- Today I am going to be discussing my thoughts on the best Platinum coins to buy when deciding on purchasing 1 ounce platinum coins! There are many different series and coins to choose from when going the 1 ounce route!

Hey brother . So the savage (3rd person 😂 ) is starting to get into platinum. I know we’re talking about coins in this video. But what do you think about bars . I got a bunch of 1/10 oz kooks on the way and I have a few 1/10oz Britannia’s already but I’m thinking about the full ounce in bar form just for the low premiums.

bars are a solid low premium option! their premiums usually hold pretty steady which is nice for liquidity!

The majority of my Platinum is in Proof American Eagle sets.......it don't get too much better than that!

I pulled the trigger today on that platinum ox we spoke about. Is confirmed on preorder so cant show it yet. Paid more than expected but less than the other couple places were selling them for. If i buy more platinum this year it will be a lower premium next time. The mouse premium went nuts afterwards but this isnt the first ever platinum lunar like the mouse

When I bought the platinum platypus I had no idea it would be hard to get one a year or so later. I was at my LCS recently and to my surprise there was an Australian platinum coin in the case. Could it be the elusive platypus?! Sadly, no, but it was the double dragon which is also a cool coin.
I have the Perth Mint lunar mouse and was going to get the ox if the premium was decent. I’m not liking the initial premiums I’m seeing on the ox and the design doesn’t grab my attention, so I may skip it. Undecided so far.

Coin vs Bar for Platinum. On the fence on which to choose
it is a tough choice for sure!
Depends on how much your going to stack. Less than 20 ounces go with bars because the premiums are cheaper. If your going to buy a lot more its easier to store coins. I primarily buy maples, Britannia, and philharmonic. Those come in tubes of 10 coins and they take up very little space in my safe. New bars in assay cards take up more space than tubes of coins.
I could buy some if I found some 1/10 oz's eagles. But unfortunately i can't find them, especially in The Netherlands.

I think if you are stacking precious metals as a kind of extra pension income when you are older just buy the generic coins minted by your local mint so eagle's or maple's of Britannia's. If the plan is to pass it all down to your next of kin then buy whatever you want to buy.
I stay away from the likes of Queen's beasts or other series because trying to sell the whole series at once will draw too much attention especially if you try to sell them on eBay. Besides there are not that many buyers who will have 11,000 pounds/dollars available to buy a 11 1oz coin series made of platinum or over 22,000 if gold. And that assumes the spot price doesn't go through the roof 20 to 30 years from now.
Platinum Eagle 2020 is best but beyond reach of 99.9% of ppl
