Funny that you said "missing you" gives you a feel of an old song 😂 because gd once said that he made this song particularly with that in mind!! He said that its a pop song in the past generation that his mom and dad used to listen to

GD did an interview along with Teddy and Choice37 (among others) in Complex that seem to suggest the songs on this EP were perhaps cut from Coup d'Etat. That may explain why it isn't really cohesive.
"I have a lot of records that I sketched out, but they’re not really organized properly. So instead of putting out incomplete records, I wanted to trim things down and make it super tight. That’s why we put out the One of a Kind (2012) mini-album out first."
Seriously would LOOOOVE to see a Hanbin and GD collab but since GD is still with YG that won’t be happening anytime soon… I’m immensely enjoying all these BigBang reactions! Thank you from one VIP to another❤

I often got Ji and Ri’s voices confused in the beginning, especially when Ji Yong sings softly without using nasal voice.

GD said that he didn't think the flow of the album for this one, bc people choose few songs they like and listen to them on repeat in their own order anyway. So he just chose songs he liked best and put them together.
Rosè was 16 and just a trainee when this was published and he wasn't allowed to tell her name or anything. GD chose her for her voice. I think that was pretty much all he said about the song when this was released, he was just talking about this trainee girl that is really good.
@@maychid999 actually GD never promoted Rosé, when this song came out he didn't reveal the name of the trainee who sang it, Rosé was officially credited only AFTER she debuted with blackpink in 2016, and also, when this song came out, Rosé was a recent trainee because she had just arrived in korea, it wasn't decided yet if she was going to be part of Blackpink, so he definitely didn't promote Blackpink with this song.

After your last Gdragon listening party I realized I didn't own the one of a kind album (on itunes) so I purchased it especially for the Missing you and Today.

Agree about how popular and successful BIGBANG members are as solo artists. I know that ticket sales and other statistics have limited meaning, but up to now, looking at BOTH kpop GROUP and SOLO world tours, G Dragons Act 111: M.O.T.T.E. solo world tour comes 5th in number of ticket sales. It goes:
1. BTS Love Yourself World Tour 2019 with 62 concerts and 1.04 million tickets sold
BTS EXTENSION TOUR Love Yourself and Speak Yourself 2019 with 20 concerts and approx 980,000 tickets sold.
Total of combined tour and extention was 82 concerts and approx. 1.98 million to 2 million tickets sold.
2. BIGBANG MADE World Tour 2016 with 66 concerts and 1.5 million tickets sold
3. BIGBANG ALIVE world tour 2013 800,000 tickets sold
4. EXO Planet World Tour 2016 740,000 tickets sold
5. (GD) Kwon Ji-yong Act III: Motte World Tour 2017 654,000 + tickets sold
TVXQ, BIGBANG and Rain had some higher selling asian tours. Also Blackpinks current world tour looks to top 1.5 million ticket sales. I'm sute other groups are going to habe great success in filling world tour venues in the future, but i wanted to put BIGBANG solo world tour success in context in its time frame.
As a kpop solo world tour, it is i believe still the highest in terms of ticket sales. Maybe BTS members will change that this year.

@@xoxlove6101 thanks for comment - i have checked more sources now. It seems that up to the start of this year his last world tour was 5th highest ticket selling world tour. I really just wanted to put into context the level of success as a solo artist. I was only looking at world tours.
that love yourself world tour numbers made up from 2 different world tour but for some reason all the articles in the internet made this fake statisctics. 0to10 tour is not even a world tour, they only went to korea, jp, and hongkong
@@farfar8773 thank you, you are right about the 0. To 10. Tour. Also agree that the Love yourself tour was made up of the main tour Love Yourself tour and an extension tour Love Yourself Speak Yourself, but as they did run almost consecutively i counted them as one.

Most of the collabs internally in YG especially with BP was because of promotion, every single group right from 2NE1, AKMU to Treasure were promoted by Bigbang especially GD before they debut. YG recommended Jennie for That XX but I’m not sure if that is the case for Rose.
Tablo had a scandal where he said he got a degree from US university in some years I don’t exactly remember but knets thought it was impossible to do that and abused him a lot. It was so much that epic high had to leave their company too, later PSY invited epic high to YG and the song is kinda diss on the Korean netizens who turn their back and abuses the artists.
I definitely agree about the title track it is so hard to choose a title track, not only in this one but in all GD albums as you will discover. Even in this although the title track is OOAK, That XX which is a b side got #1 in all the music charts and achieved a PAK

The amount of BIGBANG content that comes out from this channel should be a crime now 🤣. Keep up the amazing work ! You're in for a treat for his songs, but you already know. For so long, we all thought that GD and Jennie would be perfect for each other, I mean, they both are savage and just the best. They could've become K-pop's power couple 😆.
For the love of Bigbang and GD especiaaly, please don't associate that grp or j* in particular with GD. Haven't you seen the amount of hate he is receiving from the pink fandom.
At the time of that video, GD was 24 and Jennie was 16. She was a trainee at the time and I think she was in the video for the modeling experience (MV appearances, even if there is a story, is considered "modeling" in Korea for some reason - probably having to do with labor laws). I'm not sure if there was any additional message behind the video.
So Epik High joining YG is actually a very interesting story. Back in the day Tablo went through some major controversy. I really couldn't explain what all happened without writing a huge wall of text but if you're interested in learning about it, there's actually a podcast about it called Authentic: The Story Of Tablo.
Just know that it was a very devastating time in his life where the Korean public largely turned on him for what you'll learn was no good reason and as a result of that either Epik high ended up being dropped by their label or they left bc of how bad they were being perceived ( i dont remember which it was). During that time, Tablo's wife who is an actress was signed to YG, and he's said that despite the fact that he had no real affiliation with the company, YG would send a car out for Tablo to take him places when he needed without him even asking. That touched him so much that it ultimately was what made him decide to join the company. The fact that they were being so kind to him when sooooo many ppl had done the opposite during that time.
I believe Tablo actually signed by himself first and released his first solo album under YG which features Taeyang in the song No Tomorrow. I took that collaboration as a way of properly introducing Tablo as part of YG. Epik High signed as a group to YG as well not too long after. I think the Light It Up feature kind of came about bc GD really wanted him on the track and asked him.
Taeyang is also featured on Epik High's song called Rich (which I love love love. You should listen to it) and Tablo has done a cover of Eye's Nose Lips featuring Taeyang as well.
Ah wow, so much happened with Tablo and Epik High. Thank you for sharing how a lot of things came about, its starting to make a bit more sense now. I'm gonna listen to that podcast, sounds really insightful.

That XX is about a guy(the sweet character played by Ji) in love with the girl(Jennie’s character) but she’s with this other guy(The tattooed character played by Ji) and he cheats and doesn’t treat her right. He’s singing abt how he sees this but she doesn’t(oh baby you’re so blind). The actress choice was by YHS and not Ji for the video to get exposure for the upcoming new girl group members who were still trainees at the time. I don’t think it was the best decision bc of how young she was. It’s not an mv I like to watch. Nothing about Jennie but it threw off the vibe of the mv bc she was young(16) and looked even younger.
"Missing you" ft IU is iconic.. but ft Dara is on another level... you can watch their version on motte concert in Manila..
Rosé was a trainee when she featured. In here she used a lower tone of her voice, I personally love it ❤

This is not his first album. This is his second full album, the first one is Heartbreaker from 2009. And also, there are other songs on this album that you didn't react to like window and niliria.
