Not enough natural anglers coming through. Youngsters want to be the next Andy Bennett rather than Steve Ringer or Alan Scothorne. Commercial fishing has had a massive impact on our Float and Feeder Teams. Not enough good all rounders on natural venues, the attraction is big money on a carp puddle. Unless things change with how divided fishing is in the UK its gonna be very difficult for the future progress internationally. Fantastic video jamie nice one. 🏴🎣👍🏻

Yes I agree the carp commercials taking over.now I'm living Latvia so many different venues from fishing 10 Pole to hand to waggler fishing to feeder fishing on a 100m wide river which is 2ft deep for 60m then a channel from 60-90m the smallest fish you will catch is roach at a 1lb with mainly chub up to 8lb and bream to 10lb in a river that's flowing at 5mph it would test a lot of anglers but I was brought with this.over here feeder fishing is 90% of fishing people look at me crazy when I fish the pole and long range slider.im happy you guys made it to France with short notice and did your best

Best coverage of an international I’ve ever seen; fantastic insight into all the hard work from everyone involved and complete honesty. Jamie they need to get you on to film fisho next year! Gutted for the team but they will come back fighting next year. I can’t help but agree that there needs to be more fishing competition on natural venues in the UK instead of commercials, to bring on the talent for the future. 🤛🎣💪🏼

Great watch mate, I think it shows how much all the lads put into it,not just those fishing. It also shows how much other teams have really improved over the years,we need to do more of this type of fishing to CIPS rules to help all our England sides.

Jamie this is quality content and a great behind the scenes run down of what can only be a fabulous event to be part of and an honour to represent your country at top level. Love the team shirts with 3 lions, England had some top talent fishing over the 2 days. Must be alot of preparation, tactics, patients, enjoyment and excitement being involved in taking part, you played a good part to and managed to put this together, Tight Lines to ALL 👍
A great insight into the World Champs Jamie, it proves a point that since England won in Inniscara we have struggled to fish to our strengths,as fishing in Ireland is like fishing in the UK,with baits the lads fish with every day of the week,on venue's they know and can get used to very quickly,some of these World Champ venue's have sea species in them,ie mullet,flatties,etc, plus we never fish with Bloodworm or Joker unless its on a Canal in winter, and never for 5 days on the trot, and the amounts that are needed at a World Champs (also applies for the float team)so it's hardly surprising we struggle,maybe it's time that the powers at the top of UK fishing at the Angling Trust, and one of the big Tackle Companies get behind a scheme and run a series of matches on natural waters with bloodworm and joker allowed,I know Lee Kerry and Mick Vials run Feeder Masters,great job by the way guys,and The Feeder King Series at Southfield,but qualifiers could be run locally for younger anglers say under 20 to attract them away from carp puddles,and put decent amount of money up for grabs,and then have a national final for £10,000 get them at a young age and see how it develops.

Really enjoyed watching this. But our guys,need to fish less commercials.and fish natural waters.
And i am sure that the fish with their profound knowledge can tell the difference between a Russian , Polish or French bloodworm , what next in all this bait codswallop, Warburtons bread for punch is better than Tesco or Aldi or the local baker in the village , and since when has a fishing practice become a training day , training for what ,training to chuck a piece of plastic
in a river or a pond with some bait inside and bait on the hook , at the end of the day in match fishing its the luck of the draw ,unless its a carp puddle where its nothing more than hyped up bleak bashing , love to see all this done on a natural venue , feeder or float , Sally Walshes springs to mind or the Aire and Calder canal at Knottingley ,and the Rivers Swale , Wharfe, Nidd ,Wye Severn, Trent sending a stick float down

Would love to know what some of the tactics were and what some of the details of the areas that need to be worked on are. But I suppose that that is still top secret even though the event is over.

Unlucky Dean and your team, it’s definitely not your fault I don’t know how you think this, you can’t choose your pegs and had the worst draws possible, it’s a shame that most places we fish here have a ridiculous worm and joker ban, how can we compete if it’s banned everywhere ?
I personally think it’s the best natural bait you can use but any time I use it people look at me as if I’m mad,

What was the plan? The tactics? The practice? The first day? The second day? What did they get wrong? Who did what? Why is a plan adhered to when it's not working?Why are these top Anglers made to just twiddle their thumbs and not work out a change in their pegs? What I'm trying to get over is you may have a thousand fish at 40 metres but your told to fish at 30 metres only. It's farcical and just a waste of time to have a whole peg and you can't search it if it's not working?
