New subscriber and eager to cheer you on your journey northward. One thing about sleeping bags - see if they have a “comfort rating”. That might be more accurate than the usual rating. (Can’t think of the name of it / term.) A bag may say it’s a zero degree bag but it’s really only comfortable down to 20 or 30 degrees. Anyway, I look forward to your big adventure. 😊 Safe journey!

Well ive never had that serious of a reaction, just local swelling usually but they do put 2 in the package when you buy them lol so that may just be the thing to do 🙌
Please please please get the full size Water Filter and take the small as Secondary. People by "Mistake" will take your water filter and as someone who went 26 miles with no water filter and 2L full of dirty water. It really sucks. Please upgrade to the bigger water filter and carry the 2nd with you. You WILL have someone who lost one and you'll save the day. -Smoke Master #1168

I am so glad to see someone hiking the trail with a budget. Your gear looks a lot like mine. I also have a very hard time getting under 35 lbs.

Only thing I would want to add is if you have a serious enough reaction that you need to bring an epi pen you definitely need to bring two!

i took the osprey with me on the PCT,and i love the bag but man that bag is HEAVY ,on the AT i taking a HMG its only 2 pounds
So heavy! But it’s rides well so I’m sacrificing the ultralight for the extra support. We’ll see how it goes. 💪
I have a 65 AG but found a used Exos 58 that is much lighter
