I just assume that Bethany was just in a great place in her life so she didn't need the arc, she was so fake, but currently seems like the most genuine down to earth happiest one of the whole group
Honestly I think it was fine making Bethany a horse. Not every character needs further character development or character arc. Some characters can exist simply for entertainment and don’t need really good writing or reasoning. Bethany seemed to have already been fine with her current life even in the previous movie. Same with Martha, she didn’t change into a different character for long because she was fine with her life. The girls were generally fine and finished with their character arcs.
And if you think about it, Bethany and Alex were trying to quicky get into the game to help her friends. Alex already had Jefferson so its not unimaginable that Bethany ended up as an old ball character considering they had to find a solution to get into the game so quickly and all the other characters were taken. In my personal opinion I liked the unexpected twist and subverting of expectations, youd think shed be in the game as character, but nope just a horse.
Yeah they spent 10 freaking minutes complaining about that but missed the implications entirely! Both interms of what it meant for Bethany and later for Milo.
Honestly, that annoyed me so much that I had to mute though their rants about it!
@@sandpiperr yeah that’s the con to watching reactors that tend to be more critical when making reactions to a movie. Sometimes I wish they could just enjoy the movie as is instead of having to nitpick on things.
It's great to see Stef return to the channel. Also, I loved that they paid a sweet homage to the late, great Robin Williams.

You guys super missed out - there was a post-credits scene, which sets up the final movie. Also, I think you may have missed a key point of the villain - he had a strength and weakness stat block; there's a possibility that he is a PC.
They were too busy whining about the horse again!
Imagine if all the NPC were the souls of the people who actually lost the game and died in Jumanji. That would make the stakes so much sadder and more impactful.

there is a theory that nigel isn't an NPC but the creator of Jumanji as when fridge in the first one says he thinks his name is moose not mouse nigel has an answer for that but the screen clearly says mouse, so he shouldn't have to correct him on that, it seemed super non NPC.

I love that The Rock, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black got the opportunity to play the opposite of their usual roles. In an interview, Jack Black even stated that he had a teenage girl's persona in mind, but he never realised that he'd actually get to use it!

I don't agree with you about the horse character because only then can Milo stay in Jumaji forever. If he had been a character like the others then he would have been expelled once the game was finished. and if he came back as a normal player I don't think he could stay in jumanji in peace and without playing. however if I'm not mistaken there is also a post credit scene
that's what i thought too! perhaps jumanji made the horse character for milo, this way it will never be a playable character in the future
There is supposed to be a sequel in the works. Was supposed to start filming as soon as the Rock finished his current project, but then they had the writter strike or whatever it is. So I'm sure it got pushed back to later in 2024 if not 2025.

The post credit scene is Jumanji animals running through the streets of the real world. So a hint that a new installment might go back to the original concept.
I love the idea of Jumanji teaching the kids by putting them in bodies/personalities that they wouldnt want. Especially Fridge as soon as he had Ruby’s powers he used them foolishly.
Really wished yall saw the end credits, because it sets up a whole bucket of theories for what the next movie will be like. Im thinking theyll need to trace Jumanji’s history to find the creator in order to fix it.
Cant wait to see what you guys react to and glad you guys had fun with this movie even with the bit of lazy writing it had.
I’m hoping they do another and I love your theory on the characters and their peaks and lows. I agree it was a great story to show what it’s like when the characters switch bodies.

I was a bit torn on how I felt about the horse thing too, but over all this movie made me laugh as much as "Welcome to the Jungle" did. I really love the little cameo by Nora. Yes she was the aunt of the two kids in the original. However, I don't think she would have any clue about Jumanji because when the game resets to the 60s, only Alan and Sarah remember what happened so Nora would have no clue what that is. So I'm interested to see who or what cameos they would try to do for the third installment after the teaser of the the game perhaps coming back into the real world. Either way, loved your commentary!
Well shit, turns out your right, Nora is the aunt from the original, not the just same actress, but the actual character from the original.
With all these comments celebrating Stef's return (which I COMPLETELY agree with - Stef, I want to see you in as many videos as you're comfortable being in!) I just wanted to add that I also love Maria and will continue to watch her in videos.
And for anyone who isn't watching The Buff Summer, check it out! I didn't watch it for a while because I've never been interested in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy watching a new person, but I gave the first episode a try and then I binged all of them. Now I can't wait for the next videos to come out! Highly recommend, ya'll.

It's nice to see you guys together again. I loved the first Jumanji, this one was was a lot of fun too.
Funfact: The reason why "evil is green" is a result of printing limitations back in the day. For example: Spiderman was red because it's the most striking color, and the west associates it with life, thus your heroes and leader characters are often red back in the day. The opposite of red is green (which is why that's what's used for stoplights). So to easily signify the opposite of the hero with fewer colors, you have green goblin, doctor doom, even the hulk is green and that's to show that he's seen as the villain when he's not.
Bethany had an amazing character arc in the last movie.
Kevin Hart playing an old man is far more amusing than I thought it would be.

I actually really appreciate the opening of this. Everything pregame is just well done in my opinion which made me a bit more critical once they were in the game. One of the things that bugs me most about when they first arrive is not arming themselves/preparing while trying to make the two old guys understand what's happening. They know there are weapons in that backpack. Arm yourselves! Pull out as much useful gear as you can to have on hand/distributed between you. One of you has skills with nunchucks? None on hand? Check The Bag! Also, inform the guy playing bravestone that he needs to carry the other two while running away if something goes wrong. I felt vindicated when Sam brought it up. 54:40 also, if they can get clothes/change outifts why does Karen Gillian have to spend the bulk of two movies in that outfit? I cant express how much I would have loved for the character to say "Im not doingnthis again!" And steal some clothes off an NPC who'd been knocked unconcious. 1:15:44 "Im just bored. That's almost worse." "Its lazy." This whole section of commentary hadmme nodding along but I kind have been for awhile because the last of the movie really was a let down. Lots more to be critical of.
Also, does anyone else feel like a character staying behind in the game was done as an excuse for them to not immidiately destroy the game console again after leaving it and so they put everything else about the character aside for that?

For some reason, my brain says 11am is the proper start to brunhc, 10:35-45 is early brunch time, but before that your still in breakfast territory. I didnt even realize this was a rule in my head until the guys brought it up. What makes it weirder is usually I stick with the thinking that breakfast is the meal with which you breK your fast so whatever meal is the first of the day is breakfast. Wft brain?

In my opinion this is an alright sequel I mean yeah it’s sort of the same story as the first one but least they added new levels to it and new characters as well like the legendary actors Danny Devito and Danny Glover 😄and of course the old ones as well and them acting as there avatars is always fun to watch 😊 although I do admit it’s sad that Milo stays behind and he says goodbye Eddy but at least he gets a chance to live 😊 I’m happy to see Stef again and hope he is doing alright and thank you both for the reaction 😊😄😉❤️ps that was Aunt Nora from the first Jumanji movie.

I love this movie! I agree it got lazy toward the end and the horse was a weird addition. But I hope the next movie, with a totally different premise (in the real world), gives the writers more room. A truer sequel to the og Jumanji would be cool.
Yeah, I was hoping to find out there thoughts and if they have theories on how its gonna go but when you need to be done you need to be done. Personally when I realized the next movie was gonna be Jamanji coming into the thier world I got really excited cause I'd like to see more of the "real life" actors playing these characters and I am so so hoping we're gonna see the player characters come into their world and they will get to interact with them and we all get to see what their personalities are meant to be when they arent taken over.
I have a Resmed machine or CPAP machine as it’s commonly known as; however I noticed that the S6 model of Resmed was fairly loud. The S 10 model that I have now is fairly silent.
It’s designed to prevent partner disturbance. My mother’s S9 is similar.
I’ll say this with a CPAP machine you get used to it or you get dead.
When I was tested, they said that I had the worst Apnea and Hypoxia rate they had ever seen And I was falling asleep at work.
Once I got the machine, everything cleared up I got better sleep I could function better during the day it saved my job.
But all in all, I’ve enjoyed your reactions.

The scary part is that there’s been a apparent sighting of a snake that size in the Amazon rainforest. And its even crazier to think about the fact there were even bigger snakes than that called Titanoboa
Scarier still when considering the illegal animal trade and people purposely bringing animals into places they would never be found naturally, how regularly we hear about those animals bei g released or escaping, and how they usually have a special intrest in rare, dangerous, or "impressive" specimens. I live in the north east US. Not that long ago we had an alligator show up in one of our water treatment plants. Never Should Have Happened.

So how many people realized the main bad guy was a playable character? He had a weaknesses strength screen like the all the others did.
I think thwy went too hard on Bethany being a horse, she's in such a great place character wise I don't think we needed much more from her.
Another way to look at it, Bethany is the talkative extrovert who was forced to not be heard, for all we know she could learn to be more still or take up running 😂.

That said, not in agreement about the character of Bethany.
Sh is an established character already and is a supporting character in this movie. Her arc from the first left her in a great place for her. She isn't in need of a major arc this movie.
I never understood the expectations that just because a character exists and has a prominent supporting role, they need to force a major plot point on them. I mean they could have left her out since she doesn't have an arc if you prefer, yet that would have been more noticeable and undermined where she ended up last arc. Alternatively they could have tried to force an arc on her and it may have fell flat or not. Where does Bethany need to go as a person is the question?
Milo, Spencer, and Spencer's Grandfather have the Major arcs. Fridge has an additional minor arc while the others mainly have supporting roles.
I actually liked what Sam and Stef said/theorized about who the game put in which bodies based on their needs in relation to Bethany. Based on that the game probably would have just skipped Bethany in the inital taking because she grew enough in the first movie and since to really be okay.

The only thing you missed watching the end credit scene is a repair man touches the Jumanji game and the animals run in front of the main characters at the restaurant.
If you like body switching and Alan Tudyk, do I have a show for you. Especially since Sam is watching Buffy, I def recommend Dollhouse. Not technically body switching, more like mind switching, but still, similar concept for the actors
I still think that Bethany and Martha would’ve been a much better couple.

Stef, take it from someone from the very snowy part of a cold country (Sweden), winter and snow is only fun when it's actually cold (like at least-10C) and there's loads of snow. When the temperature is around 0 it becomes this weird mixture of mud and snowy sludge and it's so slippery everywhere, which was basically my existence during my uni years in the south of Sweden. I will say though, as someone who lived in Australia for a bit, Australian winters do not mess about! I've rarely felt as cold to my core as I did in Brisbane in July lmao

The horse is the greatest part of the last part of this film. Who wouldn't want to be a Friesian? Most beautiful horse on the planet. Breath guys. Wait for the information. Also, this is what happens when Hollywood insists on making 1,000 sequels to a movie that was okay to begin with. They should have stopped with the first one. You know there is going to be a third.
Yeah as someone who has also dealt with every kind of sprained ankle and is having troubles healing a broken one, that hurts way more than how that looked in that scene 😂
