debatable. most of their albums are pretty much the same thing that the "pop machine" usually grinds out. same with this song. its not intellectual in relation to all of the other pop music thats being produced in the mainstream media.
Wow it really does upset me that AJR is underrated, tbh they really are better than mumble rappers and all the others that mumble. Edit: just to clear some stuff up, I was talking about how underrated they as a group are, not their actual songs, people do know their big songs which is true, but not a lot of people know some of their not-so-popular songs. Also saying how their music is better to listen to than other genres of music that consists of nothing but mumbling. Hope that clears some stuff, and if not- then oh well. Ily have a great day

@@daargran It’s hard to tell who wrote what and I’m sure every artist on the project wrote some of the lyrics. I don’t listen to neither Lil Yachty or Steve’s stuff, so I can only confidently say that the line about being insecure and liking what they’re supposed to line was AJR, because that’s such a classic AJRish thing to say and put out there. Also the high melody in the chorus (“I’m a good-pre-te-ya-yen-der”) was probably AJR’s doing as well, because they’re inspiration around this time came from The Beach Boys, also appearing in the chorus of Weak.
