    Some customers choose not to install locks on their panniers because they don’t want to keep track of a key or don’t leave the bike unattended. Also there are people that prefer the old-fashioned pad lock approach which can be used with the hole provided on the latch for this style of security. Some people add locks at a later time so they can match the key to a Touratech locking GPS mount, locking windscreen spoiler or locking oil filler cap.

    There are many things to love about these panniers, but they are not waterproof. I rode 4 hours in a downpour, and thought I must have not closed the box properly - my gear was wet. Second time, a long 8 hour highway ride in the rain, there was 3/4" of water in the bottom. Second issue I have is that you can't use the center stand of the f800GS with the panniers. The design of the center stand isn't great to begin with (crowded to the rear pegs, but when you add the box it covers the side stand. Not the end of the world. Still love the bags so much I ordered the top case - get them, but do not put your laptop into the bags in the rain.

      Your Zega Pro Panniers should be totally waterproof, please contact us at sales@touratech-usa.com and we will get this issue resolved.

    Why are the corners welded while the bottom is riveted? Is the welded seam better?

    They don't include locks because people want options. If everything comes with its own lock pretty soon you have a keychain that's bristling with keys. This way you can work it out so you have a single key for all of your accessories.

      The newer Zega Evo case introduced our quick release system. The Zega puck system does still work great however.

    Very nice product (and video) but for that kind of money I would definitely expect them to come with locks. This is a BIG turn down point!

    I am getting ready to order a set of Tour Tec Panniers from you guys (38 Liter/31Liter). I like the Zega Evo Aluminum Touring panniers and am leaning towards it. But most likely will order the original type, Zega Pro Aluminum Touring Pannier inside locking device, simply because they can be used on either side (giving one more options for use of different sizes on either side of bike). Are the "original" type (with locking on inside) as rugged and reliable as the outside locking systems you offer ? The reason I ask is the possibility that at some point I will want to maybe get the 45 Liter for the left side and use the 38 Liter on the right side (which would be possible with the original interior type locking system but not the outside type locking system). Also how difficult (for lack of a better way to describe) to add handles to top of the panniers ? By the way, I own a 2020 KTM 790 Adventure S the rack I bought from the KTM Dealer off the KTM WEB Site and is already installed on my bike.

      Thanks for the questions. The Zega Pro box is just as tough as the Zega Evo and the mounting system won't release from the rack unintentionally until the box is more round than square. For the Zega Pro I recommend the strap on handles because they are quick to install without any compromises on the box and they double as a strap to tie down additional items.

      @@TouratechUSA Thanks so very much for replying. Can you give me a link to the straps you recommend on Tour Tec USA site ? I will delete the handles and add the straps tp my order instead. I hope you reply soon for I want to order the panniers ASAP so I can start to use them on my motorcycle. Thanks again

GS Fahrer eben ;)

    Can the box fit in 2 helmets?

    Great advert!!! Shouts out from New Zealand. Hey any chance of some free panniers for my Triumph Tiger. I'll be forever in your debt. G ;-)

    strap brackets suck, they need bigger holes so my Roc-Straps buckles to fit through. Compare to the BMW panniers! Also they are very easy for someone to steal by simply wacking the lock bars at the frame, they should have been curved to prevent this.

    • @TouratechUSA
      @TouratechUSA  Před 5 lety +1

      Sorry you feel that way. Anything can be broken into with time and tools. Our panniers provide a safe dry place to keep your valuables temporarily. Our strap brackets are designed to be low profile. This provides a comfortable seat around the camp fire with friends. Try our arno strap, it fits through the bracket with ease.

    The originals are better… The mounting system of these TT’s sucks. Try dismounting the panniers when they are fully loaded 🤦🏻‍♂️

      You are commenting on a 10 year old video showing our old mounting design. Have you tried the newer Zega Evo panniers personally? They are an external quick release design that is stronger and more convenient than the BMW system (which is also produced by Touratech).
