Jasmine was never the weakest up until the top 4. She actually had strong weeks. Although I am fan, I honestly thought she will be most likely to go that week but Simon was so brutal. At 17, she tried to smile but you can only endure that much, and then she can't hold the tears back, I cried when she cried. Good tv. People of Hawaii did supported her after that. Giving Simon a challenge.
Yeah. But she didn't listen. She got a pass to top 3 but still didn't make the most of it. Simon never said she didn't have the chops to win. What he was saying was that she was choosing safe songs. If she could've sung soulful or pop songs that have amazing melody, she could've made it to finale.

I was voting for Jasmine non-stop since she made the top 12 that year. Glad she ranked 3rd (she deserved it)! Then it was surpassed by Jessica Sanchez where she ranked 2nd behind Philipp Philipps. Proof that those of Asian background deserve more recognition in this competition. So underrated!

After this controversial week in the third season, the judges had a serious overhaul on how they critique the contestants beginning the fourth season. And I mean overhaul that although the original trio remained blunt by average and a lot more no-holds-barred in approach (which I prefer over the latter seasons beginning the year Simon left), they sort of made it sure that contestants in the finals would not have, as much as possible, experience Jasmine's reaction live on TV. To be fair, Jasmine should have been eliminated at this stage but the judges' criticisms, I think, hit hard on her confidence and got her too tense that she broke down to tears, triggering a massive vote for her from Hawaii. It's a bit pretty clear that Simon sounds convincing enough that she should have gone away, but his "You'd better hope that every household in Hawaii has at least 5 telephones, 'cause you're gonna need all the support you can get tonight, seriously" statement and Paula saying "Having said that, all of Hawaii loves you and I think, all of America loves you and I think, they'll forgive you for this" ironically triggered the Hawaiian response to the polls at the expense of Fantasia and La Toya being in the bottom 2, and La Toya leaving instead.

Yeah, I've been lookin' all over for this, ever since I barely missed it when it aired back in '04, and there was no DVR. XD Some girl told me that she felt hella bad for her 'cause she messed up, and all I saw was the part where Ryan Seacrest announced the phone lines. So the question that's been lingering in my mind… What lyrics did she forget?
I dont think she is not deserving, and you know, if there is a unity, you know everyone must be one. offcourse all the Hawaiian supports her for being their native she is the pride of their community as well as the filipino community :)

It definitely wasn’t a great song choice for her, but the judges particularly Simon were a little harsh on Jasmine and it broke her heart and confidence!

Infamous week. She was against three giants and with all the weak people gone her weaknesses starting showing and all eyes were looking for a new weak link. Before this week she was seen as a strong contestant. Then of course she has her two worst performances of the season.
Diana was not super great tbh. She and Jasmine are on the same level. Fantasia on the other hand was like a professional singer already when she joined.

She was up against producers favorite Fantasia, early favorite Latoya, and Diana who emerged as the front runner after top 6 night with Turn the Beat Around. Jasmine couldn't flounder at final 4 and unfortunately she did having a Sanjaya like week and the judges went in on her as the new weak link scapegoat.
Latoya may have been powerhouse but she wasn't impressing Simon on disco night. Both of her disco performances weren't great just lackluster. Jasmine wasn't a powerhouse like the other 3 but I commend her effort on disco night at least she gave her best which I think she did have fun kept it young and I feel she did pretty good even if ppl thought otherwise.
Jasmine was eliminated because her vocal sucks. Maybe you just dont know what singing is or you're on drugs or you just couldnt be objective. I'm a fan of Jasmine, pre top 5. I think before that stage her voice sounds good and I'm asian btw. But I am professional enough to accept the fact that she didnt deserve to win.
