Omy! Josky that voice joh! Miziki ya Kinshasa eza moto! Motema na ngai nalingiyo, napenda sana nyimbo hizi. I like it that Franco also concentrates on the guitar, sauti yake mara mojamoja lakini tamu kweli, o nzambe. RIP my heroes
@kindu2006 I second that. Franco is so gifted is many ways that his capacity to identify talents and keep the TP OK Jazz at his best throughout the years if often overlooked. Despite his overwhelming, he is not one to crave for the limelight. He does not paly lead guitarist or vocalist in many TP OK Jazz hits.
je me rappelle de mes années collège dans le bâteau Onatra: Vangu qui m'emmena de Mushie( lac Maï ndombé ) à Kin la Belle.. Nostalgie Nostalgie la belle époque!

when i was a much younger man, and prior to my country namibia becoming independant, we used to live in refugee camps,in one camp in angola i remember someone having a small radio and on that radio we would sopmetimes get radio brazzaville. i remember one tune by tabu ley i think where he would mention countries, do u know the song rahndi? those were not goodtimes in those camps, but to hear a song mentioning african countries just made it easier. your help would be appreciated.
Yes as a young Namibian in exile this music was familiar. From Angola, I was supposed to go to Congo Brazzaville for studies but instead i was sent to Nyango, western Zambia. The elders in the camp could play these songs. We could listen to the rhumba and makossa beats back then.
For the record Josky Kiambukuta is not a founder member of TP OK Jazz. The musicians who started OK Jazz included Vicky Longomba, Jean Serge Essous, François Luambo Makiadi, De La Lune, Augustin Moniania Roitelet, La Monta LiBerlin, Saturnin Pandi, Nicolas Bosuma Bakili Dessoin and vocalist Philippe Lando Rossignol.
josky's songs have a peculiarity. there's something different about his songs. i really can't place my finger on it, but i know it's. For u who are fans of OK, i believe u can feel it too.
I suspect it is the way he sings- I cannot describe it but i feel it and to me this sets him apart from all the other very excellent singers in the band.
