- You might hear people say Quantity Surveying is a well-paid occupation. But how much does a QS actually earn? We last created a video on this topic back in 2021 and as you can imagine, a lot of things have changed this then. Going forward, we will be creating a new salary-based video every year.
In this video, we will explore the potential salary expectations at each level of Quantity Surveying ranging from an apprentice QS all the way to a Commercial Manager.

For this we used Doodly! However, in our recent videos, we’ve started to use a software called Vyond.
As a QS in London, a lot of these salaries will be higher in reality. Normal QS’ with 5-10 years will earn up to £60k, seniors up to £75k and managing QS’ up to £100k

This is based on the average overall QS salary. But going into the individual details such as PQS, Contractor QS etc would be a great series to start. Thank you

Averages are pointless as salary varies so much depending on the employer and your project experience.
Me & my colleagues don’t consider anything less than £400/day or £100,000 salary. In fact I’ve rejected multiple £100k jobs this year alone !! My next role starting in a couple of weeks is £550/day!!
Most QS’s don’t know their worth unfortunately or settle for less

@BoxingPrinceTV yes UK based, with over 5years experience.
I've worked for several major tier 1 contractors and I can tell you that £100k for a QS is not a UK salary. That's senior commercial manager money in the UK with experience of major projects running in the £100s of millions. It's possible that you could get £400/£500 as a day rate but would be as a self-employed contractor but contracts like that a relatively short and you're not able to follow projects from cradle to grave, and well as having a career where you're constantly having to hop from one company to another company to find your next pay cheque. Each to their own, but it can be seen as a negative, someone who has alot of short term contracts in their work history.

This is an annual salary.
