- Brandi Carlile is joined by Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready to perform The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses". The fourth annual Raise The Roof - a benefit for the Looking Out Foundation - took place at The Triple Door in Seattle, WA on September 8, 2012, and raised over $30,000.

In its 4th year, Raise the Roof promises to offer an evening of music and fun like no other!
Held at Seattle's famed Triple Door, Raise the Roof's attendees are an integral part of the evening as they are encouraged to take an active role in the Looking Out Foundation's campaigns and grassroots efforts to support those in need at a local, regional and national level.
Since 2009, The Raise the Roof Benefit has raised $65,000 for the Looking Out Foundation - focusing on causes such as The IF Project, Maple Valley Food Bank and many more. Each September, 250+ attendees spend an evening recognizing, celebrating and supporting these causes.
In 2012 Brandi Carlile announced the Looking Out Foundation is now a "public charity" - allowing them to "DO" more important things as opposed to simply "giving money" to important things. With a newly-appointed Executive Director and Board of Directors, Looking Out Foundation hopes to expand its efforts to include grassroots campaigns, street teams and special events. The Foundation will empower others to be more engaged, take action and reach out to those in need.
Raise the Roof 2012 will encourage its attendees to take an active role in philanthropy -- whether it be through volunteering, donating time/money, spreading the word about specific causes, etc. -- through the Looking Out Foundation. The evening will include amazing raffle items (including a VIP Fan package, iPad bundle, autographed guitar and much more), presentations about Looking Out Foundation's campaigns and causes, highlighted by a special performance by Brandi Carlile (and maybe even a surprise guest or two). - Hudba
One of the most talented artist I've seen in years
CZcams Brandi Carlile
Saturday Night Live
Broken Horses
Unbelievable
That was so damn beautiful. And it looked like Mike was having a really good time. :) They were both so great.
I've always loved this song. Love to hear you sing Brandi !!😊
Omg, amazing ❤️👏 can I also mention that she has such a caring heart with her foundation, Thank you Brandi 🤗♥️
Tears have been cried.
I just found Brandi Carlisle in my suggestions about a month ago, maybe two. Probable because of The Grammy, or Obama’s favorite list. So so so many damn good artists out there. The invention of the internet, in the last 25 years, has broaden my horizons. I do miss the library once in awhile though. I’m a lover of music. I can sing, play guitar and the piano, none of which I’m good at! Ha ha. I do enjoy getting through a piece and not making a mistake. I am 50 now, with a 19 and 17 year old, and have taken them on the musical journey. When I find a new artist or one rediscovered, I enjoy studying them for about a good 2 months. I hope when I die, and *fingers crossed*, I get to go to heaven, I can pull myself away and continue my studies. A thought occurred to me, wait, I’m going to hear angels. Oh boy oh boy, I’m not going to want to pull myself away from that! Sorry for the ramblings..... I don’t get out much.
❤
Who’s here watching after Brandi released Broken Horses?
Two of the greatest on the stage together. Incredible.
Beautiful ... Love you Brandi 💖🌹
Great song...great voice🤗
One of my favorite musicians (Brandi Carlile) doing my favorite Rolling Stones song ever!! I'm in heaven!!!
This is too much...I get the pleasure of seeing Mike and Brandi from time to time, but this is my favorite of their duets!
Would love to see a session with Mike Campbell and Mike McReady ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Excellent!!!! Why dont we hear brandi and Grace potter on the radio? In the old days 70 -80 we would . something wrong here.
Mike McCreary is and has always been one of the best yet underrated guitarist to ever play!! Hats off Mr McCreary hats off
*McCready
No doubt! He is one of my all time favorite guitar players... I find it amazing his name is not more known... Maybe if he wore a funny hat and sunglasses indoors people would notice him more?
Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can't let you slide through my hands
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away
I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you've decided to show me the same
No sweeping exit or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away
I know I've dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I don't have much time
Faith has been broken tears must be cried
Let's do some living after we die
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses we'll ride them some day
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses we'll ride them some day
Thanks for the lyrics ❤
❤
Love her to bits
Well . . Get your eyes her; she's mine 🌹🤣
My head just exploded.
I needed this!! for the reason I keep expressing to alot of my friends,,
Talent American Idol & The Voice Auditions is a great thing & a bad thing #1.Yea They found a WINNER!
#2. The raw talent that they dismissed usually is in an embarrassing career ending way for some of these kids.
We as musicians love to be loved and can get that
in our hometown pubs & small venue gigs we work our ASS off to bring it to you and leave it on every stage.
I'm blown away by the talent here in Dallas Texas,,, I'm amazed how friends of mine and myself lol. never got signed and have our own songs, great players, Never once have I in 35 years seen or met any of the great folks from any record label looking for talent...
But I'm OK with it when A beautiful soul like Brandi Carlile pops up on my Cable T. V Music Choice Adult Alternative channel singing "The Joke" At about 4:30 today
That version then the Studio live version then On The Jimmy Kimmel Show Live. I shared all 3 To All my friends on Facebook Lol no kidding happy mind blowing tears rolling down my face
As this song has me making love to her voice,,,
Deep love I have for a chic that can blow me away like that.
She rings of Roy Orbison & Patsy Cline to me And crosses over nicely and does Wild Horses as a Music Loving Talent Performer should do...They make love to it! Edie Brickell' Low key breath happy over produced versian
Is missing that Wowness!
I'm 55 and its funny as Shows are on the hunt for A voice they can mold into eh! Good talent,,, Here comes Brandi Carlile with that very thing you can't teach, mold, or pay for!
I think The Joke is one of those Iconic songs that will be the test for those Voices that dream of getting noticed on a mighty big stage.
And I say
But most of all don't ever give up music
Just be yourself, comfortable in your own skin. Your influences will be heard and be the flavor and the color
Let it flow!
And come naturally as
Positivity. Love of music.
thanks for uploading this.
Wow, just WOW!!!!!!

I love you brandi
Just Love everything you do...

Desde Chile .Hermoso tema, te Amo Brandy. Saludos

I wish I could have heard Gram Parsons and Brandi do this together.

Congratulations Brandi, not easy to cover! Thanks Jason Tang a lot for shooting and uploading this video.
I love pearl jam music...
I then found brandi and liked her music a lot....
and now the two of them come togheter (sort off)
Vem um filme na cabeça !
Wild Couple!!!
That is awesome! I knew I liked her.
👍👍👍👍
Best son of rs
Should I listen again or did she miss the sentiment in the verse “Wild horses, we’ll ride them some day”? I could see, feel a genuine connection between Brandi & McCready and the subtle guitar fills were perfect.
She missed it
The Triple Door. You never know.
I hope they don’t close Showbox. I saw Iggy Pop there.
Nice! But if you really love this song hear it from Kathleen Jenkins (Britain's Got Talent 2016) - out of this world performance!
lyrics are on the stage
And you're point??
when I look at the thumbnail, I thought it was Karen Carpenter
Pedro Oliveros I belong to a Brandi Carlile fan club, on FB, and many people have made the same comparison.
I thought the first line was "tired living" until I saw this video.
Love me a Brandi...but I could have sung this without looking at the lyrics...
When I wrote this I had not a glimmer who would push this story into the world ..
good for sure but ya know The Flying Burrito Brothers own this --
Old and in the Way..
Patti Smith does it quite well too.
The Stones. The End.
But this is a great cover.
Sorry Mick, she owns it.
I don't want to say Mike McCready is looking older, but for a split second I thought that was Keith Richards.
Is she 100% gay? Off topic. She's so talented. i've got a huge crush on her & completely support her ,whatever her she's into..... She's just amazing.
feel like Mike screws up the progression a bit but I'll forgive him
This is a great song. Both performers are great, but in this case I think less wmbellishme t from Brando Carlisle woud have been better.
that was great, but seriously... why does it seem like her eyes won't open all the way in this video?
I think she's reading the lyrics at her feet. There's paper one the floor that you notice in the long shots.
Originally( from the storytellers’ intent) the lyrics were “ wild horses couldn’t drag me away”..then “ and wild wild horses, couldn’t make me stay”
This is a song from gram parsons portfolio who obtained the lyrics from ....whom ? Why, little old me, that’s who: also dead flowers: how did that old smack addict get these storylines since I know for a fact he did not pen them collaboratively or otherwise
this is fantastic, although the guitar is out of tune, which drives me nuts,
They don't know much about horses ...
Well, I mean not really, how she knows the stones or their managing staff is not my undertaking
Didn't like it.
‘Course, everything she does someone taught her via writing and performing it for her to copy
wish I shared the same sentiment......
Her vibrato is forced and pitch, at best, is shaky.
no thanks
Go check out her performance of The Joker from the Grammy's a couple nights ago. Maybe it'll change your mind about her. She stole the show.
Are you kidding me? Get your ears checked guy. She’s fucking phenomenal. Let’s hear you try and sing that. STFU...
@@davidbitterman my fav. of all time and I love her, but no.
She has enough time not to write her own copy
Back her up dude, God this is so painful to watch
At least smash your guitar or something so we believe you are who you say you are
average singer
Are you crazy her voice is amazing .
Brandi Carlisle does nothing about this storyline but yell well: she doesn’t have the demeanor to authenticate a reason for her to render it.
