Honestly, i feel this movie deserves a lot of respect. Tiffany Ward made sure that the characters stayed true to their original personalities, and it actually seems quite fun. Plus, the design in it is astounding. I just don't even see why you all hate it so much, really. I grew up with this, (yes, i did. My Grandfather bought some of the Dvd's for Rocky and Bullwinkle when i was younger, and i watched the hell out of them. Still do.) -And i have no problem with it.
Taking a cue from "The Emperor's New Groove"... GUY 1: Don't tell me. DreamWorks is releasing an animated Peabody and Sherman movie. GUY 2: Yup. GUY 1: Gonna ruin people's childhoods? GUY 2: Most likely. GUY 1: ...Bring it on. (at the cinema while watching the movie...) GUY 1: BOOOOYAAHAAHAAHAAAAA! WHOOOOOOOO!
I didn't see the movie (I never go to movies), but my brother, who's a long time Peabody & Sherman fan saw it and liked it, which surprised me. Anyway, I can't imagine anyone but Walter Tetley doing Sherman. Tetley was a unique guy (in many ways), which is why he was irreplaceable in all his characters.
When I saw the poster I actually thought that they were going to kill my childhood too; it's bad enough they made the Dudley Do Right and Rocky and Bullwinkle movies, but actually this one stayed true to the characters' attitudes, despite the added characters and cheesy moments. Getting past those moments I felt like I was seeing the original Peabody and Sherman.
I recently found out this movie is being directed by the director of the lion king which is an awesome Disney Classic so I got my hopes up a little now hopefully he still has it.
As was posted almost two years ago, I understand the feeling in that moment, I wouldn't have had faith in it after too see what happened to Doodley Do Right, Rocky & Bullwinkle and Underdog, who would have think the movie is in fact very good? BTW from which Nostagia Critic episode did you took the clips?
Dreamworks was getting some of my faith with beautiful movies like How to Train your Dragon and Rise of the Guardians, but their next few movies make it look like they're going back to the same old grind... I'm worried.
I just watched the trailer. I still think the movie's going to suck. Sherman's voice is painful to listen to, and Peabody has the characteristics of Brian Griffin.
The trailer is coming out today. If the trailer is good, then maybe the movie will be good. We shouldnt judge it by it's animation. Even though the characters are fugllllyyy in this movie lol

It came out in my country last month, and apart from the rude humour it actually handles the characters very well.
