2 days ago when I got caught in a rip current in a rough sea with powerful waves- and was unable to swim to a nearby jetty due to the force of the current - a man spotted me and threw the ring buoy towards me keeping hold of the rope , and once I grabbed hold of it - he dragged me alongside the pier to a metal ladder that enable me to get out

So the Presenter has a lifejacket but the person throwing the life buoy does not wear one.
