That plant is called Annapurna plant in Odisha. The leaf of that plant is used in any kind of rice items like sweet pulao, or any pulao types or u can use it in steamed rice to get basmati rice fragrance. Very nice smell

That plant is called pandan 'famous in Sri Lanka 'Malasia.One or two leaves could be used when tempering whole garam masala while making pulao ,biryani'kurma ect.I use them often,it gives an awesome flavour to the recipe.I would suggest you try it.In the south we als o call it Rambha plant,
