strong jealousy (and lust) trigger for so many people. At this point, I'm thinking it must be something primal in human beings regarding hair.

Recently, I had this one friend who was unambiguous that would always make negative comments about me, one of my other friends about us being proud of our Asian heritage. I am black Korean and thai and my other friend is black, and Malaysian. Recently me, and this friend had a cut off the unambiguous girl, because she would always try to compare us based on our skin tone and the texture of our hair. the unambiguous girl was also a K-pop fan and would also talk about her weird obsession with Asian men and would often try to flirt with any Asian guy that we would hang out with. She would always make comments about us trying to look more “Asian” even though we naturally have a mix of African and Asian features. it’s crazy how common it is for mixed people to be fetishized and pedestalized, but also hated at the same time. omg i completely agree w this! it's so crazy bc i'm a darker toned mixed black woman (people always tell me i’m ethically ambiguous. they think i’m latina, east african, indian etc) and growing up, i went to black school w rarely any mixed ppl. Even tho i was darker toned, everyone around me knew i was mixed and would bully me, ask me uncomfortable questions about my race etc. My sister is very light skinned and we look like twins (she has very long 4c hair and i have very long 3c hair) just w different skin tones. I would always have to come help her fight bc girls would literally bully her bc she was light skinned. They also told her she couldn't say the N word bc she was white. 🤣 we aren't even white; our dad is puerto rican. Fast forwarding to highschool, i actually had most of my issues w light skinned women. 95% of the women who tried to fight me/ bullied me/ were jealous of me were light skinned women. They would wait for me in groups by the lockers and accuse me of thinking i'm "all that" and better than them; try to humble me, gang up on me etc. I also noticed that with SOME lighter skinned women and white latinas, it infuriates some of them when a black man chooses a darker woman over them . I'm not saying ALL white latinas/ light skinned women are this way; this has just been my experience. Some lighter toned women also believe that they should have favor bc their skin tone is the "standard" and when someone they deem as less than ( based off of skintone) is picked over them it upsets them. I KNOW some light skinned women were bullied simply bc they were light skinned bc I watched it happen to my sister first hand. I just wanted to add my experience to add another layer to the convo. Sometimes it's not just the skintone; it's the hair and the features. I always grew up hearing ppl talk about the bitter jealous dark skinned girl but i've experienced so many bitter jealous light skinned ones too ! along w the dark skinned ones of course. I would often be told "no one's jealous of you" but i've also been approached by ppl who were jealous of me's friends and they told me that person was jealous of me/ obsessed w me 🤣 i think these complexes affect everyone in different ways. Some ppl are innocent and others have sinister intentions. i hope no one misunderstands my comment ❤ oh yea, i was also bullied by teachers 😭 as early as pre k i had adult women trying to humble me. i will never forget it! it almost ruined my confidence but here i am 🎉

    “The purest form of existential envy manifests itself in times of disaster, when people, out of envy of others whose chances of survival they perceive as higher, choose one of several different means of escape and seek to destroy other possibilities of survival or escape.
    In his book The Boat {The Boat), Walter Gibson recounts what happened during World War II when the Dutch ship Rooseboom with 500 Malayan evacuees aboard was torpedoed in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
    Gibson, one of 135 survivors, states that, except that in one of the lifeboats, five soldiers banded together to throw 20 survivors overboard, those who themselves threw themselves overboard, unable to withstand hunger and thirst, seemed jealous of the others who strove to stay in the lifeboat and kept alive the hope of survival they themselves had already parted with."
    Gibson recalls, "Every suicide had one strange trait. As soon as people decided to jump overboard, they seemed to be annoyed that those who remained had a chance of survival.
    They tried to grab food supplies and throw them overboard. Before jumping into the ocean, they tried to pull the plug out of the dinghy to make it leak. Their madness always seemed to take the same form: they must not go off alone, but take everyone else with them."

    The reason why “women that look like them” aren’t as big as Tyla is because they lack confidence and drive and feel they deserve something instead of working hard to gain success. For example. Normani. Normani has no personality in interviews and she doesn’t seem to have drive to make music. Therefore, she will be overshadowed by Chloe Bailey and Tyla. Is it insecurity and fear of failure? Maybe. But they can’t blame skin color for Normani career flopping

    Can you do a video on childhood vs. adulthood colorism/problems? I noticed many uab peoples talking points stop at childhood when all kids are emotionally and mentally underdeveloped. People of all demographics have some negative youth trauma. Abw experiences on the other hand tend to continue and sometimes heighten in adulthood. I am near 40 and it has never stopped. I just thought people didnt like me. Not a victim at all but didnt have youtube or a community with similar experiences coming up. I was literally just stared down at lil caesars last wk and i was in the car. She was walking past and literally was lookin all in my car at me. A glance is normal human behavior but she couldnt take her eyes off me. When i walkd out of place she was outside close by door and still started staring again. I flew the door open like a pizza princess, it almost hit her and got bck in the car. It was very uncomfortable. i had my child and no time for drama. I tend to use several tactics. Staring back, being even happier/confident, givin them a nice nasty stank eye, sarcasm, or completely ignoring them like they dont even exist on earth. Sry this was long

It was watching the vile comments of UABW in that show’s recap/gossip channels that made me unsubscribe from all of those channels along with many UABW channels as well. That show is hugely triggering for them and they use it as an excuse (and we KNOW they will take ANY excuse) to drag MLS for everything they do. It is sickening and since I could no longer be the only one defending MLS in the comments, I left all the online channels that but I still watch the show. I would love to hear your thoughts on that show and the accusations of colorism, if you have any. Thanks for everything you do!

    I wouldn’t even try to insinuate to anybody that they’re jealous of me. I know they’re not going to agree with it so why even start? I just go on and they say it. I’ve had people come back and say it, even if they don’t say the word “jealous.” They’ll day “I remember you always were/had this and that..” “ I remember that time when ....” . Most of the time the times are things I don’t even remember or it wasn’t important to me .... or they remember things in a much bigger/ different way than I do.
    I’m used to getting attention all the time from men and women and I see things differently than they do. Getting attention is huge to them. They assume it’s a big thing to me too and that it’s something I live off of. It’s not. It’s an everyday thing for me

    • @eyesthrurosecoloredglasses
      @eyesthrurosecoloredglasses Před 5 měsíci +3

      I noticed the same thing too. Part of it I think it's because despite us not wanting to admit it, darker black men or just black men in general often put mixed black women as the default black women. On one hand it's great that we're shown in a positive light but it's often bittersweet because there are beautiful non-mixed black women too. Heck there's way more of them than there's of us. And yet black men in the media don't show them, at least not often. That would honestly inspire ire in anyone. It's like with the East Asians, they definitely don't do that with their mixed kids. Their monoracials are their standard of beauty POINT BLANK. It's not even a question. They're not going to prefer a mixed Asian if the person isn't just spectacularly pretty not a preference because they're mixed. I know we have a thing about not making ourselves small and holding our heads high but things like this Tyla placing is one of those things that become noticeable. Especially because not all of us even have exposure to black men believe it or not. I think maybe her being in South Africa it makes sense that they show her next to unambiguous black men often instead of the variety, like say an East Asian or a South Asian men (also her cultures). Maybe it's because her looks appeal to black men more and obviously they're also the majority in South Africa (I hope. And think. I've not been to South Africa). It's not like in the United Kingdom where black women of all sorts are typically shown with a white guy unlike in the US. So maybe it's also a location thing and population prevalence. It's not like the US thing of mixed people being overepresented in the black communities here.
