Yea, there is a reason why PS1 and PS2 era horror games where scarier than horror games today. It has lot to do with graphics. Because the graphics weren't pixel perfect like today, it made our own subconscious mind do more work etc...

Great game! but I don't understand why Jerome put the mask on at the end. It didn't seem to me like he was trying to kill anyone but rather avenge his brother by luring Joseph into finally revealing he was the killer to begin with.
Maybe he becomes a vigilante, a serial killer of serial killers, like Dexter, and dons the mask as a warning that even the most dangerous aren't safe

Working the graveyard shift, I can confirm that we usually work alone. The only ones that are up during the times I work are the sundowners and people who are on the doorstep of death itself.
When the Walmarts were still 24 hrs my father preferred to do the grocery shopping in the wee hours of the morning. He said the only other folks there were the elderly, the invalids and 3rd shifters. He was medically disabled himself due to numerous spinal snd cardiac surgeries. He liked it cause all the Walmarts round here are crazy busy during “normal” shopping hours and it would be very crowded with long waits to check out (this was longggg before self checkout was the norm).
In rural areas teens that were out of HS, but still under 21 would “hang out” in the wally world parking lot as well as just wander around the store.
When i was 19 snd volunteered at s special needs sunmer camp, me and the most attractive female counselor “snuck out” in my convertible to go fetch supplies for the camp st like 3 am and man oh man did we have a good time :)
