Brilliant interview l could have listen for another couple of hours. I really did go to a school like Karl lmfao
I love Karl, he really gives this shit life a redeeming quality.
This actually gave me a lot of insight into my own life, Karl is genuinely a really smart guy and this podcast shows it more than any other thing I've seen or heard of him
Likewise! He analyses the workings of his brain the way I never do. And apparently i'm so similar haha, never would have thought.
This is my 3rd listen to this podcast since it came out... these two really work well together and it paints a picture of Karl's life before fame. I love the XFM stuff with Karl, but Ricky often doesn't give Karl time to explain his points fully before bursting into laughter!
I also agree with Karl on so many things here, the 'Happy Birthday' song, the 'forced fun', 'we should watch insects'...he really is a philosopher of the modern day.
I'm so gonna use that line now in future when someone asks if I read "no I'm saving it for when I'm older"
I love how Karl still says the paper round was the best job he ever had.
That's cause he was lifting a free Mars Bar every morning from the shop
Brilliant interview this! Adds a lot of background to the stuff from the XFM shows
Lol Karl is always going on holiday.
Love this interview, its refreshing where Ricky isnt interrupting Karl all the time
Excellent. Karl without a tazer in his side is brilliant.
Cracking podcast, great to hear more of Karl’s early years!
Best interview I've heard on Karl.
I was gonna pop champagne but that gives Karl heartburn!! 😜 thanks for this mate… Karl was the best part of XFM and all the rest that followed.. I’m 99.99999% we all listened for our Karl .. period. Cheers for this podcast
Side bar… I didn’t listen to the Ricky Gervais show for Ricky… did any of us? Facts
"Look! There goes an egg with sideburns!"
This is part 1, part 2 just got released. Look for "Two Shot Podcast" (not Two Shots Podcast) on Google Podcasts for another 1½ hours with Karl (and a promised part 3 in the future teased at the end).
Amazing... He juat seems happy..the dude with karl isn't criticizing.. Just a joy of a show and went by quick... Karl ricky n steve alwaya put me to bed cause i can basically quote every show and podcast they've ever done..this was new and couldn't fall asleep lol
This was Epic. Thank you! 👏
Gold!
Karl is hilarious 😂
Sounds like the North's version of Derek and Clive AKA Pete & Dud
Why didn’t he ask him what he talked about?
Mad Karl ...lol.
The Scottish fella, couldn’t get into his emails..
Kenny loggins
It's scary how old Karl looks in the picture. Like a frail guy down the pub
@smalla weyhey11 maybe he's just not as active but in my mind I think of an idiot abroad and then that picture
He is nearly 50 tbf now, although I know what you mean. I think the fact that it's in black and white doesnt help matters...
turns out he was a character.
He should keep his pictures. He could sell them. That could be his hobbie
Any chance of getting PILKIO back on. He's fell off the map recently 😢
Hahahahaa someone getting hit on the head with a Golf ball
Karl is a smart guy, funnier than Gervais all day long
This guy sounds soooooooo similar to Ricky Gervais. His voice, this tone, how he speaks, the accent, they sound exactly the same.
Craig: "Well, I think this is a good place to stop, don't you think? I could spend another two hours talking. Have you enjoyed this?"
Karl: (finally feeling optimistic) "Yeah, this was good I had fun!"
Craig: "I'm so glad to hear that. It's been a real pleasure sitting down to chat with you, Karl."
Karl: "Yeah good that, innit?"
Craig: "Oh, almost forgot, Karl."
Karl: "Yeah?"
(Craig pulls off mask...)
Ricky Gervais: "AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAA~!!"
Nathan T it’s very similar apart from the accent. It’s like Ricky doing his Manc accent impression of Karl.
These 2 have a good chemistry .
It's nice to for someone to actually listen and be constructive to what Karl says as opposed to Ricky who is constantly trying to interrupt and talk over him to appease his own ego. Albeit there was quite a lot of recycled anecdotes from the XFM days but it was interesting hearing how Karl got into radio in the first place and fair play to Craig Parkinson for being a good host and letting his guest do the talking.
