I did it a few weeks, ago after moving back from overseas...didn't seem too bad actually. (with appointment) Cringeworthy trailer though.
Nothing about this trailer is typical from Berlin, except maybe starting conversation to a random transgender amazingly dressed up early in the morning next to the Spree.

You don't seem to realize that although there are a few American actors here, a majority are European. But the main point I'd like to make is: the person who created this franchise is French, and there are multiple directors on this film-- most are German/non-American.
I am American. I find Berlin fascinating. I'd love to move there one day.
And one of the German producers is Till Schweiger... That's a horrible decision 😕

Thay say the same about Paris , but it's a big shithole .One of the dirtiest cities I have ever seen .
Fortunately, I had the chance to visit several cities around the world, and Berlin is one of my fav for sure.

00:23 Fahrradszene. Vermutlich eine amerikanische Touristin, die ihre Bike-City-Tour-Gruppe verloren hat. Warum eine Amerikanerin? Weil sie nicht richtig geradeaus fahren kann und keinen Fahrradweg benutzt.

I life in Berlin. It is wonderful and I love it. After this trailer I'm not sure if this movie can really show you my Berlin.
And it really should be "Berlin, ich liebe dich", or in the local dialect; "Berlin, ick lieb dir." 😉

They shot many scenes right where I live and the movie is completely unrealistic. The area has an immens problem with dirt, powerty, loss of security, hundreds of pickpockets, drug dealers etc., more and more homeless people in the streets.
And some people do actually speak German in Berlin, not in the movie. Only british actors and then Mickey Rourke, seriously? What is this supposed to be??? Hipster tourism propaganda? * * * Kriegt hier noch jemand das Koxxen? Übrigens deutsche Filmförderung, also Steuergelder, für ein albernes amerikanisiertes Hipstermärchen. Man sollte interessante Ideen fördern und nicht schon wieder sowas Weichgespültes.

Didn't the shorts in Paris Je T'aime have a majority of French directors/screenwriters/actors (besides the Coen Brothers)? And they were in French?
This really feels like it was based on a weekend as an American tourist.
I know for a fact there are filmmakers, actors, and screenwriters who know, love, and understand Berlin.
Plus now we miss perspectives from actual Turkish, Vietnamese, and Syrian Berliners who help make the city what it is.
Above all, American romanticism is completely antithetical to Berlin. Works for Paris, but Berliners know das Leben ist kein Ponyhof.
I want Americans to get to know Berlin through film, but I don't think this is the one.

I think i've never see that much happy people in Berlin, like in this trailer. It will be more authentic if there more alternative and more frustrated faces on the street. I wondering why americans make a movie about the german capital, but I think we can be happy that it is not another movie about Nazi Germany.
