I'm honestly surprised at the sheer amount of plastic...
Before selling our old version I thought it's best to fully get rid of all the dust, then reassemble it. This helped quite a lot, and will hopefully therefore last a decent amount of time for the next person too
Thanks a lot! I forgot how to reassemble after cleaning everything.
Perfect video for my needs. My Dyson V6 works better than ever. Thanks!
Great, thanks for the feedback!
Hey! Thanks a lot for your help, this video was very useful! 😉
Thank you very much! This was excellent. I needed the guidance to reassemble the machine.
Glad to hear that and thanks for the feedback :)
Excellent vid thank you after cleaning everythingb, the suction has come back like brand new!!!
Mines jammed up i disassembled and cleaned it but I think something is broken I'm trying to figure out what. Thanks!
Helpful video, I found I needed a torch and a magnetic Phillips screwdriver to position the screws as they kept dropping into the gaps below then my non-magnetic Torx 8 to screw them down (before fitting the conical piece). By the way your voice is not projecting very well to the audience.
Thanks for the tip, have bought external microphone for this :)
Great Video! Do you happen to have any knowledge / pictures on the insides of the red lever assembly on the main body ( the part that moves up and down to release the dust bin and dustbin lid). Mine fell out when cleaning and I don't know where to put the springs and part back in.
Sorry didn't had the need to take this part of the Dyson apart..
To bad some of the dissassembly is not captured by the camera - actually most of the steps that i have troubles with are not on cam
Sorry about that.. made some improvements for closeup shooting but still need to get something for filming biger things..
Thanks so much for your excellent, well detailed and explained video. You are a legend!
Thanks for a good word ;) hope it helped you
It sure did. Thanks 🙏🏼
Any way to remove the grey nozzle from the dust collection bin? I've removed the only screw I can see, but it still seems to be held on with something other than click tabs.
I need to disassemble it to cut away portions of the keyed power connector so it will work with more powered attachments
Sorry haven't tried that..
have you found the way to remove that bloody nosle?
i can't find instructions anywhere
@@kodi-78 Sadly not. Without breaking it apart to see what was holding it together I couldn't find a way to separate them, and I couldn't risk breaking it. In the end I just used a combination of a drill and stanley knife to remove the keyed protrusion, though in hindsight, heating a small chisel with a blowtorch and slicing it away would have been much cleaner.
Given how little purpose the key serves outside reducing compatibility between parts and forcing you to buy new ones, I'm inclined to guess they deliberately made it hard, or even impossible to separate
Great video.
Could you make one on how to reassemble the clips and spring of the handle please ?
The part with the serial number fell off on mine and I can't figure out to put the parts of the handle lock back together... -_-
Thanks
Hi, you mean the power unit? it's possible to disassemble it but it's quite difficult and I believe there are quite a lot of variations depending on the model..
how do i get the ball assembly back in the head? Seems it needs a combo of push and twist but cant figure it out
Sorry difficult to understand at which place you have problem.. my suggestion would be to check previous step if you have everything all the way in.. usually it snaps in place quite ok if everything is in its places
@@letsfixitgarage Thanks. I eventually realised my error, I'd put the housing around it back together and then tried to shove it in, but the housing has a lug that slots in to the ball assembly when the assembly is already in place. I removed all the housing, put the ball assembly in place, then put all the housing back on and it was fine.
Phew :D
nose from the dust bin it is not easy to remove.
I actually tried to unscrew it but sits well even without screw and i am searching for how to do it.
Didnt want to break it
so if its ease perhaps you should film it.
Yes, this one is hard, I tried to take it off but was unable as well.. didn't wanted to brake it. Maybe if I will get my self one as a donor then I could go harder, even try to brake it and see what is holding it..
You are missing the lower part of the machine. It has a 12V motor.
For the motorized powerhead I have a separate video.
Not full disassembly. I am trying to fix the motor head with the rotating brush. No information on that.
Done that :) czcams.com/video/y5kyOUaxKM0/video.html ofcourse not sure what level of repair you are trying to perform..
When taking apart the brush head a curved metal strip fell out. I am unsure as to where it belongs
Difficult to say and sorry to say it but it's the only brush head that I tookapart and cleaned so everything is in that video. And they can be different depending on the model.
you skipped the part I'm having difficulty with :-(
Sorry for that.. What part is it? it's quite some time ago, but maybe I'll remember it..
@@letsfixitgarage I struggled to get the cyclone assembly off. But I found another video, and eventually got it off, thanks
Not a good video - a lot of what you are doing is out of camera shot.
Valid criticism. I have improved my setup a little bit to have a better overview of what is in shot but still not perfect..
